I recently lost my brother, and the grief has been overwhelming. On one of the worst days, when I truly shouldn’t have been out in public, I walked into Jimmy John’s completely falling apart. I was crying, shaking, and honestly just trying to breathe.

Most people would have ignored me — or pretended not to notice.
But George, working behind the counter that day, didn’t look away.

He looked right at me and gently asked if I was okay. And it wasn’t the polite, automatic kind of question people ask when they hope you’ll say “I’m fine.” It was sincere. It was human. It was someone seeing me when I felt invisible.

When I told him I wasn’t okay, he didn’t judge, didn’t rush, didn’t brush me off. Instead, he softly asked if it would be alright for him to give me a hug. I said yes — because in that moment, I desperately needed that human connection.

He hugged me.
He prayed for me and my family.
He made me feel held, seen, and supported in a way I didn’t even realize I needed.

I walked into Jimmy John’s broken, but I walked out feeling just a little less alone. And sometimes, that tiny bit of comfort is everything.

The food was great, of course — but this review isn’t about sandwiches.
It’s about George, and the kind of compassion you can’t train into someone. Jimmy John’s, please recognize the incredible person you have working for you. He didn’t just serve a customer that day.
He helped carry a grieving woman through one of the hardest moments of her life.

Shop was empty, so the worker asked my name when I walked in & pointed me to the pick up area. Which is nice because some people will let u just wonder around for a bit looking.“

“This place was amazing! we were so thankful to find out they offered gluten free subs! that is awesome when you have 2 out of 5 people in your family with Celiacs Disease. they do not have a kids meal gluten free bread though, but they still gave us the kids price. it was seriously such a blessing because you cant order food for everyone and tell the 6 year old too bad you cant eat here. we appreciated that they also sold gluten free cookies to go with the kids meal! seriously, this place is amazing and we do plan on returning.“

“First time coming, found Mr.Zubs online. The food looked amazing. I ordered carry out from an extremely nice girl. I ordered the Rocky Steak Sub and a side of Mushrooms. The Mushrooms were 7 dollars and I got maybe 7 tiny mushrooms. They were delicious but can’t justify the price. The Steak Sub was so disappointing, no cheese, no mayo, barely any meat extremely small for 11.50$. I only reason for a 5 Star, I can’t penalize the workers. They are told to serve tiny portions. However, unfortunately I will not ever return to this extremely High price low quality food.“

“I had went into this Subway to order a meatball sub, I know I had to use the bathroom but not so soon, I thought nothing of it until I had noticed this homeless looking man leave the bathroom 5 minutes prior, I had went into the bathroom and laid my eyes upon this sickening discovery. Luckily one of the nicest workers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting named Ryan cleaned this up so quick and efficiently, I watched him get on all fours and lick it inside out till there was no spot left, even being so selfless as to crease his Jordan 1's. It said they offer curbside pickup so you don’t have to get out of your car, just have to call when you arrive, so I did and the guy on the phone was so rude, huge manager finally brought my food out and I said “thank you, have a good one” and he just glared at me and walked away. Didn’t say a word.“

“This was our first visit. My daughter loves subs and wanted to eat at Penn Station for her birthday. The food was excellent, and the staff was very patient with us fumbling through our order. “I stopped in for lunch and was very impressed with both the staff and the food. The team was extremely welcoming and helpful, especially when I couldn’t decide what to order. One of the employees kindly recommended a few options and guided me toward the Spicy Nacho Chicken Sub, which turned out to be an excellent choice. They were also accommodating when I requested extra toppings, which I truly appreciated.

The owner of this franchise always takes the time to chat with us, staff know our orders by memory despite there being a month or more between visits, and the food is great.
