“I went to Koochini Restaurant & Bar at a friend's invitation. We visited on Saturday, and it was a fantastic experience. The DJs were excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and everyone was having a great time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The beer, whisky, appetizers, and hookah were all excellent.
Most of the guests seemed to be of Iranian background, which gave the place a unique and vibrant atmosphere. If you enjoy hookah, this is definitely a great place to try it. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fun night out.“

“This place is great. Been going here more years than I can count. The service, the food, the portions, the price -- it's been consistently good. I wouldn't pay attention to the low reviews because that hasn't been my experience, and it hasn't been the experience of anyone I know who comes here. Was literally here earlier in the week. The service is always great. The food quality is consistent, and consistently great. And the portions are always generous. There's a reason it's still around. And the hummus! The pita! People come from all over the city to get it. (Totally worth it)

Caveat: this is not a fancy, high attitude dining establishment. But it's comfortable, it's laid back, and the food ... I did say it was delicious right?“

“So, so, so insanely delicious. My favorites were the lamb shank and the koobideh. We came across this restaurant randomly, and I can confidently say it has become one of my favorite spots for Persian food. It’s a cozy, homey place where the food truly speaks for itself, everything was incredibly flavourful and made with care. I also loved that you can swap half the rice for salad for just a $2 charge, which was totally worth it. The owner was wonderful as well, very welcoming and hospitable. “Branzino was good. Asked for it to be deboned but still many bones remained. My husband had a falafel salad with chicken which was so dry and over cooked. Server was pleasant but it's the second time I have been there and food is not great.“

“Pita Land is honestly my favourite food spot, hands down. I've been going here for several years now (since it opened) and the location is so convenient for me that it's become a regular thing. What really gets me is how consistent the quality has stayed the whole time, no matter when I go.

I've ordered from here during late night school projects, after long gym sessions, and even during gaming nights with friends. The chicken shawarma has never once let me down, whether I'm getting the poutine, the plate, or the potato bowl, they're all consistently amazing. The staff have always been friendly whenever I've gone in, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great too.

Also huge shoutout for being open late on Uber Eats. I genuinely can't even count how many times I've ordered from this place at this point, it's a lot.“

“Wanna get full for $10 and have a quick nutritious meal? This is the spot to be. It's not the most mind-blowing shawarma I've had (they don't claim to be anyway), it truly is some of the best bang-for-your-buck food in the area with well-balanced portions that hit the spot.

The guy working the counter gave rockstar service. There were quite a handful of people including myself, yet he was able to get all of our food out in a timely manner considering he was the only employee- all with a smile on his face. He was also kind enough to go out of his way and grab me water without me asking. It was such a small but thoughtful gesture and I appreciate it a ton.

The chicken shawarma rice plate was well seasoned & portioned, you get 3 veggie toppings and a variety of sauces to choose from. A medium has 4oz of meat for $9.99, or you can get a large for 6oz of meat at $12.99.

I like that they have actual toum and not just shawarma yogurt sauce (although I got that on my food as well and it was delicious). They also offer weekly deals which are pretty cheap imo considering how expensive food is nowadays.

If you're looking for parking I'd look for a curb on Dawes rd and just walk on over. The shop is super tiny and only has two stools for seating so it's best for takeout.“

The owner cut the meat fresh off the rotisserie, most shawarma shops pre cut their meats & have sit in a heating compartment which dries it out. Beef was amazing with extra beef fat on the rice, chicken was juicy. He gave me extra beef fat when I asked with no issues.

Pay cash and get a free drink. Support this family ran restaurant. The owner is so nice and warm. Welcoming & out going. Will 10000% return.

“I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

“This is a great place for mediterranean food - we had the labneh/ hummus/beet salad as appetizers and then Lamb chops / chicken schnitzel and the chicken shish kebob - all of it was excellent for a very reasonable price. We will come back for sure!“

The only downside is that there is one older lady who works during the daytime. I’ve interacted with her several times, and unfortunately she has been consistently rude, impatient, and unfriendly. She really takes away from an otherwise great experience. I highly recommend visiting in the evening instead, where the staff have always been welcoming and professional.“

It tasted odd... shortly after,, I called the location to tell them, something was off with the ingredients. I wasn't sure of it was the onions, turnips etc. something was left out too long perhaps... and today I am sick as a dog. I've eaten here before. I think they need better quality control on the food... especially being safely stored.. perhaps temperatures..etc“

I had the opportunity today to pass by and visit my old friend Johnny at his shawarma restaurant on Kennedy Road not far off the 401... @johnnysshawarma is consistently ranked in the top handful of shawarma restaurants in the city and I can honestly say that I've never had better shawarma anywhere (not even when visiting Israel!)... And that says a lot considering with my middle eastern roots (my Dad was from Egypt) this is one of my favorite foods as it's delicious as it is nutritious especially when given the option to swap out the starchy carbs like the insanely good rice and potatoes with equally amazing salads and dips... Make sure to stop by and grab a bite if you are heading anywhere East of the DVP off the 401 and let them know Andre sent you 💪💪💪“

“I ordered the lamb chops and they were fantastic. I like my lamb chops well done, I know that's not very common, but they managed to do it just right without over cooking it. I wasn't really a fan of the rice though, it was a bit dry and lacked flavour with too much onions. The price was a bit steep though for the portions.

also the service was excellent, they didn't constantly interrupt us and showed up the right amount of times. The tea selection was also fantastic. I recommend this place.“
