In addition, guests from the first seating walked directly through the event when the sommelier was speaking to our seating, and a rowdy group at the bar made it impossible to hear the sommelier. I encourage the organizers to more closely consider such details for future events as these details detracted from our experience, and made our introduction to The Daughter not as good as it could have been. I love their pizza, if you haven't had pizza from here you're missing out. They do have quite a few option of delicious, specialty pizzas. There are many other good dishes, and the starter menu is a solid, enough to kick start an eating frenzy. But clearly the pizza brings me back. And yes, their portion sizes are good too. My last time here was on a Saturday night around 8, and it was very busy and very noisy. I like busy cause restaurant needs to make money. But the loudness takes away from dining experience, but adds to party vibes. Very hard to have a convo without speaking loud to compete with background though. Make reservations first evening weekends to prevent from waiting if you just popped in.“

“Good service! Got the steak tartare (snack size), which had an interesting mix of sour and spice. The bread came out toasted hot, so I had to wait a bit before eating it. Tasted alright, but it wasn’t exceptional and I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again.“

We had the Drunken Wild Sablefish with a sauce that's seriously to die for, the Prawn Toast Okonomiyaki that was jaw-dropping, and the Mantao Steam Buns with smooth, silky butter—everything tasted superb. Our cocktails were expertly crafted and incredible! Chef Kevin, Chef Danvee, and Kim are a very talented, hardworking team and truly elevated out dining experience. As an influencer, I’m always chasing great food and vibes, and this spot nailed both.
Chef Deso personally presented each dish at the table, starting with their incredible bone marrow where are the Chef blow? Torch touch.
The house wine was offered by the bottle for the meal. ((Thank you))
I asked Chef Deso to create something special for me, and he delivered a perfectly cooked steak paired with one of the most creamy, dreamy gnocchi I’ve had in Toronto. My date couldn’t stop raving about the Tuna and grilled octopus too.
What really stood out is that Chef runs the back of the house basically solo and with his wife, pouring so much heart into every plate and glass.
We did their dining menu special and honestly, for the quality and generosity, the price is ridiculously reasonable. I literally thought the price was per person, but it was per couple and I suggest this place to anyone that wants to take a date out for great food and beverages that’s affordable.
It felt like a true privilege to eat there.
If you’re in Toronto, do yourself a favor and book this hidden gem. Highly recommend!”

“We had an outstanding dining experience at Enigma on Aug 28, 2026. Enigma is a restaurant that we've wanted to dine at for quite some time, and the wait was worth it.

We had the 8 course tasting menu and each course was fantastic. The relaxing atmosphere in an uncrowded setting made the dining experience that much more enjoyable. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and this point was not lost on each individual that served us. Many thanks for the complimentary extras that were provided as part of this evening.

The sommelier and all the servers were friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. The variety of the food and the pace of the dinner was perfect, allowing both of us to savour and remember the food and tastes. It was a treat to meet Chef Barnes who personally presented and served the Scottish salmon dish to us.

Of particular note was the non-alcoholic drink pairing that Enigma offers, something that was pioneered by Enigma and is now being done at other restaurants. This was a pleasant surprise to us, since neither of us are heavy wine drinkers. A shout out to the bartender/server who provided us with a take home sample of the favourite of the drinks that we were served.

Thanks to everyone who made this everning a memorable experience. We will definitely return in the future and recommend Enigma to others.

It really feels like a hidden gem. The kind of place you want to keep to yourself, but also feel compelled to recommend. If you’re around Little Italy and looking for a relaxed spot with excellent coffee and a cool, laid back energy, this place is absolutely worth a stop.“

“Tried the half Vinegar Chicken and really enjoyed it. The paprika-heavy rub gave the chicken plenty of flavor, and it was roasted perfectly with juicy meat and crispy skin. Despite the name, don’t expect an acidic, vinegar-forward gravy. Instead, the sauce is subtle and slightly sweet from the roasted shallots, complementing the chicken without overpowering it.

The roasted potatoes and pickled pepperoncini were excellent accompaniments, adding both heartiness and a bright, tangy contrast to the dish.

Apparently, this is Danny’s signature dish, inspired by one served at Bernie’s in Brooklyn and it’s easy to see why it’s become a standout.“
