“A great, cozy neighborhood bar. No frills, no food but they let you take in outside food and there's no shortage of options nearby. Usually a mix of folks of varied ages. I've gone in several times over the years and there are always nice staff working behind the bar. A handy spot to stop in for a pint when you get off the train at Roosevelt Ave and nature calls 😂“

“Always promised myself on my next trip to NYC I would go to The Dead Rabbit. I am so pleased I got to do it. The staff the cocktails the food and the decor & cleanliness were A1. Loved the welcome my friend and I got, (even when we were a bit late for our booking) throughout the service from the fabulous servers. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Bloody brilliant 👏“

“Staff was friendly and very involved on the time we spent. Our instructor was very helpful and made it easy for us to understand how we kept score. We opened a tab and it was a pleasant atmosphere. Music wasn't to loud that you couldn't talk. Every lane was safe as they had cages and made sure people threw in their own caged lane. Overall I'd rate this place 9 out of 10“

“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

“I wouldn’t call Katana a dive bar, but on a Tuesday night it felt like a great neighborhood bar. Relaxed atmosphere. Was surprised at how small it was but that added to the chill vibe. I bet on a Thirsty Thursday and the weekend that all changes, but the bartenders and the craft cocktails will be just as great.“

“This was an amazing experience! Ten Degrees Bar is one of those rare places that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a hidden gem. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and lively — dim lighting, great music that’s not too loud to talk over, and a crowd that feels effortlessly cool but still welcoming. Whether you’re going for after-work drinks, a date night, or just to unwind with friends, this place delivers.
The drink menu is impressive — creative cocktails alongside all the classics done right. Every drink we ordered was perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. But what really made the night stand out was the service, especially from Lucas, who was behind the bar.
Lucas was absolutely fantastic. He has that rare mix of professionalism and personality that makes you want to stay a little longer. He took the time to ask what kind of flavors we liked and then recommended a few cocktails off-menu that turned out to be spot on. He worked quickly even though the bar was packed, never losing his cool, and somehow managed to make everyone at the bar feel like they were his favorite customer. You can tell he really knows his craft — and actually enjoys it.
It’s that kind of attentive, genuine service that turns a good night into a memorable one. Thanks to Lucas and the whole Ten Degrees team, we’ll definitely be coming back.
If you’re looking for a bar with great drinks, good energy, and standout staff, Ten Degrees Bar is the spot.“

“I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. I will certainly pop over again next time I’m in the area!!!! The drinks and food were top notch… So cheers Penrose to your amazing hospitality ❤️“

“We had our wedding dinner at Panzon-- and it rocked! Could not be happier with how it turned out.
We did a full venue rental and held a cocktail hour followed by family style dinner. David, the owner, was super responsive and helpful planning the menu and event. Staff, service, and food were amazing the whole night. Big recommend!“

“DDOBAR is the definition of a hidden gem! Tucked away inside Olly Olly Market, this concept comes from the talented team behind the Michelin-starred Joomak Banjum. The $55 set menu is an unbelievable steal, offering value that far surpasses the price point. It’s a massive bargain and worth far more than what’s cost. The food quality was superb, with thoughtful seasoning and presentation that truly hit the spot.
Charcoal 🐶 also enjoyed here since olly olly market is dog friendly! We’ll definitely be back for the main chef tasting set“

“Omg. BEST place ever for a casual, fun birthday dinner!!!!! I last minute made reservations for 4 friends and I to have my birthday dinner/drinks here and I’m SOOOO happy I did!!!! Genuinely the best time ever!!!! My roommate and I already made plans to come back during the week for their happy hour deal! Everyone who worked here was SO nice and helpful! I asked if it was okay to bring a cake that my friend had baked for me into the restaurant and not only did they say yes but they ALSO provided everything we needed to cut and serve the cake and they put the candles in for me and lit them. We all got the happiest hamburger which was DELISH and the fries are really skinny which is yum and the Hugo spritz was great too!!!! The music is also so good!!! Amazing vibes, amazing food, amazing music!!! Also shoutout to the hostess Olivia who was the SWEETEST!!!!!!! She obviously wished me happy birthday but then later came over with a handwritten card for me as well as adorable matchboxes and pens for me and all of my friends!!! She was incredible!!! All in all I’m SOOOO happy I ended up making last minute reservations here 🤩🫶“

“Busy spot with quick and easy service. Fun range in cocktails, crab fried rice is delicious and they had pork cheeks (served with thai chili slices and ginger, which was perfect), which is one of my favorite appetizers.

“Look, there are a million bars in New York. But few of them have a soul. You can feel the intention behind everything at Bar Americano from the weight of the glassware to the garnish on the drink to the playlist. They care about the little things that make up the whole experience. It's the kind of place you bring an out of town friend to show them what a real Brooklyn bar feels like. Easily one of the best no question, I kinda became like the michelin guys reviewing these XD.“

“Classy place, very friendly staff, starting with the nice hostess. Got a booth in the back. Ordered black label and regular burgers, bone marrow, French onion soup. Had a great server who told us fries were cooked with refined peanut oil since a guest had a peanut allergy. Refilled waters and drinks and checked on us a few times. Oysters are amazing, not a single bad one and no grit either, so shout out to the shuckers. One of my favorite places in the city, can’t wait to go back.“

“If you’re someone who truly appreciates a well-crafted cocktail — the kind where every detail is intentional and the experience feels just a bit magical — Elsa Bar in Brooklyn is your destination.
Tucked away with a quiet confidence, Elsa doesn’t shout for attention, it simply delivers excellence. The cocktails here are, without exaggeration, some of the best in New York City. Thoughtfully balanced, creative without being gimmicky, and consistently elegant — this place is for those who deserve a great drink and know how to appreciate one.“

“Amor y Amargo is a tiny East Village bar that sticks to one lane — bitters, amari, and spirit-forward cocktails, and does it exceptionally well. The place isn’t trying to charm you with décor; it’s basically a compact room with shelves of bottles and bartenders who know exactly what they’re pouring.
The drink list is full of stirred, boozy options. If you like amaro, you’re in the right spot. Their cocktails lean herbal, bitter, and layered rather than sweet or flashy. Something like the Sharpie Mustache gives you that mix of rye, gin, and layered bitterness that hits hard but stays balanced. They rotate drinks often, but the style stays consistent: strong, clean, and built for people who actually enjoy tasting the base spirits.
The space is small, so expect to be close to other people or even standing. The bartenders are dialed in, focused, and efficient without putting on a show. You can ask questions and they’ll break things down for you without being pretentious. If you’re into bitter, complex cocktails and want a spot that doesn’t mess around, Amor y Amargo is a great move. It’s straightforward, specialized, and delivers exactly what it promises.“

“Good oysters and a happy hour that runs until 7pm. The oysters were fresh and while I’m not a huge fan of red sauce I did enjoy the freshly shaved horseradish. That and a few other small Spanish plates and $12 martinis made this a pleasant low key early evening out“
