“It was our first visit and our family group of 7 very much enjoyed the dinner, which was a culinary adventure and not just a meal.

The server was friendly, fun and knowledgeable and helpfully suggested their “feasts” - this allowed us to try almost everything (except some vegetarian options which I will try next time when not outnumbered be strict carnivores:), and save time deliberating our choices.

All the Salatim were excellent, with some unique flavours - we especially liked the Roast Pepper Muhammara, whipped feta, and Za’aluk. The Brisket, lamb and chicken shawarma were all delicious and the potatoes with halloumi and chili may have been the best we ever had.

Chef Anthony stopped by our table a few times to check in, which was a lovely touch; and generally. the atmosphere in the packed restaurant was great.“

The owner cut the meat fresh off the rotisserie, most shawarma shops pre cut their meats & have sit in a heating compartment which dries it out. Beef was amazing with extra beef fat on the rice, chicken was juicy. He gave me extra beef fat when I asked with no issues.

“I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

If you're on the hunt for the best shawarma in the Vaughan area, your search ends at Shawarma Jwan. I recently visited and was absolutely blown away by the quality, flavor, and sheer size of their meals.

We ordered the mixed shawarma plates, and as you can see, they do not hold back! The plates came loaded with a generous bed of fluffy, aromatic yellow rice, topped with a mountain of succulent, perfectly spiced chicken and beef shawarma. The meat was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of authentic flavor—exactly what you crave in a top-tier shawarma.

The sauces were the cherry on top. They were liberally drizzled with a rich, creamy garlic sauce and a vibrant, tangy hot sauce that added the perfect kick. It created a mouth-watering symphony of flavors in every bite.

I also have to highlight the sides. The accompanying salad was fresh and crisp, and the assortment of pickled vegetables—from the vibrant pink turnips and crunchy pickles to the olives and hot peppers—added a wonderful tangy crunch that balanced the richness of the meat perfectly.

I had the opportunity today to pass by and visit my old friend Johnny at his shawarma restaurant on Kennedy Road not far off the 401... @johnnysshawarma is consistently ranked in the top handful of shawarma restaurants in the city and I can honestly say that I've never had better shawarma anywhere (not even when visiting Israel!)... And that says a lot considering with my middle eastern roots (my Dad was from Egypt) this is one of my favorite foods as it's delicious as it is nutritious especially when given the option to swap out the starchy carbs like the insanely good rice and potatoes with equally amazing salads and dips... “Best food place in the world. Recommend the Shish Tawoo but switch something out with fries. Those are THE BEST. The rice is phenomenal too, recommend it a lot. Prices are a bit, but worth it. Service is really nice take out or dine in. You have to at least come here once in your life. The falafels are good too. Please try them for the sake of the restaurant.“
