“The kitchen is small, but the flavors are big at the Playhouse Cafe. It’s unbelievable what they are capable of creating — this is not your typical movie theater cafe. Great cocktails, a full coffee shop (my favorite place to work on the weekends while the kids catch a movie), the charcuterie board is fabulous, the muffaletta is my favorite sandwich. My kids love the tater tots and chicken fingers. Don’t miss the churro bites for dessert! Best of all — you never need a movie ticket to eat in the cafe, but if you are seeing a movie — you can bring your food/drinks into the theater. Sure beats regular popcorn!Also, trivia nights and live music are so fun — not to be missed!

Dietary restrictions: They can do almost anything gluten free. They also have a lot of vegetarian and dairy-free options.

Parking: There is parking out front and along the side on the street, as well as in the parking lot behind the building.

“Really enjoyed this restaurant. My wife and I wanted to grab food before our movie at the playhouse. We are so glad we did. The Octopus appetizer was amazing, cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had the duck which was superb and again the seasoning was perfect. The vegetable medley that came with it was outstanding. My wife had the artichokes. I didn't try them but she said they were great. For dessert we had the fig tart with ice cream and it was amazing. The service was great. We will definitely be back.”

“I’ve eaten multiple times at Our Kitchen and have always had a great experience - the food, staff, service and atmosphere have always been wonderful. However yesterday was the first time, we utilized (or attended) an event in their private room upstairs and I cannot say enough good things about it. We celebrated my 70th birthday and everything was perfect. The food was delicious (served family style and there was plenty of it!), the food and bar service was great, the room itself was perfect (a very nice room with lots of space for the kids to run around) and Melanie was so easy to work with! I highly recommend Our Place for lunch, dinner and in particular, for your private event!”

“My boyfriend and I went to this place for dinner. I have to say we had one of the most delicious meals ever. We started with the Tuna Carpaccio and a dozen Oysters on the half shell. The Tuna was beautifully presented and delicious as were the Oysters. We had huge hot popovers served with a honey butter which were mouthwatering. We also tried the Crab Cake which was one of the best I have ever had. The Crab was fresh, and the tarter sauce was very light and didn't over power the Crab, For dinner we decided on the Roasted Chicken with watercress and the Butter Brown Spinach Ravioli. They were both amazing and the presentation was absolutely exquisite down to the garlic shaves on top of the watercress. For dessert my boyfriend had the Chocolate Sorbet and I enjoyed the Toasted Almond Ice cream as well as the fresh baked cookies with milk. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to the meal. The Ice Cream and Sorbet were delicious and the freshly baked warm cookies with milk were scrumptious. Everything was homemade and you can tell how much love goes into the food here. The server we had Mae was friendly, smiling all the time, very attentive and made our time there so nice. A special thank you also to Kerri Casso who is the Service Manager there. I know her from her previous job and Kerri is the reason we tried this place. She checked on us several times and made sure we were happy. Thank you to Mae, Kerri, Sunny and everyone there who made our meal enjoyable. We can't wait to come back!”

“Used to go for lunch at least twice a week when I worked in Stamford… for 15 years straight! Since I moved out of the area, literally ANY time I pass through Stamford (or even a half hour from it!) I stop for that incredible salad of theirs. There’s nothing like it, covered in feta, Gorgonzola and onions, with that perfect house dressing. “We've been coming to the reading room since it opened. We are big fans of the coffee bar especially the hot lattes. We had one yesterday that was delicious, creamy, smooth and had divine chocolate notes. Cup sizing is great too (small = 2 shots, medium = 3 shots, large = 4 shots). They do coffee right in a way that most coffee shops do not!! Staff are always welcoming and kind. Wonderful seating on front porch. Book selection is also great and they will order any book for you! They are the best :)”

“Just left a crazy Thursday night at IL Forno. What a fun and enjoyable evening we had. We walked in with no reservations and the manager snuck us right in and we even got to the listen to an amazing singer. We have been here a few times, this was by far the most fun we had. Everyone was laughing. The staff which seems to be plenty was having a good time. The manager and Owners kept walking around and making sure all was good and everyone was happy. Thank you for restoring our fun Thursday evening with no COVID fears.”
