“I recently stopped at the Restaurant at Apple Greens rest area along the Thruway in Upstate New York. Overall, it was a very efficient and convenient stop for a quick meal and break during the trip. I grabbed breakfast at Chick-fil-A, and though it was only my second time trying it, I enjoyed the spicy chicken biscuit—it was pretty good! There’s also a Panera Bread, Burger King, Auntie Anne’s, and a souvenir/convenience store, which offers plenty of options.

The decor is pretty basic, but it’s what you’d expect from a rest stop, so no complaints there. However, the place was quite cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The bathrooms, on the other hand, were very clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated when traveling.

Overall, this rest stop gets the job done and has everything you need for a quick break. I’d recommend it if you're on the Thruway and need to stop for food or a bathroom break.“

“Great cider served by a great staff! Live music on the patio outside while I was there. There was a food truck at the entrance, but the is no food prepared by the establishment therefore no star rating. There were families with young children enjoying the live music. My favorite part aside from the really dry ciders is the vintage pinball room. 5 balls for a quarter! I'll definitely be back soon!“

“What an amazing atmosphere, with an extremely comfortable home like feel. Couches shouldn’t work with tables but it did. I had the Burnt Ends, the dish was perfectly executed and I hadn’t had a more perfectly paired food on plate experience in a long time with that quality in a long time. “We were looking for a new place to have lunch that wasn't the typical fast food. This place was perfect. Tons of different options for food. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. I really. Enjoyed the retro sauce and coleslaw on it. The portion was large and the price was good. It did take a little bit to be done but everything is made to order so it was hot. The tots were fantastic, super crispy and delicious. Each table has two controllers hooked up to a large choice of old school games to play while you wait. The inside is decorated in old images and consoles bringing back many good memories. Definitely a good place to stop by and grab something to eat.“

“I would have to respectfully disagree with Chris Parker. I went to Braised Pies for the first time on Tuesday specifically to have the Cornish Pastie and I thought it was absolutely delicious. My mother was from England so I've had many pasties in my trips over there and this brought back the flavors that I remembered. I will definitely be making a return trip.“

“This was my first trip to this brewery. First impression was a very small brewery and almost felt like you were in someone’s backyard. This cozy feel was a good thing. I quickly felt at home, the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The overall vibe was warm and neighborly. I meant to stop in quickly and leave but ended up staying for several hours. As far as the actual beers, I had some very tasty IPAs. The beers I tried were all New England style and juicy but not too sweet. I ended up having a great time and would rate the beers highly. The place is very small and minimal can and draft selection but what is available is delicious .“

“Such an amazing afternoon at Minards with friends! We came with our 7 (combined) kids - who are 3-14 years old- And seriously, every single one of the kids had a blast, as did the parents! It’s a great set up for your kids to play while the grownups hang out nearby hand can enjoy a beverage or two. Angie and Jason were WONDERFUL hosts - which is kind of wild because my assumption is that the owners would generally oversee from some sort of ivory tower, but nope! They are right there “in it” with all the customers visiting for the day. I won’t lie- I love it and they are awesome people. My 7 year old is currently directing me to give them a 10 star review and is NOT happy that 5 is the max amount allowed. The parking lot was full of lots of jersey and Pennsylvania plates and that’s awesome- but more locals need to come spend a day here because it was an awesome experience for all! Also worth noting- I know places like this can be incredibly overwhelming for kids who may be neurodiverse and not thrilled with sensory overload. If you do come and try a day hanging out here- look for Angie (Incredibly friendly, very pretty blonde - can’t miss her!) and introduce her to your little one. Her whole background is in taking care of kiddos just like yours and she’s like a sorcerer with making them feel comfortable and not overwhelmed! “We have gone to Nanas before for ice cream, always had a great experience with the staff and food. We even use them as a go to for kids gifts- they feel so cool getting their own 10$ gift certificates to spend 🫢😊We have used another ice cream truck the last few years for my daughters party in the summer, and this year they are no longer available. I saw Nanas post they had gotten an ice cream truck and it was even better than the other one! They have soft serve which was great for adults , tons of novelty ice creams for the kiddos and was much more affordable than the other company. We can’t say enough how great they were! “Okay... first of all - I ordered for take-out and my husband is lucky this food even made it home. The car smelled so good, I wanted to pull over to eat it right there. Both the chowder and stuffed clams had big, tasty pieces of clam. I got the Mac & Cheese with garlic shrimp - there were no less than 20 pieces of roasted cloves which were sweet and delicious. The shrimp was completely deveined and tender. My husband thought the stuffed clams were a little salty, I thought they were perfect, so do what you want with that. I am verily looking forward to my next visit.“

“The decor is nice but it's still casual enough where you can just stop in and order to go. We ordered the mushroom hummus, chicken schnitzel pita, and burger pita. It was all delicious! The pita was so soft and fresh and everything was full of flavor. I would definitely eat here again.“

“I went on 10/22/2024 to the location on Albany Street in Poughkeepsie N.Y. Today is my mom Birthday we had a party of seven. When we arrived we were told they don't have big table for our size party. They managed to add a table. The food was a 1.5 Everyone fries were over cooked the chicken was dry not a bit of Honey was tasted on the sandwiches. Tap water warm little to barely no ice. It took over 30 minutes to receive our meals no bread sticks salad nothing offered while we waited. It was a HORRIBLE DINNER. We asked if they have any Bday specials were told No. Do you sing Happy Birthday No. Mind you we were told by the person that recommended the place said they do sing Happy Birthday. I'm starting to feel it was a racial situation. Yet we still left tips. The Family had to go find Food upon leaving. The server was great it was her second day. I wish her well“

“The woman who has this business Lynne is amazing. Once you go there, you feel as if you have made a friend for life. She is a beautiful soul inside and out and her food is just the best. The best thing to do though is follow her on social media because she so kindly post each day what her schedule is going to be and weather permitting if she can make it out. She always has a smile on her face and she’s happy to see whether or not it’s 1000° outside or below zero.

“A solid tasty meal with generous portions. Had two over easy eggs that were cooked perfectly, and really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes with onions and peppers in it. It is a very casual place, but I found it charming with the tomato and mushroom wallpaper, classic old ceilings, a bar seating. It’s inexpensive, it’s good, and a perfect place for a quick meal.
