This local spot was hoppin when we walked up for a table. We were seated at the bar to wait for our table and threw back a couple of pints. (Is this secretly one of the more affordable bar in the East End?)

The food was great! We had the mixed barbeque platter and a side of fries. We loved every bite! Special call out to the brisket.“

We went with the Sample for 2 with the Fried Duck Tacos to start; simple yet delicious and the Chinese BBQ sauce was incredible! The classic baby back ribs were more than on point and the chicken is just something you want to dive in to and devour! The Mac 'n' Cheese is a perfect side and the real highlight of the meal was the brisket!!! My fiance and I had the most wonderful service from Lorne whom was very knowledgeable, thoughtful in his ideas and explanations of every menu item we tried. He insisted on the Mac n Cheese and the cornbread and thank goodness he did! The bbq was delightful and rich in flavour. We cannot wait to go back again!

“Forgot the prices as the time we came was a big group. Despite the chaos (as we added on our order a few times), food was served promptly. Skewers was slightly on the dry end but seasoning was decent. My favourite was the tofu skewer!

Seating was comfortable and decently spacious. Staff was extremely kind and friendly - we had some popsicles with us and to avoid them melting they were willing to let us put in their freezer temporarily (and reminded us to take them when we were leaving)!“

Probably one of the best meals you can get on the Danforth strip. The food is exceptionally tasty, fresh, and served with so much love. The shish tawook, and lentil soup are so satisfying in every way.

“This review is in reference to the collaboration dinner with and at gateau ghost hence why I didn’t give a rating for atmosphere.

Oyster: delicious bite. Salty, sweet from the palm sugar, fragrant coriander and shallots, no notes. I plan on dressing oysters like this in the future at home. So good!

Hokkaido scallops: I’ll start off the the good. The flavours were strong and I loved the space. The shrimp paste was so delicious and added such a unique savoury element to the dish. The crunch bits of fruit also added great texture. Now I don’t feel like the scallops were the star of the show and that’s where I feel like the dish fell a bit short. If you’re going to use imported Hokkaido scallops then they should stand out but they kind of fell into the background. We were also a seating of two but received three leaves/wraps. It would have made more sense to have four leaves or a shareable number. The leaves were also lacking in flavour, maybe shiso would have been a good choice. But nothing was terrible and tooo away from the dish, I simply wanted more bites.

Fish curry: again I’ll start with the positives. The curry itself was spicy and comforting. The fish was cooked really well and I loved the blistered skin. We finished the whole bowl and were even offered more by the chef behind the counter which was so nice. He explained that this was a northern style curry, hence its departure from the more well known coconut milk curries. The dish was served in a bowl but we were given sharing plates which didn’t really work. I ended up just using the rice bowl bc the broth would just run off the plate. I also think the fish could have been better seasoned. The veggies in the curry were also prepared separately (blanched) so they were pretty bland. I would have liked for the veggies to be cooked in the broth but it was fine. The curry itself was so strong in flavour that it carried the rest of the dish.

Dessert: :( unfortunately we didn’t like this one. Not enough coconut flavour, no burnt/char flavour and the crisps/bark didn’t taste like sesame either. Everything was just a little off the mark.

Overall the Thai favourites dishes overshadowed the gateau ghost dishes by farrrr. My review for gateau ghost is on their Google as well. Will definitely be coming to Thai favourites for dinner. Thanks!“

“By chance we ended up at Shawarma Royale on Queen Street W. Maria was the waitress/cahier She was incredibly friendly, accommodating and attentive. We ordered a fruit smoothie and an iced caramel coffee latte. Both were very tasty and beautifully presented. We can highly recommend it. Kind regards from the German couple😁“

“Busy spot with a bit of a wait if you go at peak times. Meat skewer portions are on the smaller side, most interesting dish to try is the sweet and sour pork. It’s not like the westernized version and is more sweet and crispy with larger pieces.

They don't taste the same. They actually have a distinct taste between them. This is a phenomenal deal, and if you have a bigger appetite than I do, you'll definitely enjoy the 50 plus flavors.

The first plate that comes out, has fries, 10 wings and crudite, then you can order another flavour in increments of five wings.

The service is really good. The waitresses are all very young and very friendly. I was a little surprised that it wasn't busy tonight, but it is raining, and I was very early. If you don't want to have to wait for a table, go early. I will definitely return in the near future.“

“This is one of three places at this plaza called Evergold Centre that offers $6 BBQ deals and today I got BBQ pork on rice which came with some greens and an odd watery soup broth. Couldn’t drink it!

But the pork was delicious and juicy and I love that it comes with green veggies! It’s a tiny, cramped place and wasn’t seat friendly. But it was a short line up and fast service when I was there before 12 noon. I’d come back but I’ll go to other BBQ places to compare taste and portions.“

“I came on 2 different days. Got to try the bulgogi beef poutine and the hotdog and fries combo. I felt that the gravy was too salt for me; however the beef was quite good. I enjoyed the hotdog and fries. Good selection of toppings and the fries were really good and crispy. It is tucked away in Yorkville, it is a small stall but good prices for food. They take debit or cash only.“
