“My partner and I picked up a gluten-free dinner set (takeaway) and, oh my, it was delicious and the portions were huge. The set could easily feed 8 people. The general tao chicken and the chicken fried rice were my favourite parts of the dinner set. Finding a celiac-safe Chinese restaurant is rare. They’re able to make GF modifications to many dishes too - just ask! We will be back and I’m excited to try more items from the menu.“

“We experienced a fabulous luncheon buffet at the Oshawa Mandarin restaurant today. The food was well prepared, displayed and very delicious. LOTS of variety! From the moment we arrived and until we left the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our server Cynthia was great. We were quite impressed that manager Isabel spoke with us twice. We live nearby so picked it up and paid cash as you get a free menu item over a certain amount if you do this. “Easily my new favourite place, the last 4 years I have been searching Oshawa area for my go-to Chinese takeout spot. I must have tried them all. While this place is a little pricer than others, it checks all the boxes. Standouts for me are the ginger beef, Soo guy chicken and chicken low-mein. We usually get a family meal than add on some additional dishes not offered in the combination meals. Everything has always been delicious and consistent. Staff are always very friendly and we end up having food for 3 days or more.“

“we ordered takeout food here a few days ago, our food was ready quickly even though they were very busy. We left, got home and realized they had forgotten to include the rice we ordered. I called them and the owner said they realized it was still there in the kitchen but we had left. It was very busy, phone and walk in customers, so we totally understood. They were very apologetic and said could we come back, we were 25 min away, so we couldn’t. They took our number and we went back again, got another dish and our rice. Each time we got food that was delicious and hot, very piping hot and good size portions. We will be back.“

“Excellent chinese food, fresh, huge portions, tasty, very satisfying. The egg rolls are home made and generous. We spent a 100.00 but you could feed 8 or 9 people easily, lots of leftovers. We will be going back again. I have been searching for good chinese takeout. We found it.“

Came in with my cousins to get some takeout, the owner spoke to us and offered a lot of options since it was our first time they also gave us extra plates and utensils and extra of basically everything. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes, we had finished a movie and all of us were thirsty and the owner had provided us with water aswell! Highly recommend Calypso Queen in Whitby! “Ordered Easter dinner for six people .Everything was excellent, I could not find anything to complain about. The food was cooked to perfection. Everything had a great taste and very full of flavour especially the Chicken balls were so fresh tasting and white inside. The servings per container were generous we even had enough for a dinner of four the next day .“

“It’s hit or miss, but when these guys decide to cook up a delicious meal, they deliver. My only feedback is that they need more flavour in their rice. Maybe a little oyster sauce and sesame oil? It’s very bland tasting.General Tao chicken (although I think they recently changed the coating), Singapore noodles (needs a little more curry but the shrimp is always cooked to perfection) and mushroom egg foo young are the best around.“
