“My family and I came here on a whim on our way home from a road trip. We weren’t expecting much. We were just hungry. But man, it exceeded our expectations. Not only was the vibe awesome. Lively on the bar side, but very family oriented on the dining side, the food was delicious, the portions were massive and so reasonably priced. The service was great. Someone was always checking up on us. And the owner even came to ask how we were doing and say hello!! Absolutely exceeded our expectations and we will be driving the hour over the bridge to go back to this spot soon. Highly recommend.“

“Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“Shalel is one of my favorite spots in the city!!
Every time I go the experience has been nothing but wonderful. My favorite dish is the lamb kofta tagine - so flavorful and comforting. The cocktails are all delicious as well - my favorite is the lychee martini or rosemary paper plane. Folks calling this place dirty because it is basement level have clearly never stayed until the end of the night when the staff (who are amazing and passionate about what they do) bust their butts cleaning for the next day’s guests. There’s a reason this place has been such a gem since 2000“

Restaurant was so noisy that we had to shout to our table companions all evening. The imam bayaldi was oversalted and underflavored and pine nuts doled out as if they were diamonds. The shrimp was hard, dry, overcooked, oversalted and flavorless sitting on a bed of gloppy watery tomatoes. Half the lamb kabobs were ok and half were nothing but gristle. Servers were very pleasant, and helpful with wine selection but the wait for our dishes seemed interminable. What was good -- very good --the rice with the lamb kabobs, the rice pudding and the coffee. But too much money for bad (sorry, but that's what it was) food. As I said, maybe we ordered the wrong dishes or maybe it was just an off night.“

“There are a few Mediterranean-type restaurants in this neighborhood but I have to say Miriam has been the most consistent and enjoyable. The hummus and pita are so good. The chicken schnitzel is UNREAL….the size is crazy and it always just the right amount of crispy and tender. I have now been a few times and will happily keep coming back.“

“Gigis somehow manages to be an elevated lunch experience while also being fast and casual. Their food is delicious and portions are generous. I love how they give you limited toppings and after eating here 2x a week since they opened I’m still not tired of it! Very friendly staff, incredibly clean and well-maintained eating area. Altogether an excellent value. If you haven’t tried Gigis, give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. Love this place.“

“First time here. Been hearing about Circle Hummus from a few friends and clients, so my wife and I stopped in today. Friendly, and very chill atmosphere. That was one of the most satisfying falafel platters we’ve had. Zucchini pancakes as an appetizer was perfect, too. Great portion, huge flavor. I don’t understand some of the dumb, negative reviews on here, so don’t go off of that. Come and see/try for yourself.“
