“The Samosas are the best in Mississauga.

Came.down to this place when we were visiting the area and wanted to have a quick bite.

So checked in here and ordered chicken Samosas. The lady at the restaurant mentioned there would be a wait time for 10 minutes. While we waited, we also checked out the impressive sweet section.

Coming to the Samosas, they are perfect. The chicken mince was well seasoned and the flaky pastry was excellent. Absolutely loved it.

We absolutely love the taste.. it isn't as sweet as well and overtime since 2010 till now their taste has been improved and quality is getting much better and flavors are so many to pick from.

“Wonderful small cafe with relaxing vibe and tasty foods and drinks.
Their sesame latté, custom made specialty coffees and matcha latte are delicious! All baked goods (breads, cheese cakes and desserts) are freshly baked. They are so fresh and yummy, lots of choices too.
Love to spend the mornings reading there with fresh hot coffee with a bun.

“What can I say…. This place is the best. I have been going to Little Rose Cookie Co. For 3 years now for all my special event cookies. I always get asked where I got the cookies from. Steph and her staff have always been great from my very first time they did the event cookies for me. I will be a little rose cookie co for a very very long time to come. Keep up the great work!!!“

“Ok. Daddy O’s Doughnuts are good. Definitely get top rating for letting their yeasty, raised doughnuts rise a lot before frying. The oil temp must have been perfect because they did not feel greasy at all, nor does it taste like reused frying oil. Their fritter is fantastically fluffy with a delicate crunch at the edges and huge chunks of recently in-the-fruit apples. The carrot cake doughnut (not shown because it was so good that it was gone before a photo could be taken) was moist and flavorful, minus about half the amount of the piped on cream cheese frosting. The raised vegan doughnut was fluffy enough that I suspect all the raised doughnut bases are vegan, which detracts not at all from the doughnut experience. IMO, the vegan chocolate frosting tasted much better with coconut oil than the butter based frosting, even with the annoying crunchy candy sprinkles on it. They need fewer fancy toppings and more plain doughnuts that don’t mask or add to the texture. The maple frosting was buttery and mapley with thick-cut bacon pieces. The lemon Bob Marleys, filled generously with English lemon curd was, however, the best with its soft fluffy, chewy raised outside, erupting with the curd from the inside. Did not get any more (yet) because even my husband could not eat more than 2 in a single sitting. Will see how well these sit out, cut open, if they last that long.

I suspect that the typical consumers probably won’t pay the $4-$5 price tags of most the plainer donuts left at 11:30 AM—except for diehard doughnuts aficionados. But honestly, I can put up with a bit of scraping to enjoy the fluffiness of perfectly fried doughnuts that are not gooey from being undercooked or dry from being overly done. This is definitely a dozen I would feel no qualms taking into a room full of foodies, chefs and master bakers. In fact, I think I will.“

“I tried Nora Bakery’s chocolate covered strawberries and pumpkin tart (just in time for fall!) which I bought from Courtyard Farmers’ Market on Gerrard St in Toronto (see photos below). “This local family owned gem is a beloved staple for East Mississauga/ West Etobicoke. The bread, buns, donuts, focaccia and pizza are all made fresh daily on site.
The donuts are famously delicious but get there at opening or you will be disappointed as they go fast.
Breads come out throughout the day and they will slice to order including horizontal for anyone still making grannie sandwiches for tea parties.
Full deli counter with good selection of meats and cheeses.
Huge pastry and Italian cookie selection. Small selection of pastas, tomato pastes risotto and other pantry items.
They also stock excellent quality cooking pans and tools.
Homemade gelato cones and cups as well as Espresso and lattes.

No where to sit so all espresso and snacks are to go and it’s a typical old school family bakery. No fancy styling just great workers and products.

Located in the Longos plaza so lots of parking included accessible.“

I wasn’t expecting anything on such short notice, but the very kind lady (owner?) on the phone took my order and said she would make it right away. It was ready in 40 minutes and decorated beautifully! My boyfriend was so happy, he said it was the best durian cake he’s ever had (and he’s had quite a few) lots of fresh durian inside the cake, and not too sweet. I will be getting this cake for him every year, I cannot thank Happy Cake House enough for such excellent service!!!“

This weekend we stopped by and bought a box of de natas. They were so crispy and flaky and the custard was delightful! A little sweet but worth the indulgence. Unlike other Portuguese bakeries we’ve gone to, Bakery on Mavis’ tart shells are less greasy which is a huge plus! The shell is a thinner as well.

We also tried the corn bread which is a must! It was our first time here and I would definitely come back!

Next time: to try the sweet bread. It looked really fluffy and if the corn bread is any indication of their bread products, I have a feeling this is going to be amazing too!

Side note: Had some questions about the products (esp Portuguese ones as we are new to bakeries specializing in Portuguese treats) but we weren’t able to get confident answers. Will try again next time!

Would love signage in Portuguese and English for the products. Then we could learn the names!“

“We ordered a 10-inch customized cake from La Novita Bakery for our wedding, and they did an amazing job! The cake turned out exactly as we requested, and it was both beautiful and delicious. “We go to the shop at least once a week. This is a Portuguese influenced bakery. The bakery portion always smells so good; they have a full display of sweets and treats that are so visually mouth-watering; they also make delicious looking cakes for your special occasions, or just get an assortment of the treats in individual portions for a party; they slice deli meat and make sandwiches; they have an espresso counter where you can sit and have a bite to eat, and they have a small grocery section. I have never been in this place without it being busy, but it's well worth it! Something for everyone!“

“Great Asian bakery in Mississauga.

Nice assortment of fresh baked goodies and you should come earlier in the day on the weekends if you want to pick from an assortment. They always have a daily special that’s a bargain too.

The Japanese cheesecake (more cake than cheesecake) is nice but not a true Japanese cheesecake. Their pastries, custard egg tarts, and the Swiss rolls are also good.

The only challenge I have is that sometimes the buns aren’t cooked properly so they look done and you tear one open and it’s raw dough inside…“

“Where do I even begin?! This is definately my most favourite banh mi spot. This is family owned and only a few people were working on a Sunday morning but they were friendly and efficient. You can tell they work hard and put their sweat and tears into this family business. Everything is made in house. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are very generous with the meat, especially the cha lua (love this) and I asked for extra pate sauce. I dont know what they put into this sauce aside from pate but it is AMAZING. It probably has mayo or butter mixed into the pate but its creamy and delicious goodness. I wish they sold this on the side. The veggies in the banh mi were very fresh. I cant wait to go back and try the meatball and fried fish banh mis. I will definately make my way back there weekly. It is $5 per sandwich which I think is a steal in this day and age. There is no tax and they only take cash. When they run out of the goods, the close up shop so sometimes they arent open till closing time as advertised. There is lots of parking in this plaza. You have to enter into the plaza where the supermarket is and the banh mi shop is a few stores down. Please support this small business. The owners are so lovely, the food is homemade and tasty, and $5 for a meal is a steal. P.S. I have no pictures of my sandwich because I ate it as soon as I got into my car :)“

“I sent a message and was warmly greeted with an immediate response. I sent pictures of what I was thinking of and despite the bakery being closed for a vacation, they still got back to me promptly. Everything was explained thoroughly and I was given all my options and they were very accommodating with my requests. The cake was beautiful (as seen in the picture) and it was fluffy and moist and not overly sweet (and that includes the decorations).

I’ve been here before for other baked goods but this is the first time getting an actual cake. The price is reasonable, the cake tasted amazing (fresh strawberry filled) and the service is excellent! Thank you HBC for making this birthday special!“
