“the food is very good but I see that they have that back from their takeout menu from the way it used to be I usually get a cheeseburger deluxe and the price I never had a problem with it but now I have a problem with it because instead of a whole pickle I get too little pickle wedges I get a little cup of coleslaw and I do not get the sesame bun like I used to the food is still good but the things I just said takes away from it for the price I pay.“

“We absolutely loved Townhouse Diner! We ended up coming here almost every day during our stay in New York because it quickly felt like our home away from home.
The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always made us feel so comfortable. The food was exactly what you’d hope for from a classic New York diner—delicious, generous portions, and always satisfying. Everything we tried was great!
What we loved most was the warm atmosphere and the way everyone treated us like regulars from day one. It really made our trip even more special.

“Just to start this review off, a word of advice...do not order pick up via Seamless from this diner. Every time I have done this, without exception, I have had to stand and wait as my order hasn't even been started yet - and I do arrive at designated pick up time. Interestingly if you order delivery it arrives in 15 mins:) That aside, this is hands down the best diner food I have encountered. It never fails to amaze me when I see the lines outside Gramercy Diner where the food is terrible when this place is so much better!! Highly recommended, with the atmosphere and decor of a classic diner should you choose to eat in rather than take away.“

“Wonderful little spot. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive and professional. There aren't many spots in the area where the menu is full of variety especially breakfast. Their egg white omelette is delicious and their fresh coffee must try.

“Instantly became my favorite diner spot in NYC on first visit. Solid coffee. Breakfast burritos were my favorite! Also ordered Parmesan truffle fries and lemon ricotta pancakes that were decent, minus the wow factor. Scrambled eggs were perfect.

Small space. We waited 15 minutes on a Sunday morning before 11am. Our waitress was super impatient/borderline rude, yet I left knowing I will be coming back again.“

“Today June 24th I had lunch here with a friend. It was my first time. Passed this cafe but never tried it. Well the food was delicious, prices reasonable and the waitress Eloise was delightful! I had vegetable quesadella. My friend had an egg white vegetable omelet with hash browns. The portions are generous! Our waitress Eloise made the dining experience here pleasurable. I booked a large group reservation here for a surprise birthday dinner, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was excellent, and throughout the night our friends kept commenting on how delicious everything was.

A special shoutout to Antonio, our server, who went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of and having a great time. The rest of the staff were also exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We had a group of 20 people, and they handled our orders in a very organized manner. Despite the size of our party, the food came out quickly and everything was accurate.

Thanks to the outstanding service, we were able to relax and fully enjoy the celebration. I brought a birthday cake, and the staff helped set it up with candles and even sang with us. It was such a thoughtful, heartwarming gesture that made the night even more special.

The restaurant is conveniently located near Lincoln Center, making it a great choice before or after a show. Plus, they're open early and late every day, which makes planning easy.

“The menu looks great the write up about the food is promising. The problem I see is with your training of your staff. That falls on the management. The management is setting up their employees to fail. Train your staff, hold yourself accountable, you as a manager is to train your staff, to your standards and expectations. If you have staff members who will not or cannot meet your expectations of doing the job, if they cannot or will not follow instructions, you need to terminate them that includes family members. It sounds harsh, I know jobs are hard to get in the Philippines. That is more of a reason to train your employees to do the job to their best.“

The service is always good. The staff are always friendly. I have never had a bad meal here - after many many times at the Metropolitan Diner.

The only negatives are the difficulty parking (welcome to Middle Village) and the sometimes long wait (but, that’s what you get when the food is superior)!“
