“I'm from out of town so I was really excited to try some of the local food spots in this area and this place did not disappoint. There was a bit of a language barrier but the staff was very helpful and offered me a menu in English. I ordered the salmon and I also had the spare ribs to go. Listen..... the food was amazing the drinks are very good. The bartender very beautiful and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food. Good music . Overall a great experience. 5 star for sure“

“This place is beyond amazing I found it while waiting for the bus and I became a regular customer. It's one of the best bakery places I've ever been to. I tried so many places but quality wasn't good. They have a big selection at a very reasonable price. Bought 4 cinnamon churro, donut, and a croissant filled with cream with chocolate topping for only $11.98. I can't emphasize how much the quality and cleanliness of the food. I have sensitive stomach but had no issues with this place. They cover everything with plastic.
It's my go to bakery place from now on. Recommend it for any party/ gathering.“

Both had great flavor for great prices and was clearly homemade with whole food. Sauces that accompanied the bowls were vibrant. The owner and team were very welcoming and it was clear they were passionate about their food.

“Thought this was an American diner don’t know why but glad I came in. The smell had me at the front door. So I had the Mangu con los 3 golpes, which is fried salami fried,cheese, and eggs with smashed plantain . All delicious. The coffee had a home feel to it and the beef and steak empanadas to accompany it were good. Definitely coming back to taste all the other dishes here.“

I highly recommend if you want Colombian Food or soup this place will suffice.

“I dined at Puertas last night and had a lovely time. It is one of the few upscale Latin fusion restaurants in Bay Ridge, and it absolutely deserves our support.

The restaurant, including the bathroom, was clean and sanitary, and I personally observed the staff busily cleaning and clearing tables and common areas. No one lazed about; everyone kept busy.

I was eager to try the Empanadas de Carne, as they were a twist on your ordinary empanada. The saffron was palatable, and the aji spices raised the bar on the standard “meat pie” you’d experience at other restaurants. The aji gave them a semi-sweet, but savory, flavor.

The drinks were spectacular. They were well-measured, bold, and flavorful. The drink featured in the photo below was their DeLeon Smash, which is a creative variation on a whiskey smash and a Mojito. The fresh mint combined with the Grand Marnier is something I urge you to try.

Honestly, my only complaint is the owners haven’t figured out how to make this place a Latin music scene. There was plenty of space to pull out booths, adjust table sizes, and create a stage where Bay Ridge could have a hub of the Latin music scene. The ambiance is a perfect fit, and they can do so much more than serve just great food and drinks.
