“Impeccable service, intimate booths, well stocked bar, and approachable feel. Our waiter made me feel like we were old friends, he was accommodating and helpful with selections. They have a well stocked bar and I had an excellent manhattan and even a vesper. The wedge had some of the best blue cheese dressing I've ever had, and I've had my fair share of wedges. The burger was delicious and the sesame bun was perfect. It felt super cozy and inviting!“

“Happened upon Grand Day Cafe on a Thursday, late morning. The restaurant is clean, bright and nicely decorated. While a full dining area the acoustics were perfect for a quiet conversation. The host and server were cheerful and pleasant and very attentive, checking in often. I ordered the Chicken Salad Melt on sourdough, which was grilled to perfection. The chicken salad had great flavor and just the right mix of ingredients. I got chips instead of fries and the presentation was inviting and even included a spig of parsley. Coffee was good and my cup stayed full the entire time. Check out their specials of the day board across from the checkout counter. One thing not note is they are a breakfast/lunch venue with limited hours, closing at 2:30 on weekdays and 3:00 on weekends.“

“Food is always amazing. It was shocking to be a little hole in the wall bar, that all food was home cooked. They have fair prices, and a verity to choose from. I was told owner cooks all items herself. She definitely puts her heart and soul into it. They have everything from potato, lasagna soup, to wings, pizza, or a fully loaded chef salad. “We went on a Saturday morning and the donut counter was Really Busy! We were able to seat ourselves right away and had service within just a few minutes. The coffee was great!! I ordered the French Toast and my husband got the burrito, smothered in sausage gravy. My french toast was good, but a little doughy. I like mine a little more done. My husband said the burrito and gravy were good. He also ordered a side of homefries and for the price, he definitely didn't get a large enough portion. He said they were good, a lot of garlic! Over all it was good, not great. A little expensive for breakfast. We ordered donuts on the way out and again good, but nothing I have to make a special trip back for.“

“Went in to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff who helped us knew it was her bday, it was mentioned 3-4 times which was cool! Happy hour before dinner was nice, drinks were very good. Bar staff was kind. Dinner service was great, food was delicious. Spent 2.5 hours there or so and enjoyed my evening with the wife!“

“What a hidden gem I never knew existed for the last 8 years I’ve delivered in and around this area. The food looked so good I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture. If you follow me I’ve been posting more pictures on reviews so I’ll definitely be back to eat again. I had the patty melt and my wife had a burger and my 6yo had mini corn dogs. Everything was cooked to order and fresh and it didn’t take long at all. It just after the lunchtime rush so we timed it right. Also as we were about to get our food we noticed there was a family/group area just to the left of the entrance so we didn’t need to sit in the bar area with a child but we didn’t mind too much cause the window seating was great for people watching. Really my only complaint is that they didn’t point us to the family seating area but it is a seat yourself establishment so I won’t hold it against them. Overall loved it can’t wait to go back.“

I stood for 40 minutes with two others and half the time that table was empty. The whole counter up front should be removed to make room for customers waiting. It's truly an awful experience coming to Olympic Diner when it's busy.A rare bird of a restaurant, a local, classic diner, but with genuinely good food and service. The owning family all work there and are extremely friendly and ever present. They will remember who you are.“

“Atmosphere is very laid back. I came here looking for Blackbird Kitchen, thinking it was a restaurant, and was surprised to find that it’s the name of the food sold in the bar. So Blackbird Kitchen is not its own separate restaurant. You order food at the bar and they bring it to your table. Service was quick and the food was good overall. Parking was a bit confusing. Do not park in the parking lot before 6:30pm! You will need to find street parking, which was not hard. Outdoor seating area. They have live bands.Parking: Don’t park in the parking lot before 6:30pm. Free street parking down the side streets.“

The service was quick and friendly. We went during a peak time so it was hard to find an open table right away (you seat yourself). The restaurant was clean, warm, and buzzing.Parking: There is a free lot in the back and extremely limited street parking. There's generally a constant turnover of a few cars in the parking lot but you might have to wait a few minutes for a spot to open up.“

It was sort of strange that we had a 4 o’clock reservation for 10 and immediately upon seating, the waitress said we had a two hour time limit as they had a lot of reservations for 6 o’clock. Cute, clean little spot in Grandview on First Ave. Easy to grab a parking spot when we arrived (around 11:30 on a Sunday/St Patrick's day). Welcomed and sat by the friendly host. I have to note here: literally everyone is really genuinely friendly to everyone. Love that! I ordered the Delaney breakfast (2 eggs, meat, and 2 slices of French toast or pancakes.) I got over easy eggs, sausage, and French toast and whoa nellie I was so happy! Eggs and sausage were perfect, simple, and just what I had hoped for. Then there's the brioche French toast which is insanely good! The two slices are huge! Mr got the Reuben sammy with fries and really liked it. That's his go-to diner order and he loved the corned beef (tasty, generous portion) and the bread was great because it's a bit thicker than average so it didn't just fall apart. Fries are crispy and good. Also worth noting: every table has a locally made hot sauce that's also really nice! All in all, loved it. Great experience all around and absolutely would recommend it and will go back again soon. The prices are reasonable and it's just a touch better than a typical greasy spoon diner.“

The server steered us in the right direction on cocktails which landed us on a classic old fashioned and the magic of the unicorn, both of which hit the spot. For food, we started with the tempura cauliflower which set the bar very, very high. Meaty and satisfying, with a delicious onion topping and delicate curry sauce. We went on to the grilled octopus, which was honestly some of the best I have had - tender as you can get. Finally, we shared the mushroom pasta with the added short rib. The split portion was more than enough to round out the meal for us. This dish was incredibly rich but it was topped off by a clever and bright salsa verde that brought it all into balance. As we finished up, the place started really filling up and I'm not surprised. We headed out after picking up a bottle of black walnut old fashioned mix to take home.“

“This was my first visit to Roosters. Customer service was great! Ordered 10 traditional wings and tots, fruit punch. Everything was good except unfortunately they use chicken that has clearly been pumped with growth hormones and because of that reason I really couldn't enjoy the chicken wings.“

“I found this place on Google Reviews where over 1.1k people rated this place as great and they were spot on. I ordered the wings and ribs. It was great. I opted for the spicy BBQ sauce. It was sweet and spicy. The beans were great, the portions were large. My son got the Helluva Hangover burger and it hit the spot. My wife ordered a Mish mash of apps and sides, all great! The owner stopped by several tables to talk, including ours. It was like we were in small town America where everyone knows everyone. “My coworkers and I dined at the Pinnacle Golf Club for our end of year celebration. The food was great, I'm vegetarian but they did have a chicken dish. The facility was clean from top to bottom. Tables were set and the atmosphere was elegant and the traffic flow in the dinning room was wonderful. Our event theme was casino night so my work had fake money to gamble with. I will say the bar was small and there were 2 bartenders but 1 had no idea how to make drinks and was almost in training or pulled in last minute to help. Once she got more comfortable the line flowed better at the bar. We had a great time at our event!“

I recommend this place if you are a group of two or less just due to size of space. There isn't a ton of seating, maybe 10 two seat tables. Once the seats are taken, you have to wait for availability. The coffee is great! It was self-serve with the option or half and half or oat milk in their fridge.
