The local who insisted I had to grab one as we walked by absolutely knew what he was talking about. Abuela's Empanadas was my introduction to the fat-kid status that would come to describe the entire time I lived in New York City as a Midwestern transplant, lol. “We stopped into Les Gateaux de Marie while in NYC and absolutely loved it. Such a cozy little bakery with the sweetest atmosphere. You can immediately tell the owner truly loves what she does and puts so much passion into every detail.

Everything we tried was amazing. The latte, coffee, cupcake, and crispy heart were all so good. We sat down for a few minutes to relax and honestly just enjoyed being in the space. The bakery is beautifully designed and feels so warm and welcoming.

“Im not even the biggest fan of cookies, but Levain is just so good.

Their cookies are huge and on the chunkier side. It’s slightly soft in the center but crunchy on the outside, and has sufficient mix in ingredients (chocolate chips, walnuts, etc.)

Fav is def the chocolate chips and walnut. I did find the two chip chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookie to be too chocolatey and sweet for my preference.

It’s a little hit or miss, but when it gets too busy they just grab it from the tray so the cookie is either warm or room temp, versus at a diff location ive gone to they heated it up and/or grabbed it from a fresh tray.

Workers are friendly and there’s some seats and areas to stand and enjoy your cookie! :)“

“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

Malú offers unique pastries, such as the Dubai chocolate cheesecake that is to die for, I ordered their olive bread as I used to do when Yaya was open. Their berry napoleons are the best, the spanakopita and the leek pies are very fresh and tasty, I also ordered them. In summary, a unique business in terms of quality, variety, cleanliness and the warmth of their staff. Not only was it perfect in detail but became the centerpiece of my party with guests requesting to have their pictures taken behind it. Chef Nick, you have made the party greater than expected. “It's been a hot hot hot minute since I came here after I moved to Long Island Suburbs. My son's big day today and I took a trip here to pick up my custom strawberry cake layered with their famous lightly sweetened freshly whipped cakes. When you step inside It's as if you step back in time. My mom first took me here when I was 11 or 12 and this place still look the same. The bakery captures a lot of customers from the surrounding businesses such as the hospital. It's great to see a flow a diverse crowd visiting this Gem. I also picked up half dozen curry beef pastry and their chicken rolls. I took a bite and taste just like my first time eating them in the 1990s when I was a little boy. When I want a good delicious healthier cake I come to Yeh's.“
