“It's a decent local watering hole. My brother in law and I got 2 dozen wings. Sweet chili and flaming mango. Both were good but nothing to rave about. The sauce coating was on the heavier side but not absolutely drenched, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The wings themselves had a good size to them and the texture was fairly crispy too which is something I always look for in my wings. For someone who's consumed an ungodly amount of chicken wings in the Buffalo area it's hard to live up to that standard and expectation. That doesn't mean I'm saying their wings are bad. Just not as good as some I've had in Buffalo. My Dave Portnoy score is a 7.4.Parking: Free street parking. It can be a bit difficult to find a spot on a busy day.“
“From the friendly faces welcoming me in to the juicy, perfect Philly cheesesteak, it was a game-winning experience. The staff genuinely seemed to enjoy the buzz of the cheering crowd and spreading smiles, making me feel like part of the team. And that Philly? MVP of the meal, hands down.“
“An awesome bar/restaurant. Everything from the beer to the food was excellent. There is extra seating in the back and parking available on the side of the bar. The chicken wings are some of the best you'll ever have. Change of Pace is highly recommended! ?“
“Needed wings one Sunday and gave them a shot. So glad we tried these. I got the spicy ranch and mild. The ranch ones were unexpected. They were perfect. Never had anything like them. The wings themselves were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Sauce was a perfect amount. Favorite wings, hands down.“
“Really good brews and some unique food offerings. Kinda big and cavernous, but I think that's the industrial vibe of the venue. Parking is free in a nearby lot.Parking: Lots of space but not directly adjacent to the venue (there's a small field in between).“
“Atmosphere is a great college joint. I went to school at SU 50 years ago. Besides having more wrap options. Nothing has changed. I think even the tile floors are the same. I use to eat pizza and drink beer, but I know they have lots of sandwich options, too. Booths must be original too, sore to sit on.??Vegetarian options: Good wrap options. And pizza“
“We usually get pizza on Mondays, so like many places, Johnny Macs has been out of the equation. This place has been in queue for when our week gets messed with. It comes with the added bonus of being next to a bakery we've also wanted to try. This name comes up a lot when people in Syracuse start talking pizza. A lot of people love them and we were excited to try them out. The first time we went with the Chicken Bacon Bourbon Pizza. It looked like an easy choice after going through the menu. We threw in a steak sub for good measure, and added double cheese. It wasn't a lot, but it annoys me when places charge extra per ingredient, even if it's negligible. 10 cents for mayo, 80 cents per cheese. We ordered the bourbon pizza because it's the only one on the menu you won't find at most other places. Also, it sounded amazing. For this pizza, the taste was everything. The pizza is light, thin and hard. Pretty toasted feel to it and not a lot of sauce. I did rely heavily on bleu cheese, but I specifically like my pizza very soggy. The sweet glaze over top of it with the chicken was the whole thing. I would have not enjoyed any other pizza with this texture and consistency, but in this case, the dough just kinda stayed out of our way while supporting the true stars of the show. This was our first time getting double cheese on a Philly/steak sub. It was awesome, and I'm going to keep doing this every time there's no whiz until I'm given a reason not to. Provolone and American, and it cleaned house. It's pretty much a given that unless you're told otherwise, a cheesesteak sub in Syracuse is going to have the same pre-shredded Sysco meat squares. So the whole thing is how they build around it, and far most importantly, the bread. The bread was top tier: soft yet firm with just the right "bounce back". There has to be a better word for it, but you all know what I'm saying. They don't phone it in on the bread, so whatever sub you order is going to be at least really good. The only con with the philly was that it had this prevailing taste of what I would compare to canned mushrooms. The sub didn't contain mushrooms, but that was the taste we got from it. We managed a return visit maybe a few weeks later. This place is a drive for most of us I imagine, but Bella's next door really helps takes the sting off. This was a simpler order, just their world famous "Special # 3", which as you all know is a large cheese with 10 wings. We added pepperoni and went with "HBBQ" wings. We weren't sure if the H was honey or hot, but we rolled the dice and got honey. Extra Crispy and whenever it's an option, extra saucy. If we could get our wings in a cauldron of sauce, we would fish them out, take a shower, and come back every day. So we were happy to get a good deal of sauce with our one dollar "extra saucy" upgrade. The wings were about average, good size and texture, and were pretty sweet with all the sauce. We'd probably go with hot or garlic next time. The Pepperoni pizza was kind of a disappointment. As predicted, it was the same setup as the bourbon chicken with no bourbon chicken to save it. It was thin, toasty, light, chewy, and whatever. It was just like any other pepperoni pizza you've ever forgotten. It was the kind of pizza your boss stacks in the break room once a month in lieu of a pay raise. I guess it's a matter of style preference, because we definitely weren't into it, but if you take a random poll in Syracuse, a lot of people are. If you ever accidentally pass exit 5 on 690 W, take it as a sign, double down and try them for yourself.“
“It was cool to run into Norma my dated sisters best friend. Good place to go great beers and great folks.Wheelchair accessibility: Watched a brother in a wheelchair come to the bar and ask for his favorite and everyone told him see you tomorrow so he must be a regular.“
“We order and pick up often! Best Pizza on the Northside, maybe in the city?!Kid-friendliness: What kind doesn't like pizza?! And they have boneless wings and other finger foods too!Parking: Plenty of parking everytime we pick up our food!Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to get in the building, I don't remember if there is any seating, if there is there are only a few. It's a pick up and delivery kind of place.“
“I am forever in search of a great haddock dinner. I actually avoid it on most menus because I'm very picky.I am happy to find a perfectly cooked ( most places over cook it... it only takes a minute!) fried haddock. The prices are very reasonable and the menu has a nice variety. It's servers have great timing and know the products they're serving. The white wine I had was just the right temp. I'm picky about that too.The place has a friendly atmosphere and I'm fortunate that it's in my own backyard.“
“Fantastic food and drinks at great prices. If you have a good head for alcohol and want strong, well made drinks, the bartenders can't be beat. We had a birthday party there and all the other customers were so friendly and fun. It was a most memorable night.“
“Delicious gem in Syracuse. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with the place near-deserted. Quickly got some delicious tea and kimbap - with the lovely aroma of sesame seeds on top, glistening; really good green veg filling, egg carrot etc too. Then the curry pajeon! I've never had curry flavor before but that was crispy and fantastic, especially with its soy sauce. Tteokbokki was classic with the flat fish cakes, a good amount of spice for me (with lots of water!); fantastic chew. We shared the beef rice cake stew : sudden homey vibes, strong black pepper flavor, rice cakes and clear likely sweet potato noodles in there too, beef strands tender. Dolsot seafood bibimbap : this had little squids and mollusks (I think clam), and fish cake with the spinach carrot etc with again a great sauce, seaweed paper flakes on top, an oozy egg, and the red sauce on the side for as much spice as you want! If you don't touch it the rice crust is perfect on this winter day (no burned bits but crunchy!!). Ramen is vegetarian and gave me an instant nostalgic feel. Can combine with tteokbokki for a little rappokki fun! Then, the omurice: not the oozy japanese cafe one but an egg omelette on again super nostalgic fried rice. They can always hold/put on the side ingredients if you need. This came with pork strips I think.I'm in love with ajumma's sesame leaf banchan. It's so hard to find in upstate NY and unexpected!! The texture cannot be replicated by most supermarket goods. She also had soybean sprouts, kimchi, and fish cakes.Would highly recommend. Food is delicious, owners are very friendly and caring, and atmosphere is cozy.“
“Was trying to order from Paladinos but they weren’t answering their phone. I remembered eating a slice of Liberty pizza at a birthday party and I really liked it. So I ordered 2 large cheese. They were ready on time, hot and the staff was very pleasant. Brought them to a get together and everyone raved about how great of a cheese pizza it was. Not as expensive as others either. Worth a try, if you are feeling like pizza one night.“
“Went here for lunch before we toured the university. Place was busy and a little confusing when we walked in, but quickly figured it out. There are three stations set up for what you are looking for. I wanted a wrap (pictured) and my daughter wanted pizza (not pictured).Atmosphere was cool, lots of college stuff on the walls and plenty of seating. We went to the wrap station first because it was at the back of the restaurant. Server was friendly and helped me with the options. I went with the chipotle chicken wrap, was made quickly, and paid at the station. We then went to the pizza station and they lots of variety for slices. My daughter opted for two plain slices. When I paid for the pizza, they politely asked if I paid for the wrap, so guessing I could have brought the wrap over and made one transaction instead of two. Was not a big deal to me.I asked my daughter how the pizza was, she said really good! When at the pizza station everything smelled terrific so no doubt that it was really good. My wrap was huge and full. Normally would have only ate half and get the other half to go, but not an option in our scenario. Wrap was also packed, no skimping, and was very good as well!If she decides to go to Syracuse for school, would definitely go back for future meals!“
“The staff was way better than the last time I went there. A 100% improvement. Great food today, I enjoyed my visit very much. I'm very happy they got rid of the slackers and the people that were making this place a terrible place to go and spend a couple years since I have visited this location because of the service I received the time before. But like I said, it is a lot more professional and the food and service reflect that.“
“Was a little nervous about eating here for the first time as the place just opened for the night and was empty. Glad we did. Carlos was the best bartender/waiter/chef! Service ,drinks, food was excellent before our show at syracuse stage. Even went back after the show for some more drinks. Carlos was awesome!“
“Syracuse Halal Gyro has the best Halal food in the whole city. It beats out other halal restaurants on taste, portion size, price, and friendliness. The owners are very kind and are good people. My only complaint a few months ago was that they would always close too early around 10/11PM before I could get to them, but recently I heard they are now open until midnight seven days a week. This place is awesome.Vegetarian options: There is really yummy falafel and hummus! There are other options too but I didn't try them yet.“
