“Ordered some pancit from Bongga Kusina via Doordash when craving some Filipino comfort food and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the noodles were. A lot of restaurants tend to make Filipino food more bland than relatives' home cooking, but their pancit tasted quite similar to how one of my aunts makes it. My only complaint was that I believe I ordered canton through the app but didn't get any of the thicker noodles, just bihon. They might have run out and did the best without it, and it didn't really detract from the quality of food.“

What makes this place a five-star establishment, however, is the service. I visited on a cold, rainy evening. The venue in which this restaurant is located lacks much in the way of enclosed seating, so waiting for my meal to be prepared was a frigid, wet experience. Noticing this, the man who prepared my food whipped me up a complimentary cup of masala chai to keep me warm. It tasted exactly like what I sipped in so many welcoming homes in India. Even if the food hadn't been so tasty, I would've come back here just so I could experience the warm Indian hospitality that I experienced that cold and rainy evening. Five out of five stars for sure!“

“We have been to the brick and mortar restaurant for breakfast three times now. Every time the place is clean and the service is quick, friendly, and attentive, regardless of the server. The food is fantastic and reflects a true love of cooking. I have had the juevos rancheros, the chilequiles poblanos, and the quesadilla. Their chips are made to order and come out hot, and the standard salsa served with them is roasted and well flavored. The prices are very reasonable and the menu does state that chips and salsa are not complimentary, and in this instance with the quality it's understandable. As a side note, the decorating is fantastic and provides wonderful ambiance! Glad to have found this little gem and can wait to come back for lunch or dinner service!“

For just one example, the chicken enchiladas plate is prepared bone-in – two massive drumsticks star on a plate where nothing plays backup. The meat is succulent, full of flavor, and fall-off-the-bone tender. Served with potatoes, avocado, fresh and pickled veg... It’s fantastic, balanced, and craveable. The birria in any incarnation is also super solid. We come back so often, we will eventually make it through the whole menu. This shawarma and falafel spot is a true gem. The shawarma is perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the falafel is crispy on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside—just the way it should be. Everything tastes homemade and made with care. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the sauces really bring everything together. “I walked up to order and saw loads of basil in front of me getting ready to be turned into something delicious. I ordered a small order of arancini balls. I was delighted that I could choose different ones on the same order. They had 4 varieties and all sounded amazing. I ordered the original mozz and the pepperoni and mozz. Then I could choose from 4 different sauces and I chose the original marinara. These were so good along with the sauce that I can’t wait to go back and try all of them but next time I’m ordering the large for sure! Additionally I ordered the Italian chopped salad and added grilled chicken and soppressata dry cured ham. It was an explosion of flavors! The grilled chicken was so good along with the ham. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Next I’m trying either the eggplant parm sub of the vegan pesto pasta, especially after witnessing the mound-o-basil. I won’t be forgetting the large aracini balls either ;)“

“Black House thai has been a staple for many years. The owners are super duper nice and down to earth. Everyone that works here is kind and courteous and helpful. The food is also amazing. They never skimp on your protein. The Phad See Ewe is super authentic. On an extremely sunny day when I had a big order the chef even ran over to my car with some fresh fruit. The people are kind and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for?“
