“So convenient for this type of food in this park! I really like their wings. So cripsy, crunchy and fresh! The hot dogs were good w/ the red onions and mustard. They weren't like the hotdog carts at central park which was soggy; the hot dogs here were very fresh. Quick snack to eat and walk around the park!“

“This place is a gem in the rough. Food is so fresh and consistently good. I prefer to walk in and pick up the $10 tray and fill it up with whatever I like. The guy lifts the tray tops so you can serve yourself. I start with the rice and the rest is a surprise everyday. On my way out, I pick up a fresh melon or watermelon juice out front separately for $3. No place nearby can compete.“

Good menu choice, however I have been here twice and both times I waited an unacceptable long time (40+ minutes) for a single simple drink. The pick up process is unstructured and unreliable. What's the point in waiting if you cannot even receive your drink. Strongly not recommended.“

“It’s so nice to have a boba place in the neighborhood. The boba is pretty fresh from what I’ve had, and the fact that the store closes so late is a huge benefit for a night owl like me. Their selection is pretty fruit-heavy. Just be aware that the kitchen closes earlier than the store as a whole.“

“This is a hidden gem in the Lower East Side. They make pretty good boba but I want to talk about the interior. The nostalgia in here is amazing. Everything looks like it was personally selected. The the curation of this place is sick. I got the Grapefruit Delight. I was skeptical of trying it because I thought it would be tart but it was actually smooth. No tartness at all. With amount of lychee. Not to discredit how good the boba but this spot is fire to me and I would just chill in here if I could. Whoever did the decor needs a raise lol. We strolled in for a tumbling trio, Taiwan popcorn chicken, Lu ro fan, shoestring fries and pickled lotus root.

Upon delivery we are delighted with our order. Everyone was delighted. Atmosphere is low bc it is take out but clean and water ready.

With 2 kids 4 adults this was a nice stop on our afternoon pre-game adventure in Long Island City.“

I got a strawberry matcha which tasted really good, but do note that the strawberry is highly concentrated and may overpower the matcha if you prefer a stronger matcha flavor. “I’ve been coming here for close to a decade and the drinks have always been consistently great, with kind and fast service. I usually make a mad dash here after waiting in the Wah Fung line and the owner is always courteous to let me eat outside food in his store, which he doesn’t have to do. There’s lot of chain options on this block (KFT, Molly a few steps away, etc) but I always come back here because the tea is great (I love the Oolong Peach!) and not corporate-backed. “I’ve visited Modern Tea Shop before, and was super happy with my drink (rose milk tea). Today I decided to try it again and go for a different flavor! They have a lot of floral-inspired teas which is unique and a great reason to go. I got the matcha jasmine milk tea (oat milk) with boba (50% sugar), and thought it was 7/10. The oat milk wasn’t as creamy, so it caused the drink to be a bit watery unfortunately. Also, the jasmine flavor was not very pronounced, either due to the way it’s made or the sugar level I chose. Not sure I would get that drink again, but would recommend the rose milk!“

I always appreciate free milk substitutions (lactose intolerance is a lifestyle at this point). I really liked how pronounced the tea flavors were and it wasn't too sweet at the regular sugar levels either. The prices are on the lower end compared to other bubble tea spots in this area.“

“The other reviews already say everything, of if i could go beyond 5 stars. I had a cold and asked if they had hot tea. The lady offered to make me a hot lemon honey tea which wasnt even on the menu and asked me if i wanted it any sweeter after my first sip. I also ordered a mochi donut and it was the most delightful thing ive ever tried. Im a cheapskate, but those 4.25 were worth every penny. “I got the Pisces drink (mango/lychee/jasmine green tea) 70% sweet and less ice. It was perfectly sweet without being overly sweet or watery. The strawberry heart jelly was unique so I couldn’t help but try it!! I was told that the brown sugar milk tea was good as well and the prices are very reasonable considering the size (they only have one size, the drinks are about $5.50 but it might depend what you get) I’ll definitely come back again to try their other drinks, food, and desserts. They sell ice cream and mochi donuts too! They have a kiosk where you can order from and indoor seating. The service is fast.“

“I came here because of their amazing 4.9 rating on Google Maps, however, I was not amazed by their food. I got curry puffs to start my dinner. The puffs were nice and flavorful. The outside was light and flaky, and the insides were well seasoned with nice texture. The sauce came with was too sweet to my liking. Personally I prefer eating it as it is. I pad see ew with shrimp and added beef($5). The flavor was nice and the shrimp was fresh and clean. However, the beef wasn’t so good especially when I paid $5 extra for them. It was too dry and chewy.
Overall, it’s a standard Thai restaurant. The food was nice but nothing special about it.“
