“We love this sushi spot! Every order is fresh, beautifully packaged, and you can really taste the care and passion in every bite. We order here often—as you can see from the collection of photos I’ve amassed—and I can honestly say they’ve been consistent every single time. Their wasabi is made fresh, just like their sushi.

Our daughter has been eating sashimi since she was two, and I’ve never had any concerns about the quality of the fish from this place. Her absolute favorite is the salmon ikura don, and she also loves the little octopus in one of the Inari pockets. We order so often that they even know our usual takeout (D2 and S5, with the occasional Inari Gunkan), and they recognize it instantly when my husband calls in. We’ve dined in a couple of times as well, and the staff are so friendly and warm that we felt right at home.

After a long week, it’s our go-to Friday treat. It’s always a joy to bring their sushi home, and it feels like a little bit of love is packed into every box.“

“Visited here yesterday for dinner. We ate until our hearts were content 😃 We tried several rolls and they were all great...the deep fried ones are good too. Tired the chicken skewers, salmon teriyaki, tempura, beef ribs all tasty. Tried the 3 different cakes and other sweets all lovely. Buffet was $38 a person. The bubble tea was extra but the guy took that off our order since we didn't know. Overall service was quick, food was fresh and all tasted great.“

“It is really delicious and fresh, we ordered spicy tuna, Filadelfia rolls and Tropicana rolls. Also the staff members were friendly and answered questions about the menu.

“I ordered Vegi Poke Bowl, it was absolutely delicious and healthy. I would say it’s the most healthy meal I have had compared to other restaurant food.

The team members are amazing folks, they actually care about their customers and asked any dietary restrictions. As it stated vegi bowl but the spicy mayo comes with egg, so the lady who took my order asked them to remove the mayo from it. Hats off 👏

And the ingredients were all fresh. This is the best cooked tofu I have ever had. One little suggestion from my side is please don’t put extra salt on top of it. Otherwise it’s perfect 👌 💯

“We went to Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar Vaughan for a group lunch, and it turned out to be a really fun and entertaining experience. The teppanyaki-style cooking is definitely the highlight — the chef was engaging, put on a good show, and kept everyone involved, which made it perfect for a group setting.

The food was above average overall — fresh ingredients, decent portions, and everything was cooked well — but honestly, the place is more about the experience than the food itself. You’re really paying for the atmosphere, the live cooking, and the entertainment, which made the lunch memorable and enjoyable.

“As a long-time sushi lover, I recommend this place. The fish and ingredients are fresh, and you can really taste the difference in every bite. The sushi was flavorful and well-balanced, with each roll and nigiri made with care. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better.

They also have table seating, which is great if you prefer a sit-down meal setting. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. One of the most fun surprises was the selection of unique Asian pops and ice creams for dessert—definitely not something you see everywhere.

Appetizers full of omami flavour; sashimi tasted very fresh and well prepared - favourite piece for me would be the Madai; sushi very well prepared - rice flavour well balanced, each pieces is paired with its unique sauce and spice. “We were craving sushi, and found this little place. We ordered Takoyaki, dynamite roll sushi, and chicken karaage. The takoyaki is a bit salty, maybe because it has too much sauce, but the Chicken Karaage and dynamite sushi was really good! Overall, I would highly recommend this place! “Update: We recently came back to try their Silver Wagyu menu and really enjoyed it. The marbling on the meats were great and the flavour really came through when we put them on the grill. Loved the Australia M9 toro beef, U.S. Gold Grade brisket short rib, and the fresh seasonal scallops they just added to the menu. Shout out to Steven who was really attentive all night!

We got their AYCE Black menu and all the meats were well-seasoned, tender and delicious. Our favourites are the miso beef, garlic beef brisket, prime kalbi and pork toro. They also had a new summer menu - the beer-battered cod was SO good. Staff were friendly and very attentive. No wait on a Monday night, restaurant was about 80% full!“

“I tried the pork loin with brown sauce and it was amazing — perfectly crispy on the outside and cooked just right on the inside. The portion is very big, definitely enough for two to share, which makes it even better value. The cheese blocks were super tasty, and they honestly have one of the best takoyaki I’ve ever had. On top of that, the staff are very nice and patient, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place!“

“Truly our favourite Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto, and possibly in Canada. It’s the combination of the quality of food and attentiveness by staff that move this restaurant well above others. Don’t let the “look” of the restaurant fool you - it’s outstanding and locals agree. The ingredients are always outstanding. Say hi to Chef Jiharu if you’re there. It’s a small restaurant so reservations are a must.“

Tomo Japanese Restaurant was a great experience in terms of food, service, atmosphere, and above all safety for me and my son. People with Celiac and NCGS, Tomo is a really nice place with safe gluten-free food, highly recommended. :)“

I ordered the deluxe set. I enjoyed the dynamite and spicy salmon rolls which came with it. What I didn't like in the deluxe set was the cream cheese rolls, which came as a surprise to me as I ate it.

Nothing bad about the service.

The food came after about 25-30 minutes

Price 💰💰💰: 4/10
Some of the items were quite expensive. If I recall correctly, there was a boat for $72 which contained about 36 rolls. $2 per roll is probably not a deal I will take.

Atmosphere 🪰: 4/10
The restaurant was clean, but the main problem was the flies. They were flying everywhere and landing wherever they please.

“I order here a lot. It's a small unassuming shop in a food court but the food is really really yummy, very reasonably priced. I'm so used to the deliciousness here that I forget how spoiled I am that when I eat other sushi I find myself disappointed elsewhere.“

“I have been coming to this place for almost 5 years now. Love their miso ramen. It’s really tasty! Their takeout packing is very sturdy and good as well.
I noticed within last year that the quality of the noodles have degraded, I feel that they refrigerate their noodles and they are not made on the they of, doesn’t look and taste fresh. You can actually see the noodles being bunched up and frozen.
Overall I like the taste of their ramen soup.“
