I took my order (Ox tail and arroz con gandules) to go. I indulge once a week when I'm lucky enough to see a line 2 deep or less. Here is my problem. My first time in there, rookie, I wanted to try a burrito. But they are so busy and it's they have a lot of food in hot pans to make plates. But the burrito they grill the raw chicken right in front of you, and I couldn't help but feel like I hold up lines. I will tell you though, when that thing comes through, hot, fresh and mounded high with chicken for 7 bucks! I was floored. Cheaper than a garbage taco bell burrito for 8.69 half the size and less than half as good. I was hooked. But today, I grabbed one of their rotisserie chickens from the oven in the window. I am not telling y'all any lies. Best. I . Have. Ever . Had. Now I love fired chicken, breading is great yada yada. But never had a roast chicken this good. Only one pointer, they default give you a garlic sauce, either it doesn't need it or ask for something you spicy if you like a little kick, cuz this sauce is pointless. So no, you can't sit down and eat. Not it's not quiet, no they don't have time to be friendly. If you want TASTE for VALUE then you know what to do.“

“So for a long time i had no idea this place was so close to me, i used to order my spanish food from Mi Casa on 117th and Jamaica ave, but they wound up shutting down and reopened under new management. After searching and realizing El Rey is 8 blocks away i stopped in and decided to give them a try, i am certainly thankful i did, the food is seasoned just right without being to strong, the service was very fast and courteous, and not to mention the prices are great . i usually order the roast pork(Pernil) with white rice and beans on the side with an order of sweet plantains , and it would cost me almost 40$ at the old place i ordered from , this order was half the price i paid and was so delicious, they have a great selection , and the staff is great , even the delivery is pretty fast i only suggest confirming the address before hanging up, as they had my address wrong and my delivery took 45minutes, once it was corrected i get
my deliveries in about 15 minutes!!! hope you enjoy as much as i have , this is my new go to spot!!!!“

“I love an upscale Dominican sports bar and lounge. The baseball game on while I eat dinner the music is at the correct volume and its all Dominican music. The food I had was great I haven't been here in years and it was better than I remember. I had skirt steak, goat stew, chicken croquets, a chimi sandwich, fried chicken and the alfredo pasta. All of it was outstanding. I love to see an old establishment still pumping out classic meals. Definitely love this place.“

“The best of the best Dominican food in queens. Chivo (goat) was ? even if you don’t like goat, you will like their goat. Roast chicken is amazing as well. Beans, rice, tostones, onion, all the Dominican staples are as good as they come. Huge servings, very affordable. It’s a casual restaurant with high quality service. The staff are all very polite. Good place for families - they didn’t mind that our toddler made a mess. I’m def going back again and bringing more friends and family.

I ordered half chicken half steak on Spanish rice with a country club Frambuesa Raspberry soda. The bill came to about 15 dollars with tip. They deserve more!

The food was delicious. Chicken was tender and marinated in a flavorful broth. The steak was similarly tender but had additional peppers and onions and other flavors that made it stand out. The rice was full of flavor and really could be it's own meal.

The service was exceptional and the woman at the front desk was very thoughtful and stepped through all the dishes they had to offer while giving great suggestions.

The atmosphere was good to. This is not a fine dining experience, but a local spot for and by locals. I could tell the people that team the business and the patrons of it were friendly and that created a really warm atmosphere.

I recommend you try this place out of you are even curious about Dominican and Spanish food or just want to support a local business.“
