“Is the food good? Yes. Can you get equally flavorful rice with beans and meat somewhere else for a lower price? Yes. Also, suggestion for the restaurant, I'm not sure if that corn based sauce that comes out with the Yuca frita is authentic to Cuba but some good ol garlic and olive oil mojo would be way better.“

This place is nowhere near authentic Cuban cuisine — not even if it were sitting right next to Havana. What they call Ropa Vieja is basically just beef stew. There’s absolutely no understanding of Cuban culture, flavors, or hospitality, which makes sense considering they are not Cuban.

When you ask for something as basic and traditional as moro to go with Ropa Vieja, they act like it’s an unusual request and explain that it’s not included. Their “solution” is to mix watered‑down black beans with white rice and whatever else they decide to throw in. It’s not even close.

The décor doesn’t help either. A few cigar boxes here and there, but most of it is Santa Muerte imagery — so, as you can guess, not Cuban at all. “I ate at this restaurant during my Christmas vacation visit to New York. It is fantastic! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is so tasty. It was better than the big advertised restaurants. If you want a real delicious meal and some great music while you eat, go to this place. It's a hidden gem.“

“I came across this Cuban fusion restaurant. The interior design with the lighting is absolutely gorgeous. Low key reminds me of clubbing. It was packed when I went but my server was super attentive and always taking care of me. I ordered the crispy wings with sesame garlic and it was bomb! The flavor was on point and the meat is super tender yet juicy! Next, I also ordered black rice seafood paella because I love black rice and it does have a kick to it. So if you don’t like spicy I dont recommend but the flavor is a spicy and sour. I never eaten any Cuban so it wasn’t my favorite but the clams calamari and shrimp were fresh! It was a bit salty and I think they recently changed a new chef but my server was so nice and immediately ask
if I wanted to order something else which I did. I ordered the mushroom noodles and the mushroom were super tender and each strand of the noodles were covered with sauce! It’s a simple dish but it reminds me of home. And to finish that I ordered dessert. I was a bit indecisive with either mango sorbet or tres leches but I chose tres leche. The sweetness is definitely suitable for me. It’s not tooo sweet for me but the cake itself is on the dry part. I am definitely coming back for their happy hours menu! I saw the $2 oyster and their mango sorbet!“

“I came to this restaurant for the first time on Saturday, and I completely fell in love with the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was so good that I went back again on Sunday brought my mother-in-law with me, and now today, Tuesday, I’m going back again — that’s how amazing it is.

“Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

I went on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking but I am sure it would be more difficult on a weekday until after 6pm when street parking becomes available. The burger and fries very solid, the el mensajero drink was excellent, I had some toast with ricotta, honey and almonds that was really good as well. It wasnt very crowded but the space is awesome I would like to go back on one of their event days. Overall good experience will come back for sure.“

Not a fan of the yuca fries they were a bit on the dry side but its always a hit or miss when it comes to Yuca / Yuca fries. The chicken pepper, onion, w/black bean sauce was skillfully prepared with good quality chicken and not the typical freeze dried trash, and the dish was savory and delicious. The wonton soup was also notable and I enjoyed the thin delicate tasty wontons. Even the rice was clearly higher quality. The modestly higher price was absolutely worth it to me for the quality of this Chinese food and I look forward to returning..“

“The mojo pork with moro rice was delicious, and I highly recommend it. I also ordered a guava and cheese empanada and got a beef one in my order instead. It was fine, but it wasn't what I really wanted. Word to the wise: pass on the tres leches. It's a flavorless cake with the wrong texture swimming in a pool of evaporated milk. The taste is wrong, the texture is wrong, and two of the three milks are missing.“

I got a ice tea, empanada and burrito for 15 dollars the tea wasn't that great the empanada had great flavor and the sauce I was given was delicious the burrito was very small not like I saw in the video. From Cuban sandwiches, to other Cuban delights at an affordable price, it is a convenient One-Stop shop near the downtown courthouses and museums. Most items range from around 7 to $20 for all the works. Staff is clean, kind and helpful. The only reason why I gave less stars on atmosphere because it is your typical sit down restaurants seating. Nothing fancy but also nothing more is necessary. You have the option to take your food on the go or sit down and enjoy it all before enjoying the downtown vibrant life.“
