We had an amazing time at Sotto la Luna with our friends — everything was simply perfect! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious — just like in Italy.
The restaurant has a beautiful setting, with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs preparing your meal with care and passion. It adds a special touch to the whole dining experience.
During our 3-day stay in New York, we loved it so much that we came back for a second dinner. That says it all!

“This was the warm Italian hug I was wanting on our recent trip to NY. We were at the MOMI down the street, and had made reservations for dinner at Sac's after the museum. We had tired, hungry tummies, and were a good hour from our original reservation time. The good people over at Sac's accommodated my family immediately, and with pleasure! My family ordered a variety of dishes, each one spectacular! 2 different pizza's, fried zucchini, sausage, and the BEST shrimp scampi I have ever eaten! The staff treated us like family, and were super attentive, anticipating our needs, and not missing a beat. At the end of our meal, Domenico Sacramone, one of the owners came by our table to chat, it was lovely and greatly appreciated! That's the extra touch of love, and attention someone who really cares about their business, and their customers puts out! It was genuine, and made the experience that much better! THIS PLACE!! After a long international flight into JFK and driving back to Boston with hungry kids, I stumbled on Da Giorgio, and it changed everything. The restaurant was packed but we were seated in minutes, surrounded by people talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves.

Our waiter was attentive, dinner started with fresh homemade baked bread and churned butter. Everything looked handpicked, fresh that day, and every dish was outstanding. My wife’s seafood fra diavolo was the best she’s ever had, my kids devoured their pasta, and my spaghetti and meatballs were so good I had to admit (sorry Mom in heaven), even though I'd get slapped for saying, they were the best I’ve ever tasted.

The chef even came out to greet guests.. a rare and special touch. I’ll be stopping here every trip into the City, and I can’t wait to dive deeper and deeper into the extensive and authentic menu. Truly amazing!“

“I took my family to la riserva last week. We had an amazing dinner. My girls loved the pasta fagioli!!! They also enjoyed their meals; pasta with marinara and the chicken parmigiana with green beans. My husband and I equally enjoyed our meals. The service was great. Our waitress was knowledgeable and everything came out in a timely manner. I will definitely recommend la riserva to my friends.“

“Wife and I flew into JFK late one Friday. We were famished , it was 1030 by the time we got to Arthur Ave.. We parked and walked , came upon people eating alfresco. We asked if any place was still serving. The "MAN" Vic asked what we would like, from one of the tables. In no time we had a bottle of Vino Tinto in front of us and people were making us try food they were dining on. I felt like I was at my friends ,' THE PIAZZAS " house. “As a creature of habit, when I find something I like, I keep ordering it forever and ever. And as an ex-pat, born-and-raised Italian, pizza is akin to religion and a great tasting pizza is akin to experiencing the Beatific Vision! But enough with the Catholic references! Let’s talk about P&M’s pizza! I have been ordering my usual extra-large pie (half “margherita” and the other half “salsiccia”) since 2008! Over the years, I got to know the owner (who personally makes the pies) and he goes to great lengths to find the best quality ingredients for his pizzas. And you can taste the difference in the flavor of the tomato sauce, the mozzarella cheese, the olive oil, the herbs. As all Italians know, a good pizza begins with the the base—the dough or crust—that must be a perfect balance of crispy-and-chewy, and P&M’s nails it each and every time!

The pie I ordered yesterday was $23 plus tax, (unheard of!!!) which was delivered to my doorstep in less than 20 minutes (please tip your delivery guy) together with a coupon. After you collect 9 coupons, your 10th extra-large, “margherita” pizza is free!!! In 16 years of ordering from P&M, I’ve enjoyed quite a number of free pizzas too!

P&M Classic Pizza and Restaurant is THE place if you want to experience the best pizza in Hamilton Heights!

PS. I didn’t give a star-review for the category “atmosphere” because in 16 years, I’ve only ordered for delivery (I told you I’m a creature of habit).

“Phenomenal from start to finish!! We were lucky to have the place to ourselves for an early dinner. Dani, co-owner & chef, greeted us with a warm welcome. You could tell right away she had a genuine interest in making our experience special. We started out with a creamy, simple burrata that came with homemade focaccia. The bread was SO perfect. We each had salmon with Israeli couscous and broccolini. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired nicely with the wine suggested by Dani. Then dessert…it was so difficult to pick just one!!! So we got three! Ana, the other owner, is the evil genius behind the to die for desserts!! Tiramisu, mascarpone cheesecake (we took it to go) and an apple cider donut with vanilla ice cream. (The donut was so absolutely divine that my boyfriend ordered a second serving!!) And can I just say the cappuccinos were on point! My mouth is watering just thinking about it all again! I hope others visit and enjoy the fabulous food, service and atmosphere at Mambo. We don’t live around the corner, but will definitely make the drive back because the whole experience was just that good. I wish Dani and Ana much success. “Chef Chris was professional, punctual, and helped me host the most amazing dinner party for my mom‘s birthday in the Hamptons. He created a fantastic menu and was able to accommodate all dietary restrictions while keeping the meal, smooth, consistent, and absolutely delicious. He is not only a delight to work with, but incredibly easy to coordinate with. He was such a pleasure to have in the kitchen, helped me prepare the table and made me feel at ease, even though it was very probable that our outdoor celebration might get ruined by the rain. 12 out of 10 if you’re hosting a dinner party in the Hamptons or in Aspen, he is your guy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone for any occasion.“

“Saggio is a far and away a main staple of the neighborhood and has been for years. I've been here many times and have never left unsatisfied.

Is it the best Italian you've ever had, especially in a city like New York? Probably not. But they're insanely consistent and the service is warm and friendly--especially their bar staff. They have a lot of employees that have been there for years and very much care for the clientele they serve and they make an effort to actually remember you.

I'm a fan of their frequent rotating dinner specials that change from season-to-season. They rarely miss. I've also never had something off of their main menu that I've ever disliked, and I love to try new things, so it's nice to have a wide spread to let you adventure out, but you can always find the regular go-tos as well.

It's a relief to have somewhere that you can trust like them in Hudson Heights.

The wife and I are a big fan of their bottomless brunch on the weekends. Their back patio is a gorgeous little cozy nook in the middle of the city that blocks out all of the noise from the busy street in front of it.

Since they changed out the old tables to booths, the ambiance has felt very cozy. Vibes are on-point.

If you come back frequently, you'll see a lot of regulars at the bar during happy hour, and people aren't afraid to engage in conversation, which is abnormal (and welcome) in recent times. I've randomly met some pretty cool people.“

My friend and I both had the minestrone soup and the fennel salad with shrimp, expertly prepared and perfectly seasoned. Capping off our experience, our reservation was intentionally set for 6:30 PM - in August 2024, Saturday dnnertime entertainment is jazz standards in chord melody form expertly played by Raphael Silverman on a gorgeous Gibson Johnny Smith archtop guitar through a Henrikson Bud Six amp.
