We had an incredible meal at Chef’s in Buffalo, NY, and it absolutely lived up to its legendary reputation. The spaghetti parm with meatball was out of this world—perfectly cooked pasta smothered in gooey, melted cheese and topped with a rich, flavorful meatball. We also tried the sandwich parm, and it was just as delicious—crispy, hearty, and smothered in that unforgettable red sauce.

Speaking of the sauce—it was the real star of the show. Bold, savory, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced. You can tell it’s a family recipe perfected over generations. The portions were generous, the service warm and welcoming, and the old-school Italian-American vibe made the experience even better.

“Good Value with a Lovely Ambiance

This place offers good value for the price and ambiance, though the food didn’t quite exceed my expectations. The ambiance was lovely, and the service was nearly perfect - our server was. Our favorite was the duck, which was cooked with crispy skin.
Dover sole is renowned for its delicate, sweet flavor and velvety soft texture with its flaky fillets fall apart effortlessly with a fork. However, in your case, the sole was drier than expected, which might have been due to slight overcooking. Despite this, Dover sole remains a prized choice for its refined taste and texture.
The lamb is a solid choice if you’re very hungry.
For appetizers, the burata was intriguing when fried, but I preferred it in its original form as frying didn’t enhance the dish for me.
The thin layer of steak tartar was served on fatty toast that overpowered the tartar, which was a bit disappointing—I wouldn’t order it again as tartar.
The oysters were not all professionally opened.
The side mushrooms were too bland and not the type I expected, though the side potatoes were a hit with my mom.
Drinks were well-crafted, while others didn’t blend flavors as smoothly. Olive cake is worth trying!
Overall, this is a great spot for a casual dinner. We visited late in the evening, so maybe the chef was tired, which might have affected some dishes. Despite minor imperfections, the overall experience was enjoyable.“

“The food and service were excellent on my first visit there. I brought my mom for an early Mother's Day dinner and was seated quickly. Gianna was outstanding as our server, making sure we had everything we wanted and gave some great suggestions. The short ribs and the Orchetti with the sausage, mushrooms and mascarpone sauce were absolutely worth the visit. I absolutely look forward to returning and trying some of the other entrees. Blue Cave is a great addition to the area. 100% recommended. They take reservations which I recommend if you visit.“

Absolutely the best food in Buffalo and our favorite hands down Italian restaurant with the best meatballs I ever had besides my grandma's, that I haven't had since she passed, so these are now the best I can get. The menu is great with something for everyone and whatever you're in the mood for from flatbread pizza to homemade pasta with the most amazing sauces, delicious salads, fantastic steak and the freshest Italian desserts. if you can save room. We have to get them to go home. It's so hard to decide that we get several things and go family style sharing and going around the menu. bravo Nani in the meatballs! they are a must! great friendly service and beautiful atmosphere. sometimes the acoustic music in the bar. what a gem we love walking distance to the theater district, we try to go before shows and park and enjoy the evening starting with the best meal and drinks before a show downtown. “Been curious about this place for sometime and today presented the opportunity to try it. Came with a couple of work mates. Simple, clean tavern with food and several tables. Old school and homey. Limited daily menu, but something for anyone who loves traditional Italian-American dishes. I am always hesitant to order red sauced dishes out, because I was taught how to make a mean red sauce by an old school Nonna. The Armory did not disappoint and frankly the sauce could easily compete with Mulberry's , which is my usual go to. Not to sweet, not to acidic, just right seasonings for an everyday red sauce. Thick sliced and fresh, seeded Italian bread and butter, generous portions, lovely personal service and inflation busting price points...OMG, what's not to love about lunch here!“

I triple Diggs dare you to even try to tell me the next closest restaurant around the village or dt that comes close. P.S. for the next curious cat browsing for lunch around here- please disregard the gentleman who left a review stating he still thinks he can get better subs at wegmans. That guy most definitely eats his wings with ranch…and utensils.“
