“Treat yourself to a warm sushi hug.

We’d been to Hug Sushi’s OG location years ago and finally tried this dine-in spot. Now I wish we’d come sooner! The all-you-can-eat dinner features their well-balanced house special sushi and are decently small allowing you to try more variety.

We enjoyed the hug roll (a salmon avocado roll topped w/ torched salmon + ikura), the crazy roll (with a mound of crabmeat), a BBQ eel roll and even a honey mustard roll for fun that somehow works. Other good picks were the spider roll featuring soft shell crab and the scallop sushi. The sashimi here is thick cut like it should be so you can taste real fresh umami flavours.

We were too intrigued by their sushi selection to try much else. However, grilled shrimp skewers were crisp & well-seasoned and the mango shrimp & salmon salads were refreshing starters. Tempuras were decent as well. For dessert, they have mango sago and deep fried milk which is rare for AYCE sushi but matches another good nearby spot in Maple. Everything arrived quickly.

So what’s the verdict? We’ll definitely be back again at Hug Sushi. Just overlook the lack of interior tidiness and you’re bound to enjoy too!“

I’m taking one star off because we love eating here, but last time they forgot to include the ginger and soy sauce with our order. We didn’t realize it until we got home. The food was still fresh and delicious, but it was disappointing to have that experience.“

“We came on a weekday night and it was pretty busy. We only waited a few minutes to get a table. After ordering, we got our soup and salad pretty quickly but waited longer for our main dishes, and even longer for our dessert. The food was ok. My husband found the seaweed in his hand roll and maki roll too soft, and I found the salmon to be a bit dense. The other sushi were average. Then the dessert, my husband liked his fried bananas, but I found the sticky rice with mango to be too sweet and the mango pieces were not ripe. The service was slow but we can understand why--it's been a busy night. The staff were nice but very busy catering to bigger tables. Despite all this, we did enjoy our time.“

“I had a wonderful experience at EDO Japan Vaughan Mills!! I was helped by Joban. She was friendly and was very helpful with my order! I had a slight issue and she immediately solved it with a smile on her face. She was also nice to my kids. It is reassuring to know there are people like Joban who still care in the service/food industry. Please give her a raise! Thank you Joban for doing a great job! “Chef Kelvin is very professional and provides a wonderful dining experience. His performance, especially the fire show, was impressive and entertaining. The food was perfectly seasoned, and the steak was cooked exactly to my requested doneness. I highly recommend giving it a try and would gladly come back again. One small suggestion would be for Chef Kelvin to interact with guests a bit more, as it would make the experience even more enjoyable and memorable.“
