“If you've been around NYC and vegetarian, you have almost definitely heard of Dirt Candy. It's the epitome of vegetarian fine dining in NYC.I will preface my review by stating that I have not grown up in the fine dining realm; there is probably some level of "appreciation" that I lack. That being said, the food here is great. Presentation, creativity, flavor experience are all on point. However, I couldn't justify the price for the food. I think if you are very curious and want to knock it off your bucket list OR you are someone into fine dining then this is perfect. Otherwise, there are restaurants that I think you get much better bang for your buck for in NYC.“
“*apologies in advance for the poor quality photos - the lighting wasn't conducive to capturing how brilliant and beautiful these dishes were. I was a bit hesitant going in as there were a few mixed reviews, and of course paying $145 pp, you want to be blown away. I had recently watched the Chef's Table episode on Dan Barber and was intrigued on the vegetable focus, farm to table tasting menu at Family Meal. Also, with the daily menu change you simply do not know what you'll be served. 2 hours later - I was blown away and amazed with the entire meal. The veggies served were unlike any veggies I have tasted before. The entire meal from start to finish was enjoyable. In addition, I was surprised how much fish and meat was served (for those worried about the lack of protein). Highly highly recommend this place. Well deserved Michelin Star, and of course the service matches that distinction. Honestly surprised this place isn't as hyped as it is.“
“Went here for some dinner tacos. My friends have been suggesting this place for a while so on this trip to New York I went here. I tried the nopal and carne asada. I liked the carne asada and it was pretty great. It was tasty and filling. Definitely will be back again.“
“O.M.G. The ultimate if you’re looking for a traditional and historic chophouse/ steakhouse that channels the 19th century in the best possible way. A James Beard Award winner and a must-try for red meat enthusiasts. Vegans and vegetarians can also eat well by selecting from the thoughtfully-executed side dishes. I can’t recommend Keens highly enough.DETAILS:Decor: Full of character, including 19th and early 2Oth century portraits and framed newspaper circulars; traditional ceiling-mounted racks displaying meerschaum pipes; and period lighting.Service: Gracious and well-executed, from the welcome at the front desk through the delivery of menus to the taking of orders and the delivery of food. Our server, Marianne, was delightful and couldn’t have been more attentive to our needs.Drinks: Beautifully-executed cocktails and an excellent wine list, including by-the-glass options. Companion’s New York sour, a bourbon sour, was delicious. The Pimm’s Cup, a traditional British cocktail containing Pimm’s No. 1 gin liqueur, lemon juice and ginger, was exceptional. I modified mine to be light on Pimm’s No. 1 (club soda was substituted for some the alcohol), and the end result was much like a tart and refreshing ginger lemonade. Amazing. As our experience suggests, Keens is definitely a place to indulge in cocktails. We also loved our wines by the glass and the Poire William (pear brandy) that we shared after dinner.Complimentary Foods: The first items delivered to your table, gratis, will be rolls and butter and a traditional relish plate (carrots, celery, Roquefort dressing.) All are delicious, prolong the excellent cocktails, and make the diner long for a return to complimentary relish and bread plates at all dining establishments.Entrees: Keens’ mutton chop is iconic and the source of its James Beard Award. The standard mutton chop is 2 inches thick and weighs 26 Oz. The “Taste of Mutton” is a 10 Oz chop — far more generous than its name would indicate and more than enough for those of average appetite. Both mutton chops are accompanied by delicious steamed escarole. If this is your first experience of a mutton chop (as was the case for me), you can liken Keens’ chop to a beautifully-prepared, very large lamb chop. Hearty and deeply flavorful, but not gamey. Keens advises you to order the same level of doneness that you’d try in a steak. I went with medium rare (versus my usual rare), and it was delicious. I’d even trust Keens with rare next time around.Keen’s filet mignon is also excellent, but the exceptional mutton chop is hard to beat. The prime rib looks incredible, too.Side Dishes: Largely vegetarian or vegan, generously portioned, and expertly prepared. We tremendously enjoyed the creamed spinach and sautéed field mushrooms. All told, Keens was an exceptional dining experience. I’m looking forward to returning.“
“This was a fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped inside, the staff was courteous, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a party of 3, and ordered 6 dishes. Each dish came out as it was made and each dish was absolutely delicious. A person in our party had a gluten allergy which was no problem and accommodated with ease. We come to NY every year and this will absolutely be a place we revisit again and again! Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike will appreciate the dishes and be amazed with the taste! Highly recommended!“
“The hype is real. Went on a Saturday afternoon and the wait was an hour and a half. The neighborhood is so cute with lots of shops, coffee and a park nearby so that kept us busy. Pizza was delicious, service 5 stars and the ambiance can’t be beat.“
“I had Veniero's make our wedding cake, and the entire process was truly amazing! Everyone was so professional and friendly. We ordered the cake and also pastries. Delivery was seamless, and of course, everything was absolutely delicious!“
“Peter Luger is one of my Top 5 favorite restaurants since I started dining there in 2022. Amazing service as always. From the time of our arrival, Alan greeted us at the desk and made sure we were seated right away. Marian was our host and did not disappoint. He was able to make sure that our orders were take care of right away.Everything from the Tomatoes and Onion, to the bacon was very enjoyable especially with the sauce they brought out. We ordered a Porterhouse for 3 (Medium Rare) with German Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. All I can say is perfection. I enjoyed dinner more last night than the two times I was previously here. Thank you so much Marian and Alan for making our night at Peter Luger a night to remember.“
“This was our third time dining at Blue Ribbon Sushi and the place never disappoints ! The food is always extremely fresh and perfectly prepared and the service is outstanding. The servers have an excellent knowledge of the menu and consistently give great recommendations of what to order. I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“Great spot for temaki. You can mix and match your order. I mixed some of the classic with the toro and red crab. The scallop one was particularly delicious. We started with the spicy tuna dip which was also great. Tried the nami nori salad, interesting flavors, wasn’t my favorite but definitely something different to try that you won’t find on another menu. Awesome lunch spot!“
“We held a private party at Casa Ora and had a wonderful time. Food was delicious, cocktails amazing, restaurant beautiful and service impeccable. I highly recommend it as a venue. Special shout out to Gonzi (private event host) who was attentive to all our needs during planning and on the night of the party.“
“I love this Craft Beer and Burgers but this place is amazing is like you were in Disneyland roller coaster of flavors and I’m very thankful to my Server Kendra L. Briggs to take care any time and how she’s rolling this place from the beginning to the end great food experience and service as well!!!!!“
“I normally recommend this bakery to everyone. However, yesterday morning I went to your Brooklyn location to bring home bombalones for family. This morning the strawberry on top on one is literally covered in mold. This is absolutely unacceptable! Unfortunately I'm already back out of state so I can't even come back to get an exchange. I spent around $75 yesterday.... and I get MOLDY food.“
“A hidden gem in the east village. Food is experimental and delicious to eat. The Hawaiian Asian fusion food is very unique and rare to find in the city. The gluten-free fried chicken is a must go for anyone who has dietary restrictions. It is crispy, juicy and delicious.Szechuan Bolognese is quite an interesting combination of Chinese and Italian cuisine.Heritage pork chop is a very delicious too.Not to mention the dessert!! The brûlée Hawaiian pineapple and the Chocolate Haupia Sundae are too good to miss!I love the intimate environment. Small space without too much pretentious. The service is superb. You can tell the staff generally care about if their customers have a good time there. Very spontaneous, very friendly and very observable. Will come back again!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free fried chicken“
“Happened upon Figo on our walk around looking for a sweet treat. My friend has a gluten allergy, so finding a sweet treat that is celiac safe is not always easy. Justin was sooo kind to help us out, he really heard our concerns and made sure to offer my friend a safe to go gelato container. She said is was so tasty. I had the lemon and strawberry, which were both amazing! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Would highly reccomend!“
“I absolutely love these cookies. The line was down the block on a nice fall Saturday afternoon but it moved so fast. 15 minutes from start to finish. Amazing cookies, by far the most unique chocolate chip cookie. They are massive, 1 cookie is like having a large piece of cake with icing. They are not the “grab a handful” type of cookies. They are baked crisp on the outside and gooey melty in the middle- all the time every time! Extremely worth it!!“
“Got here early and got a spot for dinner! Ordered the Vegan Wild Honey, the Better Off Veg, and Mo Cheeks. All of the pizzas were delicious! Loved the flavor combinations. Friendly service. Something to note is that it’s kind of loud (bar type atmosphere) which was not bad but something to keep in mind.“
“Second time here, both for lunch, and both delicious!Had the meatballs over rice with salad and a mint limeade. I asked the server for drink recs and he let me taste all of his faves.Need to come back for the dukka fries because they look amaaaazing. They also still have outdoor seating - Happy to have!Vegetarian options: Lots of flavorful vegetarian options and sauces!“
“Hidden gem in Brooklyn Heights. We loved coming here for the food and the service. Jamel has always been very warm and made us feel welcome every time we came in. The soup is 10/10 and was a personal favorite, but we loved everything we ate here!“
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! Service was superb! Great vibes … felt very safe with distance of tables . Service and head waiter was so welcoming ! Lentil soup and Salad gelato with shrimp Delicious! Salmon , lasagna and homemade pappardelle so yummy . I just returned from Italy and felt like I was right back there ! Will be back !“
“One of the best meals I’ve had in a VERY long time. Every dish was a 10. Exciting, innovative, yet still approachable and incredibly delicious. Still thinking about the seabass tartare and the mafaldine with king crab mmmmm. The team there is TOPS. They execute flawless fine dining service in a way that feels genuine, cool, calm and collected. Many many thanks to Whitney, Darnelle, Naomi and Josh. Already looking forward to my next visit.“
“Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with a gluten free bun and lentil pancake and I was blown away. Almost tastes as good as the real thing. Definitely will be coming back and being my friends ! The Philly was flavorful, bread was fresh and warm.“
“Unreal bbq smoked meats and side options. We had the Korean bbq ribs which fell off the bone, rib tips, mac n cheese, pulled pork, cornbread and coleslaw, shared between 3, it was epic. The queue goes out the door from midday until evening, it moves fast, but is a testament to how delicious this spot is. Recommend leaving someone in the queue while someone goes to get a beer and then rejoins the queue with the beer.Overall great spot, we'll be back!“
“Per Se graces the bustling streets of Manhattan, New York, with its culinary prowess. Led by the renowned Thomas Keller, this three Michelin star restaurant delivers an unparalleled dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you step through the doors, you are enveloped in a world of sophistication and refinement. The service is impeccable, ensuring every need is met with grace and precision. And the wine pairings? Simply perfect, elevating each dish to new heights.Among the many highlights of the evening, the cheese signature dish, Oysters and Pearls, steals the show with its harmonious blend of flavors and textures. It's a true testament to the culinary genius at work in the Per Se kitchen. But what truly sets Per Se apart is its attention to detail and commitment to exceeding expectations. The thoughtful gesture of a Goodybag filled with delectable pastries for our young companion was a delightful surprise that added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. While dining at Per Se may require a significant investment, every dime is justified by the unforgettable memories created and the unparalleled quality of the cuisine. For those seeking a gastronomic adventure like no other, Per Se is an absolute must-visit destination in the heart of Manhattan.“
“Fantastic date spot in West Village. Cozy interior and options for outdoor seating. Authentic French cuisine and vibes. Loved the cocktails and service was friendly and quick. Went here for brunch before a jazz show nearby. Highly recommend.“
“Lovely spot, came for brunch on my birthday. Same great food and great service as always, but I was surprised to find the Yemenite Pancake renamed (which is the best thing on the menu).I always thought they were cool for putting aside differences and shouting out their southern neighbors… I mean, Yemenis food is delicious.“
“December 2023My friend and I back here again for great wine. We were waiting for next door to available, so we decided to hang out here first. I Could eat here at I saw they have lots of nice menu but my best friend who is super crazy about food demanded to go to the next place so I'm very easy person just go with it. Service is always nice and professional. With out my friend I will come back to try great food next time.2019Il Buco is next to the restaurant that my friend and I went to have a dinner. Looks from the outside this place is very attractive then we stepped in and we spent time in il buco for couple hours, lol. We had several drinks, met some interesting people, had a nice conversation and enjoyed my evening so much. We didn't eat there but from what we talked to another people, they all say food here is very delicious and I will definitely try to eat here next time:) nice drinks and nice interior!“
“really loved our martini & manhattan. came sort of deconstructed- l got to add lemon, olive, etc to my martini.I regret getting the mezcal negroni with banana, was just a little too funky. really lovely ambiance, great date spot and not too loud. expected a little better service for being historically one of the best bars in the city / world - but no complaints. would love to return and get some bites or sit outside in the summer“
“Came here for a birthday. Very friendly staff and great decor.Started off with some Brussel sprouts, calamari, it was all pretty good. Brussel sprouts slightly overcooked but not too bad. Calamari is great esp the green color sauce.Had a burger, very good! My fellow diners got pasta - they said it was mid but they still enjoyed it.Overall a great please. One slight bother was the $8 for bottled water. Not sure is tap water is an option but seeing $16 charged for water was not pleasant and a surprise.Additionally, more non pork options would be great.“
“Russ an Daughters is one spot where you go for the finest things!!Awesome placeAwesome serviceWorth the price and time... An for some reason I always meet interesting people from here in New York or from around the country an even people from around the world ?“
“I happened to be in Greenpoint on a weekday morning so I decided to add Radio Bakery to my list of places to stop by. There was no line, so I was in and out. There are a few counter seats by the window and some tables on the sidewalk outside for those who want to eat at the bakery. I was hoping to get their chocolate PB croissant, but they didn't have them that morning, so I ended up getting the double baked pistachio croissant and the earl grey morning bun. The pistachio croissant was very good - super flaky and crispy on the outside and not too sweet. I liked the whole pieces of pistachio on top. The early grey morning bun was also solid, and I really liked how strong the early grey flavor was. Overall this bakery is great, but I knocked off a star because this place is pricey, even for NYC ($8 for a croissant!). I also don't think it's worth waiting in line for on the weekends, so I'm glad I got to go during the weekday.“
“I was so tired so I grabbed the first thing I saw that looked familiar instead of reading the menu or checking out comments. It was beyond burger, which was delicious. After I ordered I saw crab cakes that looked yum, I wish I tried those too. They also had a bunch of desserts that looked good, but I can't eat that much at once. So if I'm ever back in New York I'm definitely coming there again. Service is really good, nice people working there, order ready fast! I definitely recommend this place.“
“A good friend from South Carolina recommended this restaurant. I must say this was some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. The owner of the restaurant is extremely nice and I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Wu for telling us about this wonderful restaurant.“
“I absolutely love the coffee, however, everytime I come to this establishment, I am charged differently for the same drink. I am not to certain as to why. I expressed this with some of the staff here at Hamlet, who then empathized with me, but I guess did not relay the message. I am starting to believe that specific staff members are making up prices. I am not too happy about this. I truly enjoy the coffee, however the fluctuations of the pricing will be their downfall if it persists.“
“My go-to coffeeshop in the neighborhood! I love swinging by here on my way to work, coffee in hand on the subway, station just around the corner. I'm usually a simple cold brew person, but their blended drinks and lattes are both excellent, while boasting a variety of flavors usually hard to find (sorrel and soursop).“
“A great place to stop while walking around Manhattan.Their bakery products are great.Their marzipan filled almond croissant and chocolate rugelach my favorite. One thing that maybe overlooked is the coffee. They offer great coffee. Perfect combination with their baked offerings. It's my go to when when walking Manhattan.“
“I recently celebrated my birthday at Vic’s with a group of friends, and it was an absolutely fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance was lively yet intimate, setting the perfect tone for the evening. We started with the ARANCINI, which were fried to perfection and surprisingly light, with a delightful balance of lemon and fontina cheese. The VODKA pizza was special, featuring unique toppings like guanciale and marjoram that perfectly complemented the gooey fontina cheese. The MAFALDINE pasta was a revelation, with its inventive combination of pistachio, chive, and bread crumbs creating a symphony of flavors and textures unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. And of course, the CHITARRA pasta with lobster and spicy tomato sauce was fresh and indulgent. To top it all off, the TIRAMISU dessert was the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. I highly recommend Vic’s for any special occasion or simply for a delicious meal with friends. Be sure to make a reservation, as this gem fills up quickly!“
“It gets loud here, y'all. Make a rezzie for dinner time. There's usually a wait. But it's good eatin'. And I really wanted to try the Banana Pudding dessert, but they were all out. The 3 meats combo plate was enough for two of us to get full, even though it's meant for only 1 person. I have no complaints. Must say the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork are delicious ?Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids present enjoying their meals with their families. Somebody celebrated a birthday, and the whole restaurant joined in to sing.“
“Between the endless amount of options to eat breakfast in NYC, this is a very good one. The atmosphere is laid back although not sloppy, the food is good and the service is OK (could be more attentive). Portions are surprisingly small (not in American proportions, but actually small) but the food itself is great.“
“woke up with a craving for the perfect blueberry muffin and Rex delivered. super soft, fruit forward muffin with a perfectly crusted top, sprinkled with sugar. so so good. they also make a proper cappuccino and have great ambiance with pleasant music, nyt copies, and books to peruse. I will definitely be coming back for a lil Saturday morning outing one of these days.“
“Really beautiful space with lovely food and great service. I was expecting a bit more from the food tbh for the price (not sure what though because I have no real complaint but it wasn't spectacular other than the mixed fritter appetizer which was the best tempura I've ever had). All in all 4.5 stars.“
“Stopped at Bleecker Street Pizza when they opened this morning, for a last minute slice before heading to JFK. They were on the ball and had pizzas ready to go right away. Greg greeted us as soon as we got inside and was very friendly, as was the entire staff! We initially decided on a different slice each, but after speaking to Greg we went back and ordered a Nonna Maria slice to share as well - just couldn’t leave without trying it, and we were not disappointed! This will definitely be my go to slice in the future. We also like that they have GF options for those who need them, but we were unable to handle a whole pie so we did not try the GF crust. Overall a fantastic experience, which is a rare thing these days!“
“When a craftsman takes pride in their work, it shows! Let me tell you that this pizza has "craftsmanship" written all over it! To begin with not many pizzerias make grandma slices, whereas they had an abundance when I went in. To top it off the taste is just an explosion of flavor! This is besides a variety of pizza styles they have ready. I'm definitely coming back and can't wait to try out other craft slices!“
“Went here on a Sunday morning (8am) and it was not very busy. However, they have about 20 employees standing shoulder-to-shoulder so I'm guessing it does get busy at other times. We ordered bagels with cream cheese and bagels with egg/cheese and everything was great. We had ample cream cheese (more than I would put on at home) and the wait was not very long. I thought everything tasted great.“
“Laura & team really have the whole “hospitality” thing down. From start to finish, our service was fantastic and the meal was delicious in every way! The garlic noodles with the steak were so amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the noodles had such amazing flavor. The noodles normally come spicy but we opted to put the “spice” on the side and they were supper accommodating. We also got the veggie pancake which is amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME. So so so good. All of the flavors at Bricolage are fresh and really wow the taste buds. We will be back :)Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options“
“Ordered the Charred Chicken Bowl, and I must say, it was phenomenal. It had a flavour that was unbeknownst to me in a bowl. The coconut ranch mixed with the habanero sauce, really do create a unique flavour profile. Also, the chicken marination was something that was brand new to me. Do give it a try!“
“I absolutely loved it. I went last Friday with my family and we felt so welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious. We were extremely impressed with the hostess Georgina. She was so friendly and had us all cracking up. She suggested we drink the rising dragon and it was delicious, we would’ve never thought to try it before her. Great experience everyone needs to go !“
“Excellent bakery I found for our baby shower cake! Marie the owner was fantastic. The cake was very well done. Very close to identical of the photo that I provided to Marie. The photo on the left is what I provided. The photo on the right is what she made for us. All our guests raved about the cake. I’m happy to have found a bakery that I will certainly be using for upcoming events/birthdays.“
“Delicious food and drinks. And even more the terrific host and his great team made us feel very welcome from the first second on.Thanks to PK and your whole team for a memorable evening at your restaurant. It was a sheer pleasure for all six of us.“
“I went in to see if there's a table and wifi for me to sit but there's no seating. The cake I got was really good, u can tell it's home made, but 10 dollars for a small piece? That's too much (my finger for comparison after I ate a piece of it, different pic is actual size).“
