Update: just went into the store in person to check out the place today. The server who greeted me had NO customer service. After I ordered she kicked me out of the store to stand in the cold for 10 mins to wait for the food...and there was only her and the cook and no other customer in the store. I have also ordered their homemade kimichi as a side and it is such a small bowl but more expensive than the other korean restaurant (theirs small kimichi is $3 bucks) nearby who served similar food....hmmmmmm worth to give it a try but the customer service will keep me from going into the store for a bit. Just order take out its easier“

“Updates: We have been there more recently and the food quality and quantity has improved. Also, if you like braised pork hog (jokbal) or braised pork belly (bossam), this is the place to go. Their shabu shabu is still pricey.

Come here only if you like plan Korean noodle or big Korean dumpling (myungdong). Their shabu shabu is expensive for the little amount of food you get. For $17.99 each person, you get only 13 pieces of thinly sliced beef for 2 people (that means 6 pieces of beef per person).“

“Halibut House in Thornhill has a very good atmosphere with a big, neat dining saloon that feels comfortable and inviting. The staff are welcoming and attentive, especially Rina, who showed great hospitality and made our visit pleasant.

Ill speak broadly of the brand, and then tell you what I think of the food over the past 20 years eating here. Yeah 20 years at this very location at 8 Green Lane in Thornhill.

Pizza Nova is Quality pizza and has been serving us since 1963, a long time.

The takeout and delivery are always reliable, Pizza Nova just has that extra something that other chains like pizza hut, dominos, whatever doesn’t have. More interesting? More options? More Authentic Italian… yeah all that. But I like them all and to each their own… pizza Nova holds up. I like Pizza Nova. t least this one at green lane.

Ive had many new years eve, thanksgiving, deliveries and the late night party size pizza with the boys after a few drinks. Pizza Nova wings and pizza at this location is good.

Their wings are really one of the best chain pizza wings you can get. Good stuff.

If you look online for opinions people tell you “depends on the location” or “some are good some are bad”.

And this location on Green Lane is one of the good ones.

Ok enough words… after 20 years the 8 Green Lane Pizza Nova is still here. And as a customer… you get what you ask for, its good pizza! And i like it.

“New Years eve dinner with party of 6 for a 7:30 reservations. Been here a few times and enjoyed the food and service. Likely due to New Year eve, the food was extremely slow and didnt receive food for almost 1.5+ hours. Suggestion to have a set menu for special New year eve so cooks aren't overwhelming with individual orders. Other than that the food was delicious.“

“I was here for the first time in Canada Day, which I think made an exception for the lack of crowds here, because I am sure that on any other Sunday, this cute restaurant is always filled.
the two drinks were standard, made fresh!
the meals themselves were amazing fresh and tasty. I got the omelette with peppers, mushrooms and onions and it was so delicious. the bagel that came in the side is such a bonus, it was fresh and I got to choose the cream cheese to put on it.
my girlfriend’s lox was also just as fresh and the diy bagel had a generous portion of all ingredients.

we also shared the challah french toast because it is a must according to my gf and I will also be living by that - definitely a must, the challah makes it soft and the flavour is packed. a really good sweet side to have with a savoury bagel platter.

I will definitely be visiting what a bagel again and if I can get a seat, the restaurant space was so nice and comfortable!“

“This location is amazing, food does take a while to come out since there are always a lot people between 11:40 and 12:40 since it’s since it’s during school lunch hours. Service can be quicker and i would love not to get ignored sometimes. But overall, I love this establishment.“
