“Seating area has shade, but not much elsewhere. Food is somewhat pricey given the fact that it's on the beach. Outdoor bar. You can only drink in the designated areas because of New York State laws. Excellent for laying on the beach and watching sunsets (Note: Long Island North Shore is somewhat rocky).Another side note: Last time I was here the bar area, they had somewhat of a bee issue. Apparently they've discovered that there are sugars and protein to be had, so they come around. No one was stung last I saw.“

“My wife thought the Chicken Francese was a bit bland and potatoes were runny but my Chicken Parm was excellent (Tasty and didn't need a knife to cut it). The Calamari was the best I've had...and I've had it everywhere from Montauk to NYC to Florida to California. None better. “Last night we had a delectable dinner at Basil. The chilien sea bass jumped from the sea in my plate. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was cooked to perfection. The cuisine is light and tasty. My husband had the beef skewers which he enjoyed and he is very difficult to please. Desert got a high mark with the baklava and the chocolate bread pudding which you should not miss. The service was perfect. The ambiance was noisy and bubbly. We will definitely return to Basil for its excellent table.“

The margarita pizza and the vodka pie are both great.I was prompted to review with 5 stars because i ordered a ginger ale, and they didnt have any. Not only did they read the order instructions and replace it with a sprite, they also left an apology note on my drink! “Small place busy consistently full. Cold draft when the weather was freezing outside but that’s because it’s a smaller place. Does have a large bar though. Food was really good and authentic. Very large portions and fresh ingredients in the drinks. Price driven up a bit for this reason. The service was great and they recommended things based on our taste. Will return“

I was there yesterday with my friend, my sister and her baby and we were a little uncomfortable where we were seated, so a lady that was there (I think the manager) kindly switched us to another table so that we can be more comfortable with the baby. Very thoughtful!. Also, the food was really good. We ordered buffalo wings, drinks, fried rice, the crab boil, and mac and cheese. I wasn’t a big fan of their Mac and cheese, but it was okay. “This restaurant serves delicious lo mein noodles. We also tried chicken dry pot style which was good but not much to our liking. Szechuan beef was a little too vinegary for me. I noticed people ordering orange chicken with broccoli and it looked delicious. I wish we ordered it instead.“

“I have no idea why it has taken me so long to try this place but I went in for my sister's birthday a few weeks ago. We ordered the wood ear mushroom salad, edamame and the Shanghai soup dumplings for appetizers. The mushrooms are reason alone to go back. My entrée was the dry pot chicken which came in a wok lit by sternos underneath and full of dried peppers with a perfect amount of Sichuan peppercorns. My mouth was oscillating between the delicious burn and the tingling and numbing effects of the peppercorns. The other entrées were fantastic. Beef flat noodles with a savory sauce, a mountain of port fried rice, and a delicious pork noodle dish. For dessert, perfectly fried and sugared sweet potato cakes. My one real regret is not going to this place sooner. Our server was lovely and the owners made my sister's day special.“

“I ordered the foil-packet fish dinner for a Saturday lunch. It blew my mind when I saw the lady bartender skillfully unravel the foil (see video below) to expose the fish dish. “The Picada Bandejas are delicious here. Saw them on Instagram and had to go try. Really quick service and very friendly staff. I called to place my order and it was ready in 20 mins. The platters come with shrimp, meat, chicharrón and chicken. Can't wait to go back“

“Walking into the restaurant felt like being home. There were plenty of food options and the waitress was friendly. It's pretty close to the LIRR Port Jefferson station, about a 4 min walk. I recommend coming here and would love to come again soon.“

“My sister and I recently brought a guest to have a late lunch there. My guest and I ordered the shrimp salad sandwich and it was bursting with large size shrimps, the best I've ever had. My sister had the fried scallops and it was a huge platter that she enjoyed -big enough for two meals. What's nice is at least there is some parking considering it's Port Jefferson. After the meal, I purchased some fresh fish to go from the fish market, and the quality was outstanding. They do deserve the five stars!“

“Went New Year’s Eve had an awesome meal off their special menu. Started off with a nice glass of German resiling wine, Shades of Blue, excellent! Then for appetizer had the crab cakes, loaded with crab topped with Aioli sauce, best I’ve ever had. Then had the fillet mignon with lobster tail, fillet had a good amount of gristle in the middle that I had to work around, other than that it was very good. Lobster tail was presented and seasoned very well in some sort of marinated butter, wine and garlic which I thought was top notch of flavor and tenderness. Came with the mash potatoes another good choice some of the best made. I can’t forget their delicious homemade multi grain bread which was very good. For last desert opted for the Crème Brûlée topped off with fresh made whipped cream, awesome. Let me also mention about our waitress very friendly and accommodating, great customer service.Overall had a very enjoyable and unforgettable experience at Nantucket's other than the fillet not being completely satisfied I give it the Cardillo Scale Rating Review of 4.8 out of 5.
