I was going to bake a birthday cake for my son's birthday, but when I wasn't up to it my husband suggested ordering from a bakery (instead of getting a grocery store cake). I wasn't sure it could be done since it was the day before, but Manzou came through with flying colours. My son loved his cake. It was sweet enough without being closing; rich without being heavy. “THE BEST HONG KONG-STYLE BAKERY IN THE GTA. I will fight Toronto traffic and travel an hour to this place to pick up my favourites— the Fried Curry Beef Bun (my stomach is growling as I write this), it is like the Japanese fried curry beef buns….it is the BEST; also the BBQ Pork Pineapple Bun is great, and their amazingly delicious egg tarts that sits on a flakey pastry crust.

Not only that, but the bakery is CLEAN and BRIGHT, and there is ample parking outside.

They also make a great hot MILK TEA. You can sit inside to enjoy your food and drink, or you can take it to go.

The guy there is very friendly. The female is nice too and will remind you of their promo of Buy 6 (red sticker marked items) for $11.

I cannot express how much I love this place, the only downside is it’s a little far from where I live, but like I said, I WILL TRAVEL FOR DELICIOUS FOOD. Prices are also competitive and fair.

Please don’t ever close down— stay open for a few more decades at the very least <3“

“I’ve been to this location several times now for cakes, macarons, ice cream… and from my experience this one has by far the best service and desserts every time (I’ve also been to the downtown location on Spadina and the one in Richmond Hill), I picked up a small Mont Blanc today I preordered months in advance during a promo for my birthday and the staff working there was very friendly and sweet and I really appreciated the hand-written message card that came with it! 🥹 Cake was of course delicious and a hit with everyone in my family, big thanks for making the drive in today’s snowy weather worth it 🙏❤️“

“Lamanna's is a great place for a coffee with friends! I love their pistachio and nutella gelatos, which are vegetarian/halal friendly. They have an amazing dessert selection, their housemade red velvet cake is THE BEST, don't even get me started on their brownie cheesecake (one word, delicious). The only thing I wish they did is carry hand slaughtered halal meat for their pastas and other meals, then I would be here all the time!“

“This bakery has been in business for over 20 years in Scarborough and has consistently crafted out high quality and artful cakes and baked goodies. The blueberry mousse cake is our son’s favorite and it is simply mouthwatering! The butter cookies are soft but not too sweet. The baker could also customize the cakes to some extent like draw pictures, write short phases and decorate.“

“Its a very tight bakery. The quality of the baked goods is always on point. I love their lo po cake (wintermelon pastry) it has huge chunks of winter melons and its Flaky. Always fresh. They have fantastic egg tarts our go to. Buttery and flaky, probably the best in the GTA.“

There are always a lot of people there so it does take time to get your orders (not the owners fault the place is just too good) so not recommended if your in a rush but other wise it's a very good place to go to when you need food. My personal favorite is the noodles with chicken in it, it's absolutely stunning and there's a spicier option if you are into that.“

They also have monay, bread pudding, macarons, ube and mocha cake slices, also kakanins like puto, kutsinta, biko, sapin-sapin and buko pies. In the summer… their halo-halo is to die for. “Takeout-only bakery with an assortment of small baked goods and drinks. I tried a few things, including the pistachio chocolate babka, the red pepper beef ciabatta and the lemon salted butter roll. All of them were great especially the red pepper beef ciabatta.The prices are on the high side but I would say it's worth it for the quality. Will be back to try the drinks and more of the baked goods.
