“You can tell this little cafe is a community favourite. It’s easier to explain this concept once you see if the type of people that this bakery and coffee shop attracts. You know a place is good when their regulars are of the older demographic and the owners remember their name and order. Yes, the place has really good cookies and chocolates and creative drinks and authentic Matcha, but its charm comes from who’s working behind the counter. The same two people I see every time I come in who are working their best to move the line as effectively as possible. I like this cafe so much that I jumped out of a passing street car to grab a matcha. I wouldn’t do that just for any place. Issho is the perfect example of what Toronto needs (except for the fact that I wish there was more seating/room).“

“We arrived late nearly closing after having lunch around the corner and there was one cream puff left - passion fruit. It was DELISH!
The flavour wasn’t overpowering and balanced with the puff. Just so yummy. The cute flower design also made it complete.
Service was great and love the special when you buy 6 ;) we’ll definitely be back!“

“I am a bit hesitant when it comes to writing an review about this place. But as a good Samaritan, I'm obliged to do the lovely owners a favor by giving an overwhelmingly positive review.

The bakery seems be be family ran and does small batches so the goods are baked fresh every day. The quality of the baked goods is unworldly. They are so good, I'd gatekeep if I was a tad bit meaner.

Ok, starting off with the buns. These weren't as mind blowing compared to other items but they are by no means bad. If you ever had a pineapple custard bun at a Chinese bakery, you know that flaky crust of fake margarine, shortening, starch and lard? This place does that custard layer a million times better while using actual ingredients. The buns are good but every next item on the list only gets better.

The cheesetart is honestly what you'd expect from a good cheesetart. The crust compliments the filling. It isn't too oily nor heavy but isn't light or airy. It gives you a good bite, I would say a lighter New York cheesecake inside a delicious custard.

The danish is good. You all know what a danish is. It is just a very good danish with quality ingredients.

Ok, the next two are like worth gatekeeping. The redbean filling and butter inside a wholegrain sourdough and the gourmet dried fruit sourdough. Omg, like I was done. The bread is actually insanely good. The perfect sourdough crust, the flavor, and the soft interior.

Not to mention both the fillings are so generous and well made. Real adzuki beans inside the buns. Applause to the integrity of the lovely bakers here. All there goods have demonstrated high integrity ingredients and careful execution. Would come again.

Btw with just around 30 dollars, you got enough snacks for a small group.“

“I’m in Kensington market often and I’ve walked passed crumbs too often when finally I said it’s time to get me one, and I’m glad that I did ! My patty was delicious I got mine with melted cheese and something so simple was incredible. My only regret is that I didn’t order everything else on the menu. Another thing that let’s you know a place is good is sitting outside for 5 min watching a line grow how can you argue that.“

Probably one of the best meals you can get on the Danforth strip. The food is exceptionally tasty, fresh, and served with so much love. The shish tawook, and lentil soup are so satisfying in every way.

The photos speak for themselves. Spectacular meal. To the last rice grain.

Ordered grilled chicken meal ( asked for more salad than rice) and a cheese manakish. Both were perfect. I can’t wait to eat here again.“

“Picked up some donuts before heading to my parent’s house because my mom mentioned wanting an apple fritter. I’ve passed by Fab’s and never really went in because I’m a big donut person myself, but these were delicious. I ended up getting the apple fritter, banana fritter, pistachio, and eclair. I think my favourite was the eclair, followed by the banana fitter. The fritters warmed up were such a delight!! I’d definitely come back.“

“We used Kwento for our wedding cake and had an absolutely incredible experience. Everyone we dealt with was so helpful and attentive to our needs. We wanted to go for a pretty classic piped cake with some pretty and colourful accents and MY GOD it turned our absolutely GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS. We got so many compliments on it and many people ended up going back for seconds because both flavours were so delicious! The tasting box experience was also so fun, I'd honestly recommend it even if you're not getting married as a cute and fun way to try all of Kwento's amazing flavours! We've also gone to Kwento for coffee & cupcakes before and loved that experience too, so just a big all around thumbs up from us!“

“I drove from North York today to pick up a chocolate cake for my birthday and it was well worth the drive! The cake was moist, had a chocolate pudding-like fudge icing and it wasn’t too sweet. It was my first time there so I picked up a few other things I had seen good reviews about…lemon bichon - great, crunchy, flaky exterior with a lovely lemon curd inside. Chocolate chip cookie was also tasty, I will have to give it a solid tasting tomorrow as I don’t have enough room left in my tummy today! Lastly the sausage roll, my husband said it was the best one he’s had since we visited England a few years ago!

“I went to try Tiny Market for lunch. The place is truly tiny with limited seating inside. The staff are attentive and eager to answer any questions. I tried one of the two lunch specials the Casserece allá Amatriciana.
The pasta was hot and cooked al dente. The flavours were amazing and the sauce was rich and creamy. The guanciale was generous and found throughout the dish. What an amazing dish and it was well priced at $19.
They have fresh pasta, sauces and lasagna for take home. All they items are made in house and are on rotation. They also have frozen options as well.
I will definitely to try again when I’m over that way.“

“This place is so nostalgic for me - it has not changed since I first went there as a kid in the 90s. For around $11, I got a loaf of coconut bread, a 4 pack banana cakes, a melon bun and 2 pineapple buns. The cashier is also very friendly and makes good suggestions based on the items that you get. What a treat to have all these affordable snacks to have coffee and watch the Olympics women’s hockey game!“
