Always hits the spot and revives me! The bagels are consistently perfect, soft and delicious, my favorite is pumpernickel but their egg everything is also great. I go with SEC +avocado and hashbrown, SPK. The portions are always great and loaded. And lastly, can't beat their prices! We love Henry's!“

“I have been a long time customer, since the early 80’s. For the first time I had lunch at the Hot Bar and met the new executive chef Chris Smith while I was serving myself. “I was looking for authentic NY bagels, which most sellers don't have.Got lucky at Kathy's Bagels. Just discovered this location, brought home 2 bagels, toasted the 'everything bagel' added butter. Delicious!! Perfect texture and so tasty! Also bought the cheddar bagel, I'm so looking forward to having soon. I was pleasantly surprised with the vast number of foods they offer, from deli to hot prepared meals and more. “Try the 'Quesadilla Guatemalteca' *hint this ain't the mexican quesadilla you're thinking of.Baked fresh daily here is the 'Guatamalan Quesadilla' made of rice flour and cheese. Baked in sheets and served in squares like a cornbread but a lot more interesting.Give it a try and grab a coffee to wash it down for a breakfast treat.“

“A nice place for all day eats. Had lunch and it was pretty good. The El Chapo and toro were amazing. A bit pricey but worth it. It gets really crowded though so best to order online. The location decent so not too hard to get to. Definitely would recommend. Look forward to trying their breakfast.“

For some reason almost every bagel place has terrible feng shui, they make you crowd into a cramped corner and you are in everybody's way while you wait for your order, or you gotta stand amongst the tables with your butt in somebody's face. “I've been here twice now in the last few months and just... yum. Truly one of the best TEC's I've had in years, on a perfectly made bagel. It's been quiet the two times I've gone in, but the staff is lovely, it's a welcoming, warm place, and while the sandwiches are not $3, the quality absolutely matches the price. I get feisty when I pay a lot for mediocre food. I got what I paid for here. It's worth it. Trust me. Highly recommend.“

“Excellent bagels made in store. This shop is very popular with locals. Lines at peak times. I rated atmosphere at five because it’s possible to speak with other locals at tables and chairs (5 tables and 15 chairs including a single table and chair next to a south facing window -great sun trap on a cold morning). My favourite is an everything bagel with cream cheese toasted and coffee.“

“I love this place. I normally go there in the morning, so this review is pretty much based on the bagels or bagel sandwiches I get. But they are great. The bagels are made there. They're awesome. They make the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches even more delicious. Their coffee is good and the staff is friendly. I can only imagine their Latino food is just as good. Street parking is limited but that's the only thing that is even remotely negative and that's not their fault! I would say if you try them, you won't be disappointed.“

On a recent visit, a new employee made some rookie mistakes that I brought up to the owner. He addressed the situation right away and more than made up for the only negative experience I've ever had there.

Last week, I ordered ahead to make sure they wouldn't run out of the bagels I wanted, and the person working that morning greeted me with a huge smile and my order all ready to go. He seemed genuinely excited to help me, as the staff always appears to truly enjoy what they do and make customers happy.

“Great food great atmosphere“

“I have been going to this bagel shop for like four years now. It is the best bagel shop that I have found within a 6 mile radius. The ladies who work the front are so sweet and have incredible memories.

I am writing this review immediately after I had a peak Hastings Own Bagel experience. I walk into the store, she says: “Bad boy, scallion cream cheese, no toasted, iced coffee 2 sugars, black, large.” Needless to say I was out of there two minutes after entering.

In my probably 500 orders there has only ever been one mistake and it was when they had a new staff member and he confused me and someone else’s orders.

I talk about their bagels to people literally worldwide. They hold up incredibly well frozen and take like 3 days to get properly stale. The crumb is incredible, the crust is great. Literally what more could you ask for from a bagel shop.

Ok now on to the product more specifically and portions. I really think they have it down pat for the cream cheese to bagel ratio, there is never too much or two little, it’s a good serving and I feel like it is perfectly satiating. They have a great selection of bagels and have a pretty good spread variety. I personally go for the bad boy because everything is too far for me. They have a good griddle setup, whenever I get an egg and cheese or a BEC I find myself enjoying it, they could use a little more egg sometimes but I get it, trump’s America.

Anyways, this bagel shop may be my favorite store in the world thank you guys for dominating the Hastings bagel economy.“
