“I can not believe that this restaurant has been here on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village for over 20 years and I never ate there!!! This is my new Favorite place to eat. The food was exceptional and good size portions. The pita bread they put out on the table was so delicious I could have made that my meal. The service was extremely attentive and so personable. The Owner came around greeting everyone and made us feel like we were all family having dinner together. I am looking forward to my next visit.“

“Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I
Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn.“

“Love Yaroa, hate driving to the city. The best Yaroa wasn’t in the city though, it’s a 15 min drive from me at bueno deli 2 🩷 just like they make them in the DR :)
Also noticed they carry a lot of Dominican products I can’t find at other stores! So glad to have found this place while door dashing“

“Small little pupuseria, the pupusas are delicious, great sauce and Cole slaw, they come hot, they are perfectly cooked, and their eggs and egg sandwiches are great as well. The food is clean, delicious, and the pupusas are quite authentic. whenever I have gone there, most of the customers are Spanish speaking and that gives me confidence in their authenticity. The people that work the counter are very friendly, accommodating, and they speak Spanish and English perfectly. The have ready made food and counter service but the kitchen food is cooked upon order. perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.“

The food is outstanding, compliments to the chief!! Also, I would like to comment on our waitress, Kim, who is terrific!!! She was so attentive to all our requests, took care of us all night. Also, the manager is a real gentleman, and he also made us feel comfortable and special. Without a doubt, this is the best steak restaurant on the Island, we have been to most of the upscale restaurants here and we rate this the best. The downstairs and our group upstairs. She was very pleasant, professional, and did a great job handling everything herself. The food was so good. “Had the pleasure of eating at the Greenport location. Two of my HS girlfriends and myself on moderately busy on Sunday (1012/24) at about 5:30. A young waiter named Brian was our server. We first ordered drinks, mine was the margarita with the pomegranate swirl. So delicious!! Refreshing and frosty! We shared the Mexican Street corn and the three dips with chips, which were freshly made. So fabulous! So tasty. The salsa, guacamole and queso were just perfect, each different but delicious!! The corn was sweet and flavorful. I had three tacos in hard shells. Fried chicken, fried shrimp and the marinated steak. Each one was different and very fresh. My one friend, is a vegetarian and the other is gluten intolerant BUT! They each found many yummy choices! I’ve been trying to get to this restaurant for several years, and finally the planets aligned! Brian was well trained, patient and informative with a good humor. The interior is bright, festive and clean. So much food, I could not finish all of it. And!! the restroom was clean! You should be very proud of this business! We will be back! Thank you!!“

“Last Wednesday I was at Davis vision works and we walk to the restaurant for lunch whem we get the we were standing up for almost 15 minutes waiting for someone to give us a table. finally whem someone come to us and without asking if we need a table rigth away he say is was 15 mint wait, me while the restaurant wasn't even packed it was a lot of table empty and even like that he was going to make us to wait more. really bad service and rude attention. we have money to pay it wasn't like we were asking for a free table. people are really racist at this place. “Had a great experience here last night. The food was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed some of the best baked clams I’ve ever had. The drinks looked very creative as well. The skirt steak was tender and marinated in a delicious marinade. The service was helpful but it wasn’t a rushed experience by any means. The patio is dog friendly as well. I will be back!“

“Tiki Joe's is a nice little beach front kitchen and bar. The food is good. A little pricey though. The bar is nice. Beautiful view of the Long Island Sound on the North Shore. A lot of speciality drinks/cocktails. They have bands that usually play on the weekends but you have to get there early. They stop playing by 9p.m. Other than that, overall decent spot.
