“How did I not know about this place until a month or so ago??? We went for dinner on my husband's birthday, and everything was so good. We (he) was hungry, so we had multiple appetizers, two entrees, and shared a dessert, and we had multiple cocktails. The space is dark and quite cozy, not large, and there's a really nice, big bar. We sat at a table for two, kind of near the entrance, and the only complaint I would mention is that it was a little bit cold in the restaurant initially, and there are better places to sit than near the front door, so you could request a better table if you make a reservation. Other than that, the service was wonderful, the cocktails were really interesting, and I ended up drinking a couple of cocktails with liquors in them that I normally would not choose, but they were delicious. This restaurant is a little different in that they put more emphasis on seafood and caviar in some of their dishes - if you look at their menu, you will see. There were plenty of non-meat appetizers, and the main dishes were a little more limited, but I think there would be something for everyone (we stick to seafood and vegetables). I would definitely eat here again - beautiful ambiance, wonderful service, terrific cocktails, and really good food!“

Hosts were welcoming and provided great service accommodating our large party - friendly and helpful - setting a stage for a relaxed and fun late afternoon birthday meal. Whether eating in the Cafe or getting take-out we're always happy with the service from the staff. My wife needs gluten free options and this is our favorite place in the area to reliably have great options.

“We drove from fishkill after my mom’s chemo treatment in pok … we haven’t been here in a while because it is a drive but we were in pok and we were in the mood for different. We were very happy with the food everything was great we just weren’t happy with the service, we had to ask multiple times for Splenda, the waitress spilled the milk and I used my napkins, she never gave us extra (she had them in her apron) I had to call her over for some then she was taking the finished plates and dropped the butter knife on my mothers foot and never apologized and seen it fall and looked under the table . not sure if the waitress was a bit off her game but we decided to enjoy the food.“

“My husband and I took a little day trip from Albany today with no real destination in mind, besides checking out Samuels Sweet Shop. As we drove through town, your restaurant caught our eye! After asking the sweet clerk at Sam’s how your food was, we decided to have lunch on her suggestion. And we are so glad we did! The interior of the restaurant is very nice and it was so warm and cozy as we entered. Your staff were wonderful. We each had a drink… I had a Bellini and he chose a beer. Our server was nice enough to look up the brewery his beer was from for us too (nice added touch that he didn’t have to do) We started our meal with calamari. The breading was so delicious and not heavy and the pineapple dipping sauce was a tasty surprise. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and he opted for steak. My chicken was the perfect blend of hot and sweet and so good. My husband’s steak was perfectly and we both enjoyed the horseradish sauce it was served with. Both served with your homemade shoestring fries. Both, so good! We had a lovely time sitting and conversing. Your waitstaff checking in just enough to make sure we were taken care of and not pushy to get us out. Overall we loved it! We can’t wait to come back in warm weather and try your outdoor seating. I wish I had gotten our servers name, as he deserves the kudos for being so pleasant!“

“Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Good drinks. A small place you could easily drive by but if you know, you know and you won't regret dropping by for some good eats and adult beverages. They also do a fun trivia night. Bartenders personalities also add to the vibe which is usually upbeat and fun.“

“We visited on a Friday afternoon in late June 2025. There were plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot when we arrived. There were a few that were shaded by trees but they were all taken.

The restaurant is located near the bathrooms around the corner from the information desk when you first enter. Just go in and head towards the right hallway.

We didn't actually eat here but I stepped in quick to check it out while everyone was going to the restroom.

There were a number of tables and bench seating and it looked like there was outside seating as well under a large pavilion roof. It looked like there was enough space to move in between the tables nicely with a wheelchair or stroller.

The food prices are higher than you expect but normal for a museum cafeteria like this at a tourist attraction. It looked like they had food options for picky eaters as well. Large selection of premade sandwiches and salads so you can just grab and go if you're in a hurry. The food did look fresh and not like it had been sitting there for days.

Overall the visitor center was a great place to visit. There was so much more we could've done here and explored but we were short on time. I think if we were ever in the area again we would visit and I wouldn't' hesitate to grab some food here either.“

Quality varies a lot depending on who's cooking, but there are some things that are very consistent.Most things can be ordered using the meal plans pick 3 option (for those who don't know that's using a meal swipe for one main item, a drink, and a side).Wait time will be different depending on what you order. Usually burgers are very fast, pizza takes a bit longer, and Rossie's or noodles takes the longest (during busy times over 30 minutes).Speaking of Rossie's, if you've had the real deal than don't bother getting it here. This is still Sodexo making it, they just have access to the same ingredients and recipes. Also they're missing roast beef so you can't get the best thing Rossie's has anyways.Very strong vegetarian options if you don't mind eating the same thing a lot. The tofu for the noodles isn't anything to write home about and sometimes you'll need to break it up and let it warm up in the broth for a bit, but it's still pretty dang good.Top choices would be:1. Noodles, or oodles as they call it for some unknown reason.2. Pizza. Just make sure one of the good people is there to make it.3. Burger, they're not great but you'll get the same thing every time4. Rossie's. It's still pretty good, just not close to the real thing.“

I’ve been to Buns Burgers (and the Saugerties location as well), and overall it’s a solid choice.

It’s best described as upscale fast-food–style burgers, but with better quality ingredients. The burgers are well made, satisfying, and consistently good, and you can tell care goes into what they serve.

It can feel a bit pricey for a fast-casual experience, and the vibe is more quick and casual than sit-down dining, but the quality sets it apart from typical fast food.

Overall, a reliable spot when you want a good burger without a long wait, and definitely one I’d return to.“

“I went on 10/22/2024 to the location on Albany Street in Poughkeepsie N.Y. Today is my mom Birthday we had a party of seven. When we arrived we were told they don't have big table for our size party. They managed to add a table. The food was a 1.5 Everyone fries were over cooked the chicken was dry not a bit of Honey was tasted on the sandwiches. Tap water warm little to barely no ice. It took over 30 minutes to receive our meals no bread sticks salad nothing offered while we waited. It was a HORRIBLE DINNER. We asked if they have any Bday specials were told No. Do you sing Happy Birthday No. Mind you we were told by the person that recommended the place said they do sing Happy Birthday. I'm starting to feel it was a racial situation. Yet we still left tips. The Family had to go find Food upon leaving. The server was great it was her second day. I wish her well“

“So me and my family are up here this weekend for my wife's college reunion thing and she suggested Applebee's. It's close by the college and we wanted some good food before we head back to the hotel. Our waitress was phenomenal. I can't give her enough praise, attentive, patient (there was nine of us), plus she served two other tables around us. I gotta say the food wasn't as good as I had hoped. To me it's a hit or miss with boneless or regular wings. Either they're too saucy or not enough sauce. These were too saucy and my pasta was too saucy as well. My wife complained about the chip being stale as well. The ambience was good. Wasn't too to crowded but with a big family we bring the crowd with us usually. The staff was definitely accommodating so I really enjoy that.

Kid-friendliness: This was definitely a family friendly vibe as more families were there versus single people at the bar.“
