“The most delicious rice balls, I have ever eaten and I am a foodie and Japanese Canadian. The rice was cooked perfectly and the filling was delicious and plentiful. A delicious lunch. I think I will pick up a few more for my trip today. The owner was super nice and encouraged me to stay and work on my laptop for a few hours.“

“Nice environment, great latte and was able to stock up on my favourite bean as well. Today is Nov 29 and it was toasted Nov 25 which is very good in my opinion. $22.00 for the bag.

There are some areas to sit but go early Saturday to grab a table. There is also a workshop area in the back with classes occurring and it’s neat to watch while awaiting your coffee.

It’s located in an industrial type area in Markham. Lots of parking on site.“

“💜📍 • Had such a great experience at this dog-friendly cafe, Dopapen! When we walked in there was flowers and art all around and since it was the afternoon it wasn’t packed.

This cafe can get busy and for a good reason.

The barista was so friendly and when we mentioned we may grab snacks, she brought us some of her own to share. So sweet and thoughtful.

The drinks were original and tasted great as well. So thankful that oat milk is available as well for anyone that has dairy allergies.“

“Had the chance to try this bakery’s most popular cake. It’s called the Ovaltine Crispy Chiffon Cake. It was light, fluffy and not too sweet. The Rosemary decorations when eaten with the cake, adds another dimension to the taste.
This was purchased by someone in the party I attended recently. I noticed, I was not the only one that enjoyed the cake. Apparently, it was purchased from a bakery where the food court is located.
The owner was quite friendly as I inquired about the bakery. Price $25 as per the bakery’s website. They even provided 1 candle with the cake. Not sure if it was included in the price or not.

“Cozy cafe with lots of options for coffee lovers! There is more seating at the back of the cafe that can’t be seen from the store front that offers desk working space and outlets. They had a projector set up during our visit with a winter lodge setting projected that made the space so cozy! Please note that they do have a 1 hr seating limit which is more than enough time to enjoy the space and ambience of the cafe :)“

“Definitely my favourite coffee roaster. I drink my coffee black and Social coffee beans have the exact flavours that I love. My favourites are the light roasted Ethiopian varieties but lately I have also really enjoyed the espresso roasts from Costa Rica and Papua New Guinea. I highly recommend their coffee.“

“This little spot makes some of the best Vietnamese coffee I’ve had. The salted coffee is my go-to. It’s bold, smooth, and just the right mix of sweet and salty.

Their chè ba màu is the best. Packed with chewy beans, creamy coconut, and a heap of sweet toppings, it’s rich, refreshing, and full of texture. Every spoonful is layered and satisfying.

Whether you’re cooling off in the summer or need a strong caffeine fix, this is the place to be.“

“At the st. Catharine’s location at the Pen Center. I’m here with my daughter. Had the wings and fries and the dessert Divide and conquer Belgian Waffle! “Went to Gate Cafe to get some work done and was pleased to find plenty of seating with nearby outlets. While I was there, I had to try their Brisket Poutine, which was $20.

The poutine is definitely big enough to share, making it a great value. The brisket was tender and flavourful. What really stands out is how generous they are with the gravy and sauce—it's incredibly rich and savoury. My one piece of advice is to not mix everything all at once. The sauces are so abundant that it can quickly make the fries soggy, so it's best to enjoy it in smaller, well-portioned bites.

Overall, the poutine was a fantastic treat. Paired with the fast and friendly staff, my experience at Gate Cafe was a productive and delicious one.“

“I visited this Tim Hortons late in the evening around 8–9 PM, and I was truly impressed by Lovepreet. She was handling everything completely on her own, with a long line inside and also managing the drive-through at the same time.
Despite how busy it was, Lovepreet stayed calm, focused, and extremely fast-paced. She worked very hard and kept things moving smoothly while still providing friendly and efficient service.
It really showed how dedicated and hardworking she is. Managing both the front counter and drive-through alone during a rush is not easy, but she handled it amazingly. She truly deserves recognition for her outstanding effort and professionalism.“

The actual coffee was nothing special, which was disappointing, but we loved the matcha and looking around at the decorations and books in the shop.

Depending on the time of day you go it can get busy.“

“This is one of my top cafes in the GTA. I would like to gate keep it if I could but the place deserves the recognition. Beautiful nooks to read and catch up with friends. The place has character, with a it’s exposed brick and tons of books to choose from. I like to come here to do some light work. Amazing ambiance. Only downside is that during the winter it can get a bit cold.“

I've never actually sat down for a meal here, but I've stopped by many many times to grab a fresh Colombian coffee, some baked goods or some arepas and empanadas (or all of the above!). I love that most everything is gluten-free, and the food is so comforting and delicious. I also love supporting a local business.“
