“I came to Em Vietnamese Bistro on a whim, craving something warm and comforting on a cold, snowy day, and I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting and calm. The space is relaxed and spacious, with beautifully lit lighting that creates a cozy, welcoming vibe. It is the perfect place to enjoy a hot bowl of soup.
I ordered the Bún Bò Huế Đặc Biệt after our server, Mint, shared that it was her personal favorite. When I asked her to help me choose between the spring rolls and wings, she genuinely recommended the spring rolls, and I truly appreciated her honesty. Her warmth and attentiveness made the experience even better.
The food did not disappoint. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, with a generous variety of meats that added depth to every bite. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and, just as promised, absolutely delicious.
Overall, Em Vietnamese Bistro was a wonderful experience, from the ambiance to the service to the food itself. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comforting, high quality Vietnamese food.“

“Pho Table in Bensonhurst is a welcoming Vietnamese restaurant that offers comforting and flavorful dishes in a relaxed neighborhood setting. The space is simple and clean, with a casual atmosphere that makes it a good spot for both quick meals and relaxed dinners with friends or family.
The pho is the highlight of the menu, featuring a clear and aromatic broth that tastes rich without being overly heavy. The noodles are tender, and the toppings like sliced beef, herbs, and bean sprouts add freshness and balance to the bowl. Other Vietnamese favorites such as spring rolls and rice dishes are also well-prepared and satisfying.
Service is usually friendly and efficient, helping create an easy and comfortable dining experience. Overall, Pho Table is a reliable place to enjoy authentic Vietnamese flavors, especially if you’re craving a warm and satisfying bowl of pho in Brooklyn.“

“I am a native SF Bay Area woman with specific needs - and Banh Mi Place hits. Over the last 4+ years, I consistently enjoy the classic and braised beef as well as a grilled pork sparingly. Their summer rolls are filling and the peanut sauce is close to perfect.
I don’t often order pho from here, however I will pick up a side of broth almost every time I order.
Staff is attentive, communicative, and sweet.“

“We absolutely love the food here! Everything is full of flavor and always tastes fresh. The portion sizes are very generous, so you definitely get great value for the price. The chef is originally from Vietnam, and you can really taste the authenticity and care that goes into each dish. We’ve been here many times, and it has become one of our go-to spots whenever we crave something delicious and satisfying. The prices are also very reasonable compared to the quality and amount of food you receive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty food, big portions, and a place that never disappoints!“

“Mekong is a neighborhood favorite of mine. And with their extensive menu and very helpful staff, no matter the season I always find something that really hits the spot. In the winter, the Iron Pot Lemongrass Curry w/ Tofu is such delicious comfort food. In the warmer months, I like doing the Bun vermicelli w/ pork and Khanh Hoa Farmer's Egg Noodles as a one-two punch.
You'll also notice that Mekong has one of the coolest interiors of any restaurant in the neighborhood. This place just oozes a welcoming and comforting vibe that you will be in no hurry to leave.“

“Found this spot and was satisfied. Enjoyed their vegan bahn mi. The bread was good and it was a good size. You can definitely share it if you’re not that hungry. Had their fresh roll as well. Small cafe so seating is limited. Glad to have found this spot in an area of mostly fried chicken and pizza. Friendly staff. Vegan and vegetarian options. Just a heads up we were told the vegan pho is not entirely vegan. The soup is meat broth. Other than that, food was good and fair price.“

“If you're here for a very good sandwich I cannot recommend this place ENOUGH! They just opened and I wish to see a lot more people in the store for the quality and quantity of food you get for the price. I just had their grilled pork Banhmi sandwich and wow was I blown away by how good it was. I have yet to pick an item off the menu that was underwhelming. If you're ever passing by or doing errands, please take the time to stop by this store. I promise it will be worth your money!“

“First week it opened sat down and food was amazing. I’ve ordered a handful of times since and not as good, but not bad.
Please add option on uber eats to include sauce with Bah mi sandwiches. I have to call every time and tell them, not sure why it just doesn’t automatically come with sauce packets…“

“I've been coming here for a few years and they have yet to disappoint, knock on wood!! They are like my second family at this point. Their Vietnamese coffee is to die for and I absolutely love their recipe for the Bun Bo Hue. The quality has NOT changed at all and I am grateful and also thankful they do not skimp out on the quality of their dishes. I really do hope and pray this place stays open for a long time.“

“This is a hyper local spot for me and a super frequent lunch/ dinner. Is the pho at 5ive spice, also hyper local, perhaps a tad better? Yes. Why, then do I choose Pho Bar the majority of the time?
1) The portions at pho bar are more reasonable and leave you sated, not roly polying home. There are options to mix and match items/ portions. The lunch special is very good and a great price.
2) The vibes- everybody is having fun at pho bar. Lots of friends but also couples and solo eaters at the bar; I don’t think anybody is having a bad time. I’m not sure why that is. It might be the amount of love and effort given to the decor, which is always cute, always seasonal and homey. It’s colorful and well maintained, inviting.
3) While both spots are cash only, which can be a nuisance (though I get it), pho bar has an atm within. I’m more drawn to this spot because I don’t have to leave the restaurant to get cash.
I think that sums it up. Thank you Pho Bar- please never leave!“

“This is the best neighborhood Banh Mi shop. My lover always gets the shredded chicken sandwich and orders one spicy for me, and gets one regular for himself. Great sandwich. I always end up just eating half, its alot of food, and he eats the other half. Ok, maybe 80% of the time. I do wish they had a spicier option, MORE SPICY PLEASE! They also do have some summer rolls, however with shrimp and pork, I pick out the pork and shrimp because I do not eat those and eat the rolls. Great bang for your buck.“

“This Banh Mi place is one of my favorites. I love their new braised beef sandwich. The bread is crispy, and the sandwich is fresh and hot with a good amount of meat. I also love the refreshing boba teas here. I tried many Banh Mi sandwich places before choosing this as my regular.“

“Solid 4/5! It’s a tiny spot - but if you can snag a table, recommend the lemongrass wings for sure! Also got the bun cha pork noodles (not my favorite but good if you like fish sauce/tangy flavors), classic beef pho (so good I finished the whole bowl)! I liked the open kitchen concept. The side of pickled garlic and chilli sauce is pretty good!“

“Been wanting to try this highly rated Banh Mi shop and finally had a chance to pick up a Mr. Banh Mi and a Vietnamese iced coffee to go. Gentleman handling our order was polite and friendly. Glad to see it’s a small locally owned family business. The banh mi was fresh and well prepared overall. The bread is made in house from my understanding which is impressive. In terms of texture and taste of the bread it’s about average and I’ve had better at a couple of other Brooklyn Banh Mi spots. The veggies are finely shredded which is different than other spots however I did find it lacking a bit of zest. The minced BBQ pork filling is a take from the OG Banh Mi spot that’s been around 40 years in Chinatown. Speaking about filling/cold cuts - it’s your usual except banh mi filling just a tad less amount wise compared to others. The traditional mayo and pate was definitely on the light side or lacking. On to the iced Vietnamese coffee pretty decent taste as some decent spots. Overall I give them kudos for baking their own bread and for prep/presentation but price is a factor comparing other banh mi spots in Asian areas as $13 for a banh mi in Bensonhurst vs $8 to $9.50 in Bensonhurst/Sunset Park/Bay Ridge is a tough bite to digest unless possibly yours is significantly better/bigger than the others. But I still wish their shop to prosper.“

“I ordered takeout outside of lunch/dinner hours - can't comment on the atmosphere but the food was ready quickly. I ordered the portobello mushroom salad and the veggie chicken bánh mì. The salad was a hearty size and while a couple of bites were a bit on the spicy side despite ordering the mild option, overall the bánh mì was excellent. Seemed good value for the money, just hope in the future they can offer a veg phở option rather than the current beef broth varieties.
Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options *other than* the phở. I think they just opened though so hopefully they'll offer a veg recipe at some point soon! Also like that they specified how to make something vegan and offered that customization.“

“The tofu Bánh mì is delicious (get the jalapeños and sriracha!) and portion size is HUGE. 1/2 is basically the size of a normal full size sandwich. The green papaya salad was also bangin’ but I forgot to take a photo. The atmosphere of the place is extremely pleasant - so cozy and really a nice aesthetic. This is a different Bánh mì than any I’ve ever had before, and though it’s not quite authentic/traditional in taste or style, it’s unique and delicious anyway.“

“The outside is unassuming compared to the beautiful garden in the back. It’s a perfect spot for a date or a cozy dinner with friends. The drinks were all hits (I loved the lychee sunrise although it is very sweet). The banh xeo and bun bo hue are definitely the most worth ordering of what we got. I’d probably skip the lemongrass beef summer rolls and try some of the other ones. The only reason for 4 stars is because the service was slow to get our order in and we were waiting for awhile, but they are very kind!“

“This has been favorite Vietnamese spot in NYC for years and I’ve tried quite a few. The flavors, service, vibe are all always spot on. “Tried the traditional banh mi sandwich today. I enjoy spicy food so I requested for extra spicy. Was surprised that it actually had a good kick to it via some jalapeños and a spicy mayo type of sauce. Not ridiculously spicy but honestly spicier than I expected from food from this neighborhood (no shade)
I would’ve rated the sandwich 5 stars if it wasn’t for the pickled veggies being chopped into small chunks vs the long crunchy julienned style that I usually find and enjoy. This one was a bit mushy ear in texture due to how they cut it and perhaps prepared it. Usually the veggies are my fav part of the sandwich though 🥲
However, the service was great. The male cashier was giving family owned business from the way He was so attentive and monitoring all the tables, proactively offering extra utensils and paper plates when those dining in needed it. Nothing fancy but I really appreciate when customer service is on point.
Overall I’d come back here when I’m craving a viet sandwich but if you want a really great one you gotta go deeper into Brooklyn (try 8th ave - ba xuyen) or of course make the venture into Chinatown which is closer to downtown bklyn“

“My go-to Viet spot in South Brooklyn!! It's an authentic, comforting neighborhood spot run by the sweetest twins. The food here ALWAYS hits and the service is quick. Their Spring Rolls have a nice crisp and their Pho is great, however my FAVORITE dish is their Beef Cubes over Rice - chef's kiss!!
Other honorable mentions are the Banh Xeo, which is basically a crispy Viet Pancake with shrimp and bean sprouts filling, and Crispy Calamari, YUM!!
One downside is that the prices have gone up over the years, but TRUST that you can always find me here when I'm craving Pho in the neighborhood!!“

“Stumbled upon this cozy and delightful resto. Got one of the lunch specials - a Banh Mi roasted pork sandwich and mint tea. Perfect on a blustery fall day. Every yummy sandwich starts with good bread and theirs is freshly baked and slightly crusty and holds up to the meat and veggies in between. They don’t hold back either. My sandwich had a generous amount of savory and flavorful roasted pork along with the julienne carrots and other veggies. And service was kind and efficient. Could smell the deliciousness of my sandwich on my R train back to manhattan. I really enjoyed this sandwich and will definitely stop in again.“

“As a pho lover I have to say GIA LAM on 48th Street is absolutely the best Vietnamese Restaurant in Brooklyn, if not the entire NYC and beyond for a number of reasons.
#1. With today's inflation, I was able to pay only $43.50 with tax included for 2x pork chop with rice and 2x Pho Soup #1. You will not find a Vietnamese Restaurant this affordable.
#2. The soup base is perfect. The meat and additions are generous and complete compared to other restaurants that is much less or missing certain meats.
The pork chop is abundant. More than 2 pieces are always given compared to other places. And the meat is delicious and well-cooked and char just right.
#3. They make your food fast. I ordered and in less than 15 minutes, it was ready.
I've eaten at this place for the past 5 years.
Give it a try. You will definitely not going to regret it.“

“the beef pho could be so much better. Love the toppings, love the amount of meat, and love the flavor of the soup but the noodles suck. it is as if they overboil the noodles way ahead of time or just have poor quality noodle. Please get better noodles“

“the Banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) is very good and their other things are also pretty good, I heard, but it is a long wait, usually about 10 minutes if not busy and 20 minutes when there is a few people there. Also there is no dine in since the place in extremely small. So you order, wait outside, get your food, and leave. but definitely worth the wait if you have the time“
