“LORE in Brooklyn is an absolute gem that deserves all the praise it gets—and then some! Every visit feels like a masterclass in hospitality, thanks to Jay, whose impeccable attention to detail and warm, welcoming nature make you feel like a cherished guest every time. The team's thoughtful touches extend beyond the food, creating a welcoming space for everyone, including four-legged friends in the outdoor seating area.
We've been fortunate enough to dine here on several occasions, and LORE never ceases to amaze. Every dish showcases an inspired balance of flavors and textures. The Kimchi Uttapam is a standout, blending vibrant spices and tangy, fermented flavors into a dish that’s as comforting as it is innovative. The Biscuits & Gravy with mushroom coconut ragout, chili crisp, and a perfectly fried egg is divine—comfort food elevated.
The atmosphere is cozy yet refined, making it the perfect spot for a special afternoon out or a casual gathering with friends. The team’s passion for what they do shines through in every aspect, from the creative menu to the exceptional service.
LORE is easily one of our favorite spots in Brooklyn, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, do yourself a favor and make a reservation—you’ll be blown away!“

“Amazing food, super flavorful and very light feeling where you don’t feel gross after eating. Service was great shoutout to Rakesh, very kind and fast server. And the fact that it is HALAL on top it, incredible. I go to a lot of Indian restaurants and this is one of best places I’ve been to.“

“We love dining or getting takeout from Indian Kitchen. All of the vegetarian and meat based dishes are exceptional. Everything tastes fresh and high quality. When dining in, the service is always superb. They give great recommendations and sometimes a free rice pudding :)“

“It’s good mainly because it’s hard to get authentic bengali dishes in Nyc. They really need to tone down the heat level on certain dishes like the Phuchka and Chilli Chicken. If we speak about authenticity, most Calcutta restaurants do let you tone down the heat….even roadside Phuchka sellers.
The parantha was dry and hard. Everything else was as close to the authentic flavor as you can get outside Kolkata.“

“When I walked in the restaurant the delicious aromas let me know I made a good choice. The food was absolutely amazing with vegan/vegetarian options and even a complimentary gluten free appetizer. The staff was welcoming and the service great. The prices were reasonable, but the best part was the delicious food!!“

“We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“

“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“

“The best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. I have visited this spot multiple times over the years and it never disappointed. They take pride in their food. It can be a bit pricey but
It’s worth EVERY penny.
The butter chicken and saag paneer are out of this world.“

“What a great restaurant! If you like Indian Food, don’t hesitate to go! The food was AMAZING! They definitely know what they’re doing!!! We’ll be back!! I am adding to this review since I came back a lot sooner than I thought. Here’s what I had and it was amazing. Again, this such a great addition to our restaurant line up in the area. Don’t miss it. It’s great! must try the Atari paneer .“

“This is a nice, smaller Indian restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was very good. The prices were very reasonable, especially for NYC. The meals were good sized portions- we were disappointed that we couldn't take our leftovers back to our hotel because it lacked a fridge and microwave- would've made a great lunch the next day.
We shared Tandoori Chicken, Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan- ALL very good. They do not serve alcohol- that was the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. A nice cocktail or beer would have gone along well with the meal. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the food.“

“Overall, it was pretty good. Chili chicken momos were really good and stayed crispy even when cooked in sauce. The garlic naan was fantastic and very well made. The vegetable thali was overall really good, but the dal was a little bland, in my opinion. They're very generous with the amount of rice they give you.
I was a little disappointed by the tandoori chicken. It was a little underseasoned, and one of the pieces was very overcooked and dry. The butter chicken was made well and tasted alright; it was too sweet/not savory enough for me. Too much added sugar, personally.
Service was good.“

“Do you ever just walk into a place and KNOW it’s going to get a 5 star review!?! Well, Gulab Indian Restaurant was this place. I cannot rave enough about the food, it was just amazing. And oh my God, the prices! Oh my God, the prices are AMAZING. First time in my life fine Indian cuisine was actually affordable. One of my favorite things about this place was the candles, they’re not electric! Lastly, the customer service was top line. The gentlemen working this store were so respectful and helpful. Would come back any day!“

“I was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly not very busy. The dining area is cafeteria style and there was plenty of seating available. I decided to go with the paneer butter Masala dosa since they only have it available on the weekends. I asked them to make it as mild as possible since South Indian food tends to be very spicy and I cannot handle the heat. The dosa was paper thin which is exactly what I wanted. The filling was delicious and I loved the coconut chutney sauce that came with it. I got the mango lassi drink and it was refreshing and delicious, just wish the drink portions were bigger. The food was very authentic South Indian and it tasted just like what I remember eating when I went to Kerala. This place is out of the way for me but I would definitely return if I'm in the area.
Vegetarian options: El menú es totalmente vegetariano.“

“I live within walking distance from Cardamom restaurant and eat there often. The food is consistently excellent, and the people are always welcoming. Highly recommended! If you're not in the neighborhood, it's easy to get there on the subway (it's right between the 40th St. and 46th St. stations on the 7 subway line on Queens Blvd).“

“We had a great experience here just a few minutes ago when we were here for lunch. The food was really tasty. “The food that I got for takeout was amazingly good!!!! I got the butter chicken, garlic naan bread, and gulab jamun. I also got the mango lassi drink, and it was really good too! Service was great, didn’t take long at all for my food to be made. Pricing is decently good too, not too expensive but also not too cheap. 10/10 overall experience with everything. I will come back here again for more takeout, but next time I’m trying the chicken biryani for sure!“

“Friendly service, tasty food with good portions, great prices. I visited twice during my stay in the city. Once I got chana masala and the other time for samosas. Both were great, though the chana did not have much spice. If I lived in the area I'm sure I'd be a frequent visitor.
God bless the Sikhs.“

“The food at Passerine is delicious, though the portions are on the smaller side. The ambiance is truly outstanding—clearly a lot of thought went into creating such a welcoming and stylish space. I used to frequent the previous restaurant in this location, SONA, and I have to say the bartenders there were exceptional. It might be worth considering bringing back some of that talent to elevate the bar experience even further“

“We were walking by and decided to go in because the space looked beautiful. As soon we walked in, it felt like we stepped in a different dimension because all the outdoor noise got cancelled out (they must gave made it soundproof). We were so well taken care of, immediately got water and EXTREMELY friendly staff! And the food!!! There should be another review dedicated for DELICIOUSNESS of the food!!! Naans were to die for!!! The staff were kind, helpful, friendly and respectful!! They even gave us kheer (rice pudding) at the end on the house ?✨????
All in all, go check them out. It’s unusual to find good Indian/Pakistani restaurants around here ?
Vegetarian options: It’s Indian so there’s more vegetarian options than your typical vegetarian restaurant! And too far too delicious ✨“

“While in NYC we had a craving for Indian food, and Bombay Chowk was a great choice.
The Indian restaurants we are used to have spiciness scales when ordering, but at Bombay Chowk the food is prepared at set levels of spice.
My wife had the chicken Tikka Masala and it was slightly sweet. Still flavorful and tasty.
I opted for chicken Vindaloo and the server warned me it would be spicy. Thankfully I’m used to spicy Vindaloo and oh boy did it pack a punch. Very flavorful, the sauce was thick and more like a stew than a curry. The chicken was cooked well and not dry.
All in all, it’s a solid option for Indian food in NYC.“

“This place in Queens was such a wonderful find! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish packed with authentic Nepali flavors that felt like a true taste of home. Every bite was rich and satisfying, and you could tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff was also welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. If you’re craving real Nepali food, I highly recommend Red Panda—it’s a place that does justice to our amazing cuisine!“
