“We saw the Halal sign but couldn't verify independently. While we were thinking of going elsewhere at that late night hour, we asked a few questions, and the staff wnsured us hard that they only buy halal, so we sat down. The food was good. Soups, satay, roll, dragon chicken, fried rice, and Tsao chicken. Fish was good, too, but little more oily. Pad Thai was not bad, little dry, though. The server Kavita was nice, I think we tipped a little less than what we should have, by mistake. Of course. Overall experience was good“

That said, the food itself was extremely oily. I only live 3 minutes away, but by the time I got home, my car seat had already absorbed oil dripping from the fish and chips, so it definitely needs less oil.

“Been a while since we went to Captains about. Returned for a special birthday celebration and our waitress surprised my wife with the robot birthday song delivery. Nice touch thank you l. Food did not disappoint l, was fresh as we had remembered it to be. The shrimp was good but a little skimpy on the sides including tiny rice bowls, a quarter potato and an a half cob of corn (for example) in the boil which is why the lower stars. Flavour was good, just higher price, so was a case or pay more for less.“

The fish was so tasty and you get a big piece which is a bonus, the fries were delicious but let me tell you the gravy mmm so amazing , very tasty and also it was full of flavour and you got a huge dish of it! I also got a Diet Coke with a glass with ice and a straw and it was so refreshing especially when it’s so hot out today! “We have been coming to this location pretty well since it opened. It is nicely situated on the South West corner of Simcoe and Beatrice streets. This gives access from both Simcoe and Beatrice.
There is lots of comfortable seating always a very friendly bunch of customers. Also to add, the restaurant is licensed.
The staff, both serving and preparing are excellent. Out of the many servers we have dealt with (feeling bad about picking a favorite) is Amanda. As soon as she sees us she knows exactly what we will order ..... haddock and chips plus two - or three, excellent mushy peas. Not all H House locations serve them.“

And don't get me started on the gluten-free donuts... They're so knowledgeable and take such great care to prepare food in a safe manner if you have dietary restrictions. “We came here for lunch as a group. The place just opened around noon and there was no one.

We ordered only dim sum. The quality is good overall, a bit pricy but that’s expected for a casino location.

The servers didn’t seem especially friendly at first but when you get to know them they are quite nice.

I think it’s good to have some Chinese food to cater to the demographics.“
