“Fantastic food, fun take on diner staples! Every dish is a version of something you might get somewhere else, just made excellent. Casual atmosphere, but also buzzy and fun. Make a reservation for dinner or get there early for brunch because it does get quite crowded. You probably won’t have a super long meal (food comes out quite quickly - just like a good diner!).“
“Nice place, like in the movie and good location. You can easily combine it with a visit to the Moma Ps1 or Sculpture Center. The service people were all very friendly too. The food was ok. But I didn't expect gourmet food in a diner. I definitely recommend it for the experience!“
“Amazing, uncomplicated food that's tasty and really good value. The challah bread is particularly good, and I love the potato soup. It's also a very welcoming place to eat if you're on your own - just take a seat at the counter!“
“A perfect establishment—solid breakfast food, kind servers, and a vibe that reminds me of going to breakfast with my dad as a kid. Other diners in the city are at least twice as expensive and don’t provide half the warmth or charm of this place. Thank you thank you Mike’s!!!“
“Happened upon this restaurant with friends, and what a great find it was! Food was very good. I had the Enchiladas with their special Mole sauce. Excellent. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. This will now be on my list of favorite restaurants to visit and recommend.“
“I love Florence Prime Diner! This is just what the neighborhood needs! I like to get the vegetable quesadilla, caprese panini, cuban panini, and I love their avocado toast for breakfast. They serve breakfast all day also so that's great. Definitely check it out if you are in the area. You will love it!“
“Awesome brunch. Wait is really long on the weekend however and they only do walk-ins. Food came out slow and service left something to be desired but food mostly made up for it. I'd definitely try and come here more often if I lived closer and it wasn't as busy!“
“Jen!! We love you! Best service we have ever had anywhere in the world. You have totally made our trip! We hope to see you on broadway the next time we come! You are an outstanding server with the most amazing voice ? Beautiful, talented and friendly! To anyone who is reading this- leave the best review for Jen because she deserves the world and more. Lots of love,Marnie,Lisa and Debs xx“
“We stumbled upon this diner on a quick overnight trip to NYC. It’s everything we were looking for, delicious food made quick with excellent service. The owner at the front was greeting everyone like old friends and you could just feel the sense of community. He seemed to know most people by name. We split a Philly cheesesteak and a BLT sandwich for lunch. They were both excellent. Would definitely recommend. 10/10!“
“We had plans to eat at Ellen’s Stardust Diner before watching Wicked, but the line was down the block…in the rain. We found this place very close by and were super happy we did. Its a 3minute walk to the Gershwin Theater. The food came out so fast. The portions were huge and my whole family loved their food. The sweet potato fries were the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.“

“We visited twice during our stay in NYC. Food and service were excellent both times. Breakfast time on a rainy Saturday was really busy but the queue was well organised and once seated we didn't feel rushed. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Coffee was great and we loved the top-ups. Would highly recommend, a great diner experience for us English folk.Dietary restrictions: Provided gf toast“

“It's a diner and exactly what you would expect only no greasy spoons! It's clear the the owner hires cooks who love the food they prepare and the servers like being there.I didn't use the bathrooms but everything else seemed clean. We got the Reuben sandwich and Impossible burger with fries and onion rings.Fresh and hot with swift service and great portion sizes! The fries were hot but with lots of fry nuggets (underachieving bits smaller than my little finger). The onion rings were perfect as were the sandwiches. I added Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. We would definitely come back!Vegetarian options: Impossible burger“
“A classic no frills diner, they had seating for my group of 5 immediately for 11 AM on a Saturday and was a really good price! I got the Spanish egg white omelette (which I still don't know what exactly was in it other than mushrooms and onions). It came with toast and home fries and although was a little on the oily side, was good and cheap! Quick service and hits the diner food itch.“

“Had our breakfast here every day during our recent 5 day stay in NYC. Worth the wait some mornings. Friendly staff, especially Josie - beautiful, smiley, friendly and welcoming. Tasty, filling, great value for money breakfasts - set us up for the day.“
“This was a happy accident for me. I booked this not realizing that it was a Vegan restaurant. Never having eaten vegan food before I was a bit apprehensive on whether I would enjoy....well I'm happy to say I not only enjoyed but LOVED the experience. How the heck you make a vegan bacon egg and cheese is beyond me but whatever magic they use is working. Delicious! Very cool vibe and decor and very friendly staff as a bonus.“
“We had lunch here, and sat outside on a lovely fall day. Service was a bit funky -- not bad at all, but somewhat forgetful -- but the staff was friendly, apologetic when appropriate, and enjoyable. The food was very good. Classic old-style diner with a broad-ranging menu. Everything we had was well-prepared, tasty, and served hot. I'll go back. A little gem.“
“This place has always had great food I have been eating here 20 plus years the weekend get super busy so be prepared to wait for a table they have the best lemonade around but if you're not in to sweet stuff like my wife don't get it or ask for less “
“I didn't get to take any photos but this was a great find for a late night meal. Have cash or Venmo app ready. We ordered tacos and burritos. Everything came out fresh and fast. Their chili sauce is fire and have just the right amount of heat. They ran out of horchata for me but I'll come back and try again!“
“First breakfast of our trip brought us to this diner afew blocks from our hotel. We were seated immediately and served straight away. We opted for the Sunday brunch which is available from 10am and at $22 per person, was value for money.Would highly recommend this place if you are visiting and in the area“
“I guarantee you aren't going to find a more diverse and amazing menu. So many choices and everything was so good. I got the Ruben served open face with your choice of pastrami or corned beef. I got the corned beef and the wife got pastrami. So good! The sweet potato fries, OMG. I don't know how they make them so good but I've never had better. Just trust me on this one, stop once and you'll go back.Parking: Easy to park when we went and it was free.“
“we were very happy with our breakfast sandwiches! I had a few questions regarding coffee grinds. the man was knowledgeable and happy to share information! overall 10/10 :) Nice Latin American decor - also, very clean, organized and spacious cafe!“
“The check in was a tad chaotic, even with a reservation, but it was a Sunday morning after all. However the Carnegie overcame my initial skeptical impression by offering excellent service with vast portions of food for a fair price in an expensive city. I would definitely return in the future.“
“It is a nice place for breakfast and coffee. Portions are satisfying. The omelettes are delicious and the staff is really friendly. If you are staying in this area or passing through, you should give this place a try. Greetings to my Greek friend. ??“
“What a fantastic diner. Super authentic with warm welcoming staff. All the things on the menu that you would hope and expect to be there. We ate waffles and pancakes with litres of maple syrup and crispy bacon- all washed down with chocolate milkshake and coffee. Definitely worth a trip!!! Walk off the calories with a leisurely walk to the Met museum or Central Park!!! Well done ME diner, you smashed it:)“
“Love this place! my family and I have brunch almost every Sunday after church. We LOVE Sikah, Irene, Nana and Maria. Helen is wonderful amd treats me and my kids like family. The food is also delicious - the spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm, calamari, turkey burger, and the list goes on!!“
“It’s an oasis in Canarsie Brooklyn. Much sweet or unsweetened juices and salads. Thank you Mellissa original, Mellisa’s sister number one and number two. You are all efficient business women and fine young ladies. This is the best American diner in the middle of hard working New Yorkers.“
“Popped in for a Sunday breakfast at 11:30am ish with 2 friends. There was a small line but we didn’t have to wait longer than 15 minutes for a nice booth table inside. The owner/manager was super nice and actually came out and talked to eat waiting party and shared when we would be able to get a table. Ordered the garden omelette and shared a pancake which was super fluffy. The ambiance inside felt like the cozy neighborhood diner experience that I want for a weekend breakfast. Service was great, would easily visit again next time I’m in Brooklyn Heights“
“Great, expansive menu. Nice location with a great interior. There is really something for everyone. The food was simple, but high quality which is exactly what a diner should be. Fresh ingredients and flavor simplicity goes a long way! Would return if in the area!“
“Small homey diner with good food and good coffee. They have a wide variety of menu items including health conscious options and a natural smoothie bar. The customer service was excellent. The staff was attentive, warm, and kind. The inside is small but cozy. A great spot for a coffee date, friend date, or solo date.“
“I live in NY but visit NJ a lot. So l've been to both Carnegie Diner locations. I absolutely love this place and its a consistent great experience in both locations. I travel for work and my coworkers and I meet here a lot to eat and network with other companies. It even has vegetarian options. It's fairly priced and so delicious! Anytime I get visitors I always recommend this restaurant and when they come back from the restaurant they are always satisfied. Definitely do not hesitate to stop by this restaurant.“
“I have been coming here for three years. The owners create a warm friendly environment. They have a solid breakfast, crispy, tasty bacon, limitless coffee and good home fries.I usually get an omelet, English muffin or bagel with sweet potato fries and a side of avocado. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Their sweet potato fries are excellent. As a side note, I love an English muffin with jelly, eggs and bacon. The salty bacon and sweet jelly combine together nicely. If I do not get breakfast I usually get the mixed greens and avocado with chicken and a baked potato. Salad and avocado are always perfectly fresh as is the baked potato served with butter and sour cream.Last week, I had a burger and it was tender and tasty. The sandwiches I have had are all excellent. The only downside is that when I finish my meal I am always extremely satisfied and full with no room for dessert“
“Union Street Cafe is an old school diner with an amazingly affordable menu of solid choices. CASH ONLY. Pancakes, egg sandwiches, burgers, turkey clubs, tuna melts, coffee, pastries all make the menu. It's a small place, mostly 4 top tables. Would be difficult to accommodate groups larger than that unless you came off peak. Ambiance is very casual and a little retro. Service was understandably a little frantic on a busy Saturday and very friendly. Staff is bilingual (Spanish).CASH ONLY.“
“My wife and I, wanted to experience a different place to eat from. After searching Google search, she decided to go to this diner after reading their reviews. This was our first time visiting "The Classic Diner." When we arrived to the location there was a small parking lot. I looked at my wife like," Where the h--- you bought me to! She payed no attention to my expression. She went to the back of the car and pulled out my wheelchair, then we proceeded to the Diner. We was greeted by the owner who directed us to our table. That's where all the fun began. Our waiter who goes by the name Tino, was very professional wrapped in a sense of humor made our dining experience that much enjoyable. As we sat and talked, our meals came, it was more than we expected. Half fry chicken, cooked to perfection alongside large French toast, coffee and juice. Couldn't eat all the chicken, so we got a to-go plate. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to The Classic Diner. We will be back!“
“I have been visit this diner from a very young age. I love it here and will continue to eat here. One of my favorites is the “Big Mess” it consist of potatoes, onions, green peppers, meat of your choice, eggs all mixed up in one dish. I also like the salmon hash over egg whites or eggs of your choice with home fries, french fries or grits. The only thing I will say is the coffee can be a little stronger coffee, kinda taste like water, but in this recession that we are in, I don’t expect the coffee to be like Starbucks.Highly recommend this place.“
“Been a neighborhood coffee shop that we can always count on for fair price, good food , quick delivery with a smile. They don't forget anything in your order , add the utensils, napkins, salt pepper ketchup and drinks wrapped tight in cellophane so nothing is spilled! Will always be my favorite neighborhood coffee shop.“
“Fantastic!!! This place is AWESOME. Food is delicious. Staff are super friendly. Seating is comfortable. Atmosphere is great. The manager is a genius for making people feel welcome: me; my friends; the other customers too. You can see it. It’s not just because I’m so cool. :^] It’s very very nice to come to a restaurant where there is so much quality and also so much in the way of personality. Top picks for me: -Romanian Steak (well worth the price) -Pancakes (incredible) Did I mention that the staff here is wonderful? Outgoing. Attentive. Yay!!“
“Wonderful little diner with DONUTS. *GOOD* DONUTS. Literally what more could a human ask for?? They're also 24/7 I believe, making them a true diner, and true heroes ?Vegetarian options: Have nice amount of breakfasty veggie options! Maybe skip if you're a vegan.“
“Ok so I first discovered Sal's in 1992, went to high school around the corner{Clara Barton). When I tell you I stopped every morning to get a BLTfor breakfast and a $2 dollar hero for lunch. Over the year I continued to support and they have yet to “
“A decent diner in the industrial part of Astoria that serves typical Greek American food with a extensive menu offering..For breakfast , lunch and dinner it's fairly common to see the usual items available but it's breakfast time in this small plain diner with a bunch of tables front , center and back ..service was good and quick as my plate of French toast and egg whites didn't take long to arrive . Food is good and the portions are above average as well as the prices .Not really crowded as diner is away from main area of Astoria but the regular customers will show up regardless. Will try the lunch menu next time as there is plenty to choose from . 4 stars for big apple eats diner and worth the visit for good typical diner food .“
“I am from florida and visited my friend here in Ridgewood. This diner is so cute, I went twice on my visit. Isabella was so sweet to us, recognized and knew my friend who I was visiting, and the food was plenty for a good price. I got french toast with handmade cinnamon apples on my first visit that was mouth watering and then pancakes on my second that were even better.“
“I give these guys high marks because their food is always consistently good. It's typical diner fan fare and you can't go wrong. I will order from here daily if I am heading to work in their direction. When I call it is they know who it is just by hearing my voice and you have to appreciate that I've ordered lunch and their plates are good too, ordered a French Dip and it was excellent.“
“Ever since I was little, I would go to this restaurant so many times. I have so many fond memories. Even eating it today, it brings back memories of when my mom would take me and my siblings to eat there for dinner. At the time, they would close much later than they do now. Thankfully, I'm already walking home by 2 pm, and since I live close by, the delivery was nice and fast. The food is always delicious, generously well priced, and the customer service is always really nice. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger that came with fries, along with an extra side of onion rings. That came up to $20 on the dot, and with the portions they serve, I was more than happy with that price. I have, and I will continue to go to this amazing restaurant. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.“
“Super chill vibes. My kids loved our server Tarisai (that what our receipt said, I hope I got that right) She made my kids so happy and I will never forget that. We split a corned beef and a pastrami sandwich between the 4 of us and It was close to perfect (honesty I could’ve powered down a couple pastramis alone). My 10 year old has been dreaming about this place for a couple months now and they did not disappoint.“
“The food is alway delicious but unfortunately with everything else, it's way too expensive... I ordered a Leo omelette with avocados and a bagel, nothing to drink and was close to $30. that will have to be my last time. I'll miss it but it's not worth that price.“
“Homey diner spot in the neighborhood and it’s a real gem. Kinda hard to notice from the store front but inside is a bustling and welcoming family-owned diner. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to serve. Their coffee is delicious and I have yet to find a dish that I wasn’t satisfied with. Tried the corned hash with eggs and it was yum :) The chicken salad triple decker sandwich was also delicious. The food is always made fresh and super filling! Will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu! Thanks for the great service!“
