“The food was spot on, classic traditional Cantonese food. This place is really a hidden gem. Flavor was on point. The texture was good. Fried rice perfect. It was a very satisfying dinner to start off 2026.
Definitely recommend everything we ate tonight:
- Deep Fried salted anchovies
- fried Pig Intestines
- Water boiled sliced Beef
- Peking Pork Chop
- Mutton Brisket stew
- Golden/Silver Egg Fried Rice
I would recommend everything we ate. hard to find a spot on Cantonese Restaurant, this is it! I'm coming back soon“

“This is our dad’s favorite noodle spot and he was always telling us how good the noodles were. When we finally tried it, we totally understood why he couldn’t stop talking about it! Everything was so delicious. We loved the noodles, the wontons and the crispy wontons, every dish was full of flavor. Definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to with our family!“

“Nice little place with a unique coconut soup base twist on hotpot. Fun place with friends, and they stay open overnight, so it's a good spot to come after leaving some bars that close early. Service is attentive, food is great, but dineresque banquette seating a bit uncomfortable.“

“Tasty food. Chinese clay pot takes 20 minutes so put in your order ASAP. Very reasonable prices for the generous amount of food. Very good service, tea cups were filled often. Metered street parking. Currently they're offering a 5% discount for paying in cash on bills totalling $30+ to celebrate their 2nd anniversary.“

“Food was great and definitely American portions!! We had the Calamari, crispy and tasty! The beef with green beans, the beef was super tender and the chicken vericelli salad which was fresh and tasty. Service was fast and often with tea refills and checking in. Highly recommend.“

“The porridge was only $10 and tasted really good. It would have been even better if there had been a bit more frog meat in it.
The clay pot rice came in a generous portion, and it was just the right amount for two people to share.
The $40 Peking duck was a big hit with the kids. It was served two ways, and the duck bone soup made from the carcass was especially comforting and flavorful.
The youtiao (Chinese fried dough sticks) were freshly fried to order. The outside was wonderfully crispy, but unfortunately the inside felt slightly undercooked.“

“The most authentic taishan/canton style you can get. Been coming here all my life, from toddler to middle age adulthood. The food is delicious, packed full of flavor, and honestly the best canton lobster you will ever find. Brother Wah is a master of wok hay.
They recently changed management within the last year or so, though still a tight-knit circle of the same employees, and the service has greatly improved, along with table-side amenities. Their business was hit hard by COVID, along with the entire street, and hasn't seemed to recover the same amount of patrons, which is a huge shame.
Hoping my review will help!
Definitely recommending their canton lobster, along with their young chow fried rice, saucy clams, and fried salt n garlic beans!
(picture has: salt n garlic beans, canton lobster, saucy clams, fried shrimp and cashews w. sweet sauce, and a salt n pepper pork chop)“

“We got here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon just before it got busy. It’s a small and tight space with friendly service. The best things we tried were the shrimp rice rolls and watercress dumplings in pork bone soup - absolutely well made and really delicious. The quality and execution of the food today was much better than our previous visits. Highly recommend for a casual lunch spot.“

“Had such an amazing dinner at Hong Kong Gourmet 避风塘 in Flushing (144-20 Northern Blvd). The food was so good — from the perfectly steamed fish with scallions, to the crispy roast meats, salt & pepper crab, braised sea cucumber, and even the fried pigeon 😋. Every dish are so good, flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. We ended the night with bowls of warm red bean soup, the perfect sweet finish. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re craving authentic Cantonese flavors. Already thinking about what I’ll try next time!“

“I am a foodie but my absolute favorite food of all time is Chinese food. I have been eating it the entirety of my 55 years and no place compares with this restaurant!! What an amazing experience, delicious delectable food and warm service. The Dim Sum was out of this world and just an all around great way to experience different foods that you've never tried before. I even loved items that I found i didn't like at all in other restaurants!
The parking lot in the back houses many cars but it's a nightmare to exit.... we had to back out the entire way and it floods if it rains. That's my only advice for this location. Find parking then go immediately to this restaurant for the Chinese food experience of your life. Even on an early Sunday, this place will be packed. And it says something when most of the patrons are also Asian..... they would know more than others the quality and authenticity of their dishes. This place gets a whopping 10 🌟 and above!!!!“

“Great spot for authentic Sichuan cuisine inside American Dream! We tried the Pickled Pepper Frog Legs, Pickled Mustard Fish Soup, Garlic Grilled Fish, and Braised Tofu—everything was flavorful and freshly made. The frog legs were tender, the grilled fish was crispy outside and juicy inside, and even our kids loved the tofu. If you’re looking for spicy Chinese food while visiting the mall, this is definitely worth a stop. Friendly service and we’ll be back!“

“A lot of Cantonese restaurants can start to feel similar after a while, but the food here was genuinely good.
The Famous Garlic Aromatic Crispy Chicken is a must. The skin was crispy and fragrant, while the meat stayed juicy and flavorful. The lamb chops were also very good, nicely seasoned without being overly salty. The House Special Stir Fry was another favorite. The squid was cooked just right, and everything had that nice wok flavor. You can tell the chef knows what they’re doing.
The restaurant isn’t very large, so seating can get tight during busy hours. While I was there, a family even got into a pretty heated argument over the table arrangement, which added some unexpected dinner entertainment. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re coming during peak hours.
Parking is also limited, so it’s better to arrive a little early and secure a spot before dinner.“

“Weekday dim sum was very limited in terms of options. Only 2 carts circling the entire restaurant the whole time we were there. Regardless of the lack of variety, the staff were great and the options available were delicious. The pork buns were my favorite, we ordered extra to go.“

“Just ate here for dinner and had to review it right away! Hope this place can stay open, the prices are so affordable…which is just what we need in this impending recession…onto the food…we ordered a cauliflower dish, the Taiwanese sausage clay pot rice and the premium pepper beef clay pot rice. The rice on the bottom was toasted REALLY well! Super crunchy and tasty! Flavors were great and we had leftovers to take home for tomorrow’s lunch. Great spot.“

“I tried the e fu noodles with mushroom and baby shrimp fried rice … they’re very well seasoned and wok-stirred well! I had tried pan fried noodles from them too . All restaurant level food instead of the average Chinese take out level food . Thankh you for giving me a taste /glimpse of Hong Kong locally ! I recommend this place for their food“

“If you love fresh seafood, this is a must go place, but on a pricey side. Good news is that they eliminated the kitchen fee charges. They serve authentic Cantonese seafood which reminds me of eating in Hong Kong. Their service staffs are very attentive.
Loved their live king crab, they serve it in 3 ways, we like them as follow: first, steam with garlic sauce and noodle underneath the crab. Second, fry and third is fried rice. Steam oysters are excellent. Shrimp was exceptional. Steam fish was very good. Fried spare rib was ok. But overall, we loved their food a lot.“

“Had a great time here with some friends for lunch. We got several dim sum items and then lunch specials which we shared. The lunch specials come with a soup that is so delicious - the broth was just unbelievable. Service was fine. The value is great! We spent less than $25 per person for our little lunch feast. I would definitely go here again.“

“This is my newest favorite in the wonton restaurant in New York. It is a tiny place, but the free tea is hot. I had the "trio" wonton with noodles, with additional vegetables, which are tender baby yuchoy. The trio wonton were all very good, but I can't say I could distinguish among the three types. All had crunchy shrimp, one said had watercress, although I couldn't figure which. The added vegetables, for an extra $2, was well worth it. The vegetable portion was large enough to merit a second bowl. It was a bargain at $12.50. I liked it so much that I ordered the same a few days later. The 3rd time I visited, I ordered wonton with stewed beef and with added vegetable. Again, it was very good, but the vegetable portion was significantly reduced, but the beef portion was large (very large for someone who rarely eats meat). I ordered this dish twice also.“

“Typical Chinese take/eat in restaurant, except that the woman in front is exceptionally friendly and warm. Food is just okay.
Place has been in business for about 35 years, so there must be a good reason. Large, free parking lot which cans get pretty busy. Decent place. ♿“

“As a fan of the OG Congee Village on Allen St, I was hesitant to try this Flushing location. My 5th sister lives in assisted-living 15 min away- so we took a chance. Parking was impossible-we gave up and parked in a garage nearby.
When we walked in, staff greeted us warmly as my friend was pleasantly surprised at the size, decor and furnishings. Directed to the main dining area below, the atmosphere was bustling but not overwhelming. People were chatting comfortably and staff were industriously👍🏼 scooting around! The familiar cart ladies came around and we commenced selections of
Lo bak goh, ha cherng, gnuw yuk yuen, dahn tot, fung jow, ha gow, fu pei guen, guw choy gow, wu gok, 3 different bao, luw leen guen, amongst a few other tasty dishes, and ordered a plate of snow pea tips with garlic.
All three of us ate hearty and enjoyed every bite!
My friend had never experienced Real Yum Cha and was very impressed, my sister-who is a light eater, devoured everything! I’m so happy I found this branch of Congee Village and it didn’t disappoint!
Cantonese Yum Cha at its finest! Big Thanks to the hard working staff!
Bonus: they did NOT automatically add gratuity/service fee to our total! #greenflag✅ we left $20 tip💝“

“We had a very enjoyable meal here today. There were three of us, and we ordered several dishes to share, including chicken feet, siomai, and seafood with noodles. We also tried several other dishes, and everything we had was enjoyable.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and was quite busy during our visit. There was a good selection of food, and we enjoyed being able to share and try different dishes together.
Overall, we had a very pleasant dining experience. I would be happy to come back and try more of their dishes next time.“

“Family lunch - no wait time as we went before 11am . Compare to other dim sum restaurants in the area, the one is less crowded. dim sum are fresh made and spring rolls still warm and crispy while on the table. My family likes it as not too salty and not too much MSG in the food as I’m not feeling thirsty after the meal. Will try more dishes next time“

“I absolutely love this place. My dad and I come here so often that it’s become one of our regular spots.
The food is consistently delicious, and while the restaurant itself is small and simple, that’s actually part of its charm. It feels authentic like you’re eating at a local restaurant in China rather than a place designed for tourists.
What really stands out is the value. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion size. For example, a bowl of beef noodle soup is only around $9. At many other places, you’d easily pay $11–12 or more for the same dish.
I know some people may mention that the service can occasionally be a little slow or that there may be some language barriers, but honestly, I’ve never found that to be a problem. Everyone has always been kind, and a little patience goes a long way.
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food at a great price, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Don’t let the simple appearance fool you.the food is absolutely worth it. ❤“
