“If you're craving hot pot in the LIC area, this is a solid choice. Price obviously depends how much you get; dining as a party of 4, we spent around $50pp. Everything can be requested or ordered via the iPad (including a call service button), so there's limited direct contact with staff. I like how they provide bags for jackets to make sure not ALL of your possessions come out of the restaurant smelling like hotpot.

While it makes sense to have a big table to hold all of our ingredients, I felt the distance from one end to the table to the other was large! We had to raise our voices to talk to each other.

The sauce bar has the essentials as well as 2 side dishes (altho I don't remember what they were, I didn't end up getting them) and orange slices (we ate those at the end of the meal).

There is only one bathroom for the entire restaurant, so there was a bit of a line when I had to go.“

“My God… Chongqing Lao Zao might be the best Chinese hot pot I’ve ever had. And if you’ve seen my other reviews, you know I’ve eaten at A LOT of hot pot places. 😂 This one seriously impressed me.

The entrance is actually pretty small and very easy to miss, but once you walk through that door… WOW. It feels like you just stepped into a Chinese palace. The decorations, the details, the atmosphere—everything is beautiful. Before we even started eating, I was already walking around looking at everything.

Then there’s the service. Next level. The servers were so attentive that they basically wouldn’t let us lift a finger. 😂 Plates cleared, broth checked, food taken care of—they were always there without making us feel rushed. That kind of service really changes the whole experience.

And of course, the hot pot itself was incredible. Rich, authentic flavors and exactly what I want when I’m craving real Chinese hot pot. Great food is one thing, but when you combine it with this atmosphere and this level of service, it becomes an experience.

I review a lot of hot pot restaurants and usually can find at least one thing I would change. This time, I really can’t.

“I had a great experience at Xiyuehui Hot Pot. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and there was a huge variety of ingredients to choose from, including premium meats, vegetables, and appetizers. Everything was replenished quickly, and the quality was consistently excellent.

The service was attentive and efficient, with staff regularly checking in, refilling the broth, and clearing plates. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and had a lively atmosphere, making it a great place for family dinners or gatherings with friends.

“I have been to many hot pot places and this is the very best I have ever been to. It’s one of my favorite restaurants period. The food is always super fresh and delicious, the staff is super amazing, and the ambience is spot on for a fun and relaxing dining experience. To top it all off, I have food sensitivities (gluten free, in particular), but I have never had any issues here. I always get the mushroom soup base. It is soooooo flavorful. I don’t live close, but always try to find excuses to go to American Dream Mall just to dine here!“

“Randomly decided to dine here before a show at Webster Hall. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious. Teppen gyoza, kimchi beef fried rice, dynamite roll, and mango martini. Definitely plan on returning.“

“Came here for lunch because I’ve been craving some hotpot. I’m so glad I did. They have a wide selection of meats, seafood and veggies. I had the pork neck soup base which was rich and delicious. My favorite cut of meat so fat is the snowflake beef. It’s fatty, buttery and tender. The kimchi is amazing as well. Customer service is great. They leave you alone while still being attentive. And just in case they aren’t around, there’s a call bell. The seating is very private. They have booths that can close for even more privacy. The booths seat 6. Definitely recommend!“

“Our daughter took us here while we were visiting NY for her graduation for Wagyu Shabu. I normally don't like places with many prices, but since our daughter chose it so we enjoy with her. The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one.
For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu.
The place is clean and nice.
For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced.
We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it.
Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things.
The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it.
The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow.
The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty.
The vegetables are fresh and clean.
After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy.
I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like.
This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy.
So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.“

She handled our table like a pro and cooked some of our food for us too! , even while I was clearly having the time of my life and probably making a bit of a spectacle of myself. “First time here yesterday and the food is great! I love all the selections and there’s great vegetarian options. Their egg fried rice was super fluffy and soft, worth the try! I got about 1.5 lbs of dry pot at 0.5 spicy and it was too spicy for me. I also think the saltiness can be reduced. Service was quick and restaurant is clean.
Would definitely come back to try other items.

“Great service. We got a private room so it was cozy and intimate with my friends. There was a huge selection of food. There’s a man outside who grills mussels and oysters outside, and it’s part of the hotpot experience. Definitely recommend.“

When we tried finding someone to order drinks afterward, it took almost 10+ minutes to flag down a staff member only to be told that drinks are self serve and we had to get up to get it ourselves. “I kept hearing the term "hot pot" but didn't know what it was. So glad I decided to give Little Sheep a try. It was an excellent experience. Once I told the server that this was my first time visiting a restaurant with this concept, he could not have been more patient explaining how it worked and making recommendation on the best way to order. I can't express how much I value that level of service. There was even a little "cheat sheet" on the table which helped guide you through the process. The food itself was fresh and delicious and the best part, in my opinion, you can enjoy everything while it is still piping hot! My only regret is that I was traveling by myself so I couldn't enjoy this fabulous meal with anyone else. This is definitely a concept which, I'm sure, is better shared with others. I agree with one of the other reviewers that it is surprisingly, reasonably priced for NYC . Great job Little Sheep and thanks for making my first experience with hot pot such a enjoyable one - all the best!“

“The food was delicious and the portions were big. The meal comes with complimentary chicken feet. We had a dry pot with 2 meats and 4 veggies (and it came with peanuts and cilantro) and a small order of hot and sour fish (which looked like a medium portion!). Everything was very flavorful! You can choose your spice level for dry pot. White rice is complimentary and you can ask for more.

The prices were very reasonable. It came out to a little over $40, before tip :) my dad and I ate until we were stuffed and went home with leftovers enough for 2-3 meals!

“Came here for the first time with my husband and had a fun and tasty experience. We came specifically for the diy wok bar and wanted stir fry/ dry pot. The staff was super friendly and greeted us right away. They helped explain the price and process before we got started. All if the options looked super crisp and fresh. The area was very clean. The whole restaurant was spotless when we visited. Staff brought our food to our table. It was ready after 5-10min. It came out nice and hot, cooked perfectly. The flavors blended well. The complimentary little icecream at the end was a nice touch too. Overall very pleased and will definitely come back!“
