“Over the years, this place was never my first choice for Chinese food. That title went to Wing Wah, my go-to Chinese spot until a few months ago when it suddenly closed down. I only went to this spot a few times over the past few years, usually whenever Wing Wah was closed for whatever reason. Most recently, I came here as this was the closest Chinese food available and man I haven't been here in years. For starters, the place was a lot dirtier/messier looking than I remembered, easily being the most cluttered restaurant I've ever stepped in. The tables up front were covered in boxes so don't expect to be dining in. I got a General Tsao with chicken fried rice for $11 and it came with a soda which definitely alleviated my wallet woes a little bit. Not the best Chinese food I've ever had but it's far from the worst and the portions weren't too bad. The lady behind the register was trying to be as friendly as can be so I can't complain about the customer service.“

“CheLi in Flushing is legit amazing. That squirrel fish? Super crispy, sweet, tangy — straight-up addicting. The place looks gorgeous too, like old-school China but super clean and chill. Service was on point. Honestly, I’d come back just for that fish.“

“Came here for my anniversary dinner and was blown away by Breeze (pun intended). Easily some of, if not the best Sichuan food we’ve ever had. I got the Winter Frost #2 cocktail and I wasn’t sure what type of flavor I was expecting but it didn’t taste like what I expected in a good way! The cocktail had a mildly sweet, light but depth in flavor profile.
The ginger sauce green beans were some of the best green beans I’ve ever tasted. The sauce they used was addicting. Second favorite item was the diced chicken with chili pepper, which was super spicy but absolutely delicious. But to be honest all of the dishes were home runs! I was just here last night and I’m already daydreaming about coming back to try more dishes.
Also the service was exceptional. The restaurant was full and there were only two guys to cover the front of the house (the hostess, waiter, bartender, and bus boy). They definitely had their hand fulls but still were efficient. Since it was our anniversary dinner they ended up surprising us with a pumpkin rice cake dessert on the house which we thought was the sweetest gesture. I couldn’t have been happier since I absolutely love rice cakes 😋“

“Juqi was a nice dining experience. Most of the dishes when served were presented in a way to elevate one's dining experience. I was there for a birthday dinner and we were seated in a room. The table felt small at first but the waitstaff knew what to do that it never felt too crowded. Besides the food being good the waitstaff were consistent with changing plates and bringing the next course. Some of the dishes that stood out was the beef and tomato soup, the duck, the black rice that is set on fire (the aroma was pleasing where you're not sure what ingredients were put in) The soups were presented in a small ceramic bowl and tea lights were put underneath to keep it warm. This was a set menu and because there was a lot of food it was hard to keep track. Overall a good dinner out and a nice place for all group sizes to celebrate a special occasion or just a nice evening out.“

“Large quantities and yummy food! We got 2 combos for two for 6 ppl and it was more than enough food. We got the classic spice with bean curd and king oyster mushrooms, chicken wings, and pork belly. We also got the tomato soup with fish and beef with lotus root and wide noodles plus milk custard and spicy noodles. Would come again!“

“Wow. Lemme just say this restaurant is my new favorite in all of Flushing, let alone the best Hunan restaurant in America. Spicy lovers this will definitely hit home with the boiled sauerkraut fish, braised lamb and minced meat with peppers. The brown sugar glutinous rice is to die for. Will be back very soon, probably tomorrow.“
“Fantastic gem in LIC. Great authentic flavors and extensive menu. Fun cocktails too!! Highly recommend the black jack beef, Mongolian lamb, Changsha chicken and dragon eye for dessert. Amazing. Liam was our server and was very attentive, personable and gave great recommendations. Check it out!“

“Forgot to take mouth-watering pictures before we devoured all dumplings. We came in before 7pm where it was empty inside but the kitchen was bustling. As we waited and ate our food, lots of people came strolling in to pick up and dine-in. It’s a small place but with big flavor. While there is a variety of food, we craved dumplings and this place delivered. We tried the steam and fried pork and chive dumplings and soup dumplings. Fried dumplings made this way is exactly how we remember it in one of our favorite places in Houston. They also sell wholesale frozen dumplings ($15/50 pieces). Can’t wait to make them at home.
Johnson (hope I remembered your name correctly!) took our order and served us. It seems like he’s the boss/owner as he made sure all dishes were to perfection. If it wasn’t good, he didn’t serve it. He also recognizes the locals who come in often and acknowledges them by name. It’s nice to have that in the area. Thank you!“

“Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was tasty, the service was good, and everything looked clean. They seated me quickly, and the portions were huge — one dish is definitely enough for two people.
I ordered a tomato noodle soup, but I found it had way too many noodles and not enough vegetables or meat. Also, since most of the broths are pork-based, there aren’t many options if you don’t eat pork. I also tried the mushroom (wood ear) salad, which was fresh and delicious.
In short: the food is good and flavorful, but I’d love to see more balance with the soup (less noodles, more veggies and meat) and a few more non-pork soup options on the menu“

“I've been to a lot of hotpot restaurants in the city. BeiJin Hotpot is a very average hotpot place. It's good, but hotpot is always good. Nothing exceptional for the price. The meat was good, maybe if we ordered different types of meat we would've had a better experience. There's nothing wrong with our dinner; we were just a bit disappointed. All in all, for the price range there are better places to go to.“

“NYC typically rivals the Chinese food you can find in the Bay Area and Hupo certainly helps that case. Focusing on Sichuan style cuisine, Hupo has a wide array of entrees and bites that will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. They certainly do deserve their Bib Gourmand. We had a reservation for 5 set for dinner and were glad we did so as the place was very busy when we arrived. The interior is clean and simple with no frills. Once seated we were informed that they only have digital menus through a QR code which was a bit difficult to navigate with 2 out of the 5 of us being older and not as tech savvy but we figured it out anyways.
We ordered a few different entrees and split them family style so we’ll go over them generally. Side note: although many of the dishes are noted as being spicy you can request that they be made without any spice. For dim sum/appetizers we ordered the scallion pancakes and pork soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes were okay, nothing special about them but the pork soup dumplings were a bit better with a tasty broth inside and nice chewy dumplings. For entrees we got duck fried rice, braised beef noodle soup, beef with broccoli, and dan dan noodles.
The duck fried rice was very good. Many places opt to use day-old rice for fried rice and you can often tell by the texture, but if they do that here then we were fooled because the rice tastes fresh and the duck was perfect. The braised beef noodle soup was also good, not the best we’ve had, but still good with the beef having a nice texture and the broth being rich. The beef with broccoli was great, the beef velvetized and delicious, the broccoli, well, broccoli. Lastly, the dan dan noodles were fantastic. The noodles were cooked perfect, the minced beef very delicious, and the bok choy tasty as well. As it is food wise, Hupo is a standout, particularly in the Western Queens area, the only knock being its service is a bit iffy with the workers being not too warm but for the meal you get, we’re willing to shut up and just eat. A fantastic restaurant all around!“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“I recently visited this establishment for takeout. The kind lady assisted me in selecting which dumplings to order. The staff members were all very pleasant. While I was waiting for my order to be prepared, I was offered some complimentary snacks, which were quite delicious. There was a minor issue with their steamer, which caused a slight delay in my order. The lady apologized and offered me additional snacks to sample. After a few extra minutes, my order was completed, and I brought the food home. The meal was a great success, and my family thoroughly enjoyed every dumpling I had ordered. I certainly plan on returning in the future.“

“A nice elevated Chinese place in Greenpoint for when you don’t feel like going down to Chinatown. I think you get a good value for the atmosphere and quality of food you get, along with portions too. All hits for me.
The Mapo Tofu was super good. Not overkill spicy and very flavorful. I really liked it. $15, but of course you need rice so $17. My GF got the Chicken Soup which I thought was okay. I’ve had variants of this, and I think the broth had an meh flavor.
Overall, though, a great bang for your buck and I’ll be coming back!“

“Most authentic Jian Bing you will find in America. Hot, fresh, aromatic, and delicious - you will not regret trying it.
Cash only spot, line can get kind of long. My favorite is the plain egg one without any protein add on. This is the authentic way to enjoy it, if it is your first time I’d recommend this version. That being said, it is hard to go wrong with added protein.“

“I liked the vibe of this place. I got in and ordered on the screen. I got the spicy stir fry cumin lamb hand ripped noodles for around $15-16.You have the options of adjustung the spice level and choosing less oil, less vegetable etc so thats nice. When my food was ready, I was called to come collect it.
The food was nice. It felt like non Chinese american food in the sense that it was not sweet at all and had a more mature taste (almost bitter in a way because of the spice and cumin). I enjoyed it. Its nit obvious in the picture but the dish itself has a lot of oil so its good they give you the less oil option.“

“This place was delicious. The noodles were the perfect amount of chewy. The flavors were perfect. The dumblings we're so flavorful you didn't need dipping sauce. We got noodles in chili sauce and beef brisket noodles. Both were delicious, the meat was so tender in the beef brisket. I did wish the noodles in chili oil was a little spicer. But maybe I look to white for the full spice version, 🤣. The person who runs the place and takes your order is so kind. She was able to negotiate us a place to sit. It was busy when we got there, only a few tables in total. Service was quick, and this place is busy. Totally worth it. This place is definitely a gem and I am sure we will be back.“

“For around $26, we got a large bowl of sauerkraut fish and two bowls of rice, which were brought to us by a little robot. The bowl was large enough for two people, so the price was very good for the portion. They also have a whole menu for bubble tea, so you can enjoy some with your meal. I got one in case the food was too spicy, but it wasn’t really spicy even at the highest level, especially compared to other similar restaurants in the city. Overall we had a cheap and enjoyable meal that I would be down to return to for casual eats.“

“One of the coziest and most welcoming Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in New York City! The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, with natural tones and ambient lighting that make it perfect for a dinner date or reunion with friends and family.
The menu offers a wide range of comforting dishes. We especially loved the shrimp with walnuts (so creamy and satisfying), the chili fish, and the soup dumplings. The cabbage hot pot came in a vessel with an open flame underneath to keep it warm throughout the meal, which was such a lovely touch. The lamb dish was served with fire as well, adding some visual excitement to the table. They also brought out hot tea kept warm over a small candle, which added to the cozy fall vibe.
It happened to be Mid-Autumn Festival when we visited, and they even gave us complimentary mooncakes, such a thoughtful surprise! We also had the Peking duck, spring rolls, and more, and everything was served fresh and full of flavor.
This place has a natural charm and offers a truly comforting dining experience. I’ll definitely be back again soon!“

“I’ve been to Chongqing Laozao many times, and it never disappoints. The broth is always rich, flavorful, and full of that authentic Chongqing heat I love. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a great atmosphere — perfect every time I come for hotpot.
I also want to give a special compliment to our server Doudou. She’s always warm, attentive, and very professional. She explains the menu clearly, brings out dishes promptly, and checks on our table just at the right times. Whether it’s refilling the broth or helping with anything we need, she handles everything with a smile.
Thanks to Chongqing Laozao for consistently great food, and special thanks to Doudou for her excellent service. She really makes every visit even more enjoyable.“

The food was packed with flavor and definitely impressed the whole table.
Lamb and beef kebabs were well spiced; Glass noodles in sesame sauce were a surprising hit—everyone at the table loved them!
The BBQ lamb rack was a standout: incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
Great place for group gatherings or casual dining. I’d definitely come back!“

“Great spot for dinner, open after midnight. Skewers are all great. Love the scallop appetizer the most though. Chicken skin and beef brisket is a must. The alcoholic drinks are good but the non alcoholic drinks are just ok - watermelon juice was not good in my opinion, so watery and seemed like it had been frozen for a long time. Love coming here and getting a bunch of different skewers!“

“I ordered take out from here for the first time. It’s a tiny place with about 4-5 tables and it’s pretty no frills. You take a large bowl and you go to the fridge and grab what you want. You then choose if you want dry or wet hotpot or Mala tang. Not sure what that means. I looove dry hot pot though. The minimum for dry hot pot is 1.3 lbs. I had to go back to the fridge a few times in order to meet the minimum requirement. I asked them to only make it a little spicy, like tiny spicy, and they did it perfectly. I loved the dish they made for me when I got home. My meal also comes with one serving of white rice. My only qualm is that even though it says 15.99 a lb, I had to get 1.3 lbs which equated to about $20. So expect one dry hot pot to be a minimum of $20 which seems a bit pricey. I will come back though once I get the hang of the system. I usually do UberEats but they up charge so much that maybe $20 isn’t a lot to pay? The staff is friendly and accommodating. When leaving I saw a customer eat a HUGE broth hot pot. It looked delicious. Not sure what it was. The meal for me was like 6 servings, but I’m sure for others it counts as only 1-2 servings.“

“(got it through uber eats) The general tsos chicken was good! Not overly drenched in sauce or super sweet or weird tasting chicken, seemed fresh and had a good taste. The cheese wontons however… i do not recommend at all. Both the filling AND the sauce were wayyy too sweet- making it not enjoyable. They should definitely change the sauce to make it more savory and spicy bc it wasn’t even sweet chili, just straight up SWEET. 😬 Anywho but the main dish which was the chicken was great!“
