“Very cool Japanese vegan café. Beautifully made treats that I’ve never seen plant based elsewhere. The tarts are excellent and the treats aren’t too sweet. Delicious hojicha latte, vibrant matcha and smooth coffee. The staff are lovely, so is the space. The cups and dishes are disposable so BYO to limit waste, you can get a discount for BYO cup. The only place I was able to see shower toilets in real life as well.“
“Mary K was our server here at Swiss Chalet and was a very nice and positive server for our food. She was very generous enough to give us another pepsi or if we had any issues she was here to help!Vegetarian options: Maybe besides having salad as a vegetarian option we can have more creative dishes.“
“We discovered BELGIAN SWEET CORNER on a stroll through Kensington Market. BELGIAN SWEET CORNER is a haven of repose. Jorben Coppens is the 23-year-old chef. But he is much more than that. You can chat with him in Flemish, Dutch, French or English. His exquisite waffles are rated #1 in Canada. Served with pure maple syrup. Drop in! You'll love BELGIAN SWEET CORNER. We do! Mme Anna Graham“
“Everything from the experience to the food and our waitress was amazing. This location provides a comforting and welcoming environment and the staff is always so friendly but Bessie is by far the best waitress we’ve ever had. She is kind, warm and extremely funny. 10/10.“
“This place is open 24 hours and the food here is amazingly high quality and delicious. My favorite sandwiches are the chicken clubhouse and the chicken chipotle. My favorite pasta with a modified seafood pasta that uses rosie sauce and penne (I just asked the waiter for these modifications). The ceasar salad is pretty good too, although a tad bit on the richer side with its dressing. The desserts seem to all be in large portion sizes, so high in calories and sugar, but I only tried one (the chocolate cake) and I felt like it honestly wasn’t that particularly good. The brunch and breakfast menu is good as well.“
“It was the most amazing pizza we’ve ever had…once you had Venga Cucina’s pizza , you don’t want any other …there pasta was delicious with homemade pasta and the atmosphere was awesome, Carlos the server was delightful and knew his food and wine …if your in the junction…stop by Venga Cucina , does not disappoint…“
“We went there Jan. 1st…The Good: everything we ordered was delicious, super friendly vibes from all staff. We waited probably a good 20 minutes? The homemade jam and lemon butter was to die for and just amazing on everything. We also order to go soups here and Daisy cake. Wonderful restaurant. The Bad:I pointed out to the waiter that the charges showing $600+ for a bill that was $73.22. He said “Oh it’s Christmas” we just laughed it off but that’s wasn’t funny, good thing I always check my bill. He didn’t even apologize as if he’s entitled for that amount. How can you make a mistake punching $600+ for $73.22. Really sketchy…. It’s not a reflection of the owner and the restaurant but you wonder how many times this Male Wait Staff actually got away with it. It really left a bad taste in our mouth…“
“Ordered brunch pickup and love that can conveniently order online and preset a time for pickup. We samples two Basic brunch spreads and added on Apple Jonnycakes as well. Definitely hit the spot and satisfied our cravings; tried a bit of the Apple Jonnycakes on top of it too and boy was it incredibly filling! Had nice leftovers for brunch the next day. Great presentation, tasty portions, we would return for another brunch experience.“
“Food is awesome and portion is big for the price. Tandoori chicken bowl with rice and salad (really good salad as well). Chicken is perfectly cooked and high quality. 10 dollars for a portion that would cost 20 at most "chain/fast" food “
“Wish I had been going here since we moved east. Thoughtful, eclectic decor. Fantastic drinks and small plates. Attentive and engaging service. This is where you bring the date you want to impress whether it's your first or hundredth. Also has the local vibe -- you could be happy here any night of the week.“
“Prepare to be floored by this unsuspecting gem of a hole-in-the-wall. Price-to-quality ratio is beyond satisfactory. You know that scene in Spirited Away where Chihiro tearfully devours a rice ball—the first bite of pure comfort after a long day? Me, every time.“
“Location:In Parkdale (this is what the Google leads me to believe). Street parking is available but is paid until 9pm (I went on a Wednesday). The place: Legit awesome. The owners took an existing diner that dates back many moons ago, but didn’t demo anything - so the diner has maintained its charm, offering a warm, hospital environment. I should mention that the staff have excellent taste in music and for me, that’s crucial in contributing to the overall vibe of a place. Anyway, I digress. The goods: Delectable, delightful, fresh, bursting with flavour. Need I go on? My friend and I shared the carrots and labneh as a starter because it was light. I ordered the striped bass and she ordered the duck. We both loved our meals - really, there’s nothing more to say other than I don’t usually eat fish skin but in this case, it looked so crispy and inviting that I went all out and left nothing on the plate.I had the Basque cheesecake for dessert - it was light and fluffy with a subdued flavour that I appreciated. My friend had the sticky toffee pudding (?) cake and is currently looking up recipes on how to make it.Service: Excellent, and I don’t get some of the other reviews that say otherwise (I guess it’s possible me for the staff to have a bad night). Our hostess, Bree, made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and basically accompanied us throughout the meal with great conversation - she’s got a good sense of humour. The manager, whose name I did not get, was also friendly.Price point: Depending on what you order, I’d say a meal can cost about $60 before taxes. Considering that these guys work with fresh, seasonal ingredients, they play great music AND provide stellar service, I think that’s a fair price.Highly recommend and looking forward to my next visit! Thanks - you guys are ace! ?“
“Went to Montana's for a quick dinner with friends and the food and drinks were SO good (highly recommend trying the antojitos and chicken wings) but the thing that made this place special was the amazing service by Jevon!! He was extremely attentive, friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Would highly recommend dining here!“
“It was my first time here and it's a great place. My friend and I looked up breakfast places and found Frank's Place. It had a high rating, so we decided to try it and I'm glad we did. The staff were great too and helped my with what I needed. The only thing I'll say is when I ordered the Lisa breakfast, it said it comes with 2 sausages. They only gave me one sausage cut in half and opened up to make it look like 2. I asked that I want a second sausage and they gave it to me with no issues. As long as they listen to customers and are helpful, that's a great place in my book. I would recommend!“
“Tonight I had the privilege to be served by hands down the best server I’ve encountered in years. In an era of dicey service it was a true pleasure to come across Hongya at the Queensway Swiss Chalet. She took the extra step to ensure my dinner was prepared exactly the way I wanted it done. She is highly professional and a genuine asset to the organization .Parking: Plenty of free parking.“
“Just tried the chorizo tacos. They were yummy. Like, really yummy. Crunchy hard shell, stuffed with toppings. Meat was good. I’m gonna be thinking about them for the rest of the day.I must return here soon and consume more of these scrumptious tacos.“
“The cheeseburger was so juicy and delicious, and the fries tasted light and fresh - like I could tell they were using good quality oil. Will definitely go back and try the j*** chicken sausage next time I'm in the area. Excellent service as well!“
“I was surprisingly shocked when I visited this milestones. It had been years since I last went and the decor and ambience of the place is really nice. It felt like a casual upscale restaurant. The food was tasty I really enjoyed the coconut calamari. The fish tacos were okay and the lobster dip was good. Only thing I will say is that the portion of some menu items should be a bit bigger if it’s meant to share.“
“Visited Toronto for a bit and came across bar’kada . The vibes are super on point. Great spot for dinners. Food was super on point, interior was cozy and vibrant at the same time. I even got a bar’kada hoodie. Awesome quality and people always compliment it. Open one in Cali Bay Area ! Will defo be back.“
“I had a great experience at hunters, the food was really good and well presented. The service was amazing, Karen made sure all of my needs were taken care of with high standards for both food and drinks. I would definitely recommend family and friends and I will definitely be back again!“
“We loved the food. We ordered the chebureki and the pork BBQ meal with rice and BBQ veggies. The chebureki was nice and scolding hot just out of the frier (be careful with it). The pork BBQ was well cooked and tasty with the ajika sauce. Rice was nice and fluffy. The grilled veggies were also great, although not as warm as I'd like. Definitely recommend amd will let friends know too.Parking: Several parking spots in the plaza and it wasn't busy on Thursday just after lunchtime“
“Ahhh this place is amazing. No Mac and cheese to try today but we will be back to try that. The chicken, the coleslaw, the jalapeño biscuits, the wedges and dip, the brussel sprouts - all are INSANELY good. This place is a must try!Kid-friendliness: Totally kid friendly.“
“Perfect!! I liked the food, atmosphere, and the friendly servers. ❤️ However, when I asked for a bill, they brought me a bilge with an 18% tip, so I was a little embarrassed... I came alone... Still, I was satisfied with the fresh oysters and good service.“
“Having spending some of my childhood in the Netherlands, I grew accustomed to Dutch culture and some of the culinary offered.I’ve been coming here for sometimes mostly when I crave food from Febo, Indra pura or Fritz shops. They offer foods that’s very close to what I am craving for.Their bitter ballen, chicken satay, lekkerbek (fish and chips) are great delicious and well made 10/10I did not like the frikandellen as much, I felt it was too tough and meaty, but it was close enough to satisfy my craving. 9/10.Service is very good, they work hard to make sure the guests have the best experience. 10/10.Over all it’s a great place to visit maybe call it home away from home? I think it’s a good idea to explore and try this place if you haven’t and as the Dutch saying goes “Verandering van spijs doet eten “ which means mix things up once in a while to keep things interesting.“
“I made a reservation which was very easy. When I arrived it was very busy which made me thankful for reserving! The service was good, the food didn't take long to come out, and the food was so tasty and delicious. My only gripe is that it was super busy and loud inside and the tables were pretty close together which made it hard to hear your conversation. The fresh OJ was awesome too. Would definitely go back and try another item off of the menu.“
“Insomnia is a Toronto staple as far as I'm concerned. I'd only ever been there for brunch before (they make fantastic benedicts - but as for the home fries without ketchup otherwise they come pre-doused). Last night I went there for drinks for the first time and it was pretty great - my apple martini was delicious.“
“I think this is a cute little spot! The fries were really good. I think its a bit more on the expensive side for me so I can't visit too often. It also gets a bit loud. Our server was soooo fun and nice though! I think he mentioned he'd been working there for a long time. One thing that does make me nervous is one of the women's bathroom stalls has a mirror in it, and when I poke it my finger touches the reflection. This is either the mirror is missing a layer or its one of those mirrors someone can watch you through. Just avoid that stall and use the window one, that should be okay.“
“Omg I had such an amazing time dining with Michelle as my server! She truly is a master of the craft of serving. She expertly guided me through the menu helping me choose just the right items with my dietary restrictions. I will definitely be back again and hope Michelle is my server!!!“
“Im a pretty big fan of Mac and cheese so I was hyped to find this place. Especially since Mac and cheese does not seem to be all that popular in Toronto for whatever reason. I ordered the classic Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was good however I wish it was a bit more saucy and cheese-y, especially with using a pasta shape like cavatappi. My friend got the camp Mac which I think is better than the classic.“
“Honestly, I’m always very critical about any Eastern European food since I grew up there but for a fast restaurant I was so pleased with the pierogi here. I got the creamy mushroom with cheddar and potatoes and it hit the spot. The location is kind of pushed into a weird plaza on queensway but do go in and try it out.“
“We went to V's for a Valentine event with our dog. The restaurant is not always pet friendly, but this was a closed private event. We went with little expectations, as the focus was to have a fun experience with our dog. The food is FANTASTIC! We ordered the Pork Schnitzel and it was amazing. Such big portions and very very good. It's a great deal for your money. We will be going back for sure, it is a little out of our way since we actually live in Oakville, but we will make a trip out there again!“
“had a delicious experience dining in with my family, we ate a sand which fries and the smashed potatoes, i definitely recommend the OG Hot and smash potatoes!Kid-friendliness: they offered to change the music when i dined in with my daughter, and i was very appreciative of that.“
“This is a small joint. But what amazing food and wow the taste was out of this city.In Toronto, this joint made a point that you don't have to be fancy to have good food. You can be a small restaurant or eatery, but if food is good, you will get peopleIn Toronto downtown, a hidden gem. Tried put almost everythingParking: After 9 pm free parking before that paidKid-friendliness: Alot of optionsWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“I sincerely can't say enough positive about the Swiss chalet at Victoria Park and Sheppard. I regularly accompany my brother there for a multitude of reasons. He has Celiac Disease and every single time regardless of which manager is working be it Wendy or Joy the comfort and reassurance we receive that they will ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and readied to prepare a safe Gluten free meal is outstanding. They go above and beyond. Emily has a heart full of warmth and humor. She is one of a kind and clearly loves taking care of her customers. Always a memorable experience. Thank you to all of you.“
“We tried this new filipino restaurant near earl bales park and it did not disappoint! I got the two meat with rice and drink combo meal and it was worth it tbh, big big portions and it really tastes like home to me. Also tried their meryendas, hands down the best pinoy siomai (with garlic and chilli oil omg), kwek-kwek, pinoy waffles and turon! ? will definitely come back“
“Oh, man. I wanted to give this place a 5, but one detail just glaringly stood out to me.First the good stuff. I got a Cabano's Burger Combo with Chili Cheese Fries. The food is delicious. I really appreciate that their fried food is actually crispy. The fries stood their own to the melted cheese and chili. The fried jalapenos on the burger were crispy little morsels that gave way to a sweet and spicy flavor. They did not get too soggy in the burger and provided a nice crunch. The burgers are grilled on a specialty grill that smashes the burgers. It was very interesting to see, and I imagine this leads to a high level of consistency. The burgers have a great crust, and are not too thin like some smash burgers I've had. Very enjoyable. The remaining item in the combo was the single disappointment of my meal: the drink. I ordered a drink because price wise it just made sense to get a combo, but note that they have no zero-sugar pop. I find this decision for a burger shop extremely odd. They have a great selection of glass bottled pop, including Coke and a number of Dad's brand soda. But even though these brands have no sugar options, Cabano's doesn't carry them for some reason. If you don't want to add ~30g of sugar to your meal, you're stuck with getting a water. For those conscious of their sugar intake, this is really going to lower the value you get here.So to summarize, if you don't mind sugary pop, this place is stellar and will satisfy your burger and fries craving. If you are trying to avoid sugary pop but still crave some pop with your meal, you may be disappointed.“
“First time visiting from out of town, was going to a show at the Royal and made a reservation earlier that morning for 5pm that day.Food was fantastic! Service was extremely friendly and had great recommendations regarding food and drinks. Atmosphere was amazing and honestly a big highlight for us. The cost for portions and quality was perfectly matched. Highly recommend for a nice date night.“
“We usually love this place, kids eat free on weekends which is a big plus. However, their staffing was a problem several times where we waited almost an hour for food, their ran out of dark meat and milk. They are very understaffed as well and the waitresses were doing too much, even the cook started coming out to serve. I think they might have changed the management recently. After this review, they were quick to attend to it and made some excellent changes.I still recommend this Swiss Chalet as they have kids eat free during the weekends which no other Swiss Chalet does (usually on weekdays) so it really makes this restaurant a great value and even cheaper than food court with good service“
“Such a wonderful spot! Food is inventive yet comforting, and most of all delicious. Drinks are so well balanced; not too sweet, not too strong, with subtle notes of tea. Service is friendly and speedy. And Sailor Moon playing it in the background? I'm sold.“
“Season Six is a really cool restaurant with delicious food. Staff are all super nice, very courteous and attentive. Food was so delicious. I got the Asiago dip, burrata, and the cauliflower - all so delicious. And the chocolate torte was so good we had to get it twice. Beautiful Spanish wine available as well. Overall a great experience. Recommend for a chill night out with good food.“
“Been a long time since I've stepped foot in this bar. Went with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We sat on the patio with their updated furniture. Seats were comfortable. There's a small dance area by the bar with a good selection of drinks to choose from. Decent music was playing the night we went. The establishment closes later than other places so you can chill for a bit longer. When it's closing time, be ready to leave or you'll get hounded by the security on site.“
“They have affordable combo meals!! A taste of home. For $14, your tummy will be full. I really like their spicy bicol express. The combo meal also has a choice of pop or bottled water, so it is for sure a bang for the buck. They also offer items that only they sell. I ordered extra rice and asked for rice toppings and they generously added sauces to my rice.“
“I finally tried the BYOP pasta spot I've been eyeing and it's a must visit. The Gnocchi Alfredo with chicken parm was good but a tad salty. The Rigatoni Rose sauce with chicken parm, however, was fantastic perfect flavor balance. Plenty of seating but parking's a bit tricky. Still, worth it for the experience. Can't wait to try more sauces and proteins next time !“
