Kid-friendliness: Had a kids menu that wasn’t just chicken strips and burgers“

“The layout of this brewery is open and inviting. The upstairs area overlooks the street and gives you a good view to watch life pass around the brewery. The brewery has some amazing beers and some fun people working for them. I love the earthy vibes with the plants. Great place to visit.“

“The McMenamins is basically the same as all the others I've been in. But the theater rocks! It's a very old theater with a very old fashioned style, but it's been well kept up and I enjoy going there just for that.
Parking: It's a very busy area, so you may have to park a few small blocks away.
Wheelchair accessibility: I'm pretty sure it's wheelchair accessible but call to make sure first.“

“Gluten-free beer and a very nice atmosphere where you can hear each other speak, with nice music. Michaela was the most hospitable and patient bartender I’ve ever encountered. Give her a raise and a bonus for helping create a delightful and warm atmosphere that people will want to keep coming back to, especially on cold, rainy Portland nights.“

“Great spot, great tap list and they have a full bar as well- I have eaten at the Mexican spot (best Mexican I have had in Portland so far), the Thai spot is pretty solid but the Indian spot is for sure my favorite (it’s tucked in the corner in the outside area) Zoigl has a great bavarian pretzel with a cheese and mustard dip.“

“Excellent Coffee Tour. The gentleman that did the tour was extremely knowledgeable about all things coffee. It was easy to follow the things that he said and we were able to sample the Sumatra and Kenya blends. I Love That Mcmenamins makes the extra effort to make sure they are working with fair trade brands and no chemicals. Its so cool to learn about the ends and outs of roasting the beans and the formulas they have to follow. I had no idea all that went into making an awesome cup of coffee.“

“Had an amazing time here with my fiance. The food was incredible and the ciders were equally as good. My one gripe is that there isn’t more non alcoholic cider. I don’t like alcohol, however I love the moonberries cider.
I was also bummed to find out that the cherry non alcoholic cider is a limited time thing. I’m glad that they sell it in cases because I just bought 3
Dietary restrictions: Great for celiac“

“Great local taproom. They play great music on a double record player, and great live music on the weekends. The cider in particular is very good. The food is hot or miss, the pizza is great if a little pricey, the apps and sandwiches are getting better.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not easily accessed by wheelchair that I could see. At least one or 2 steps at every entrance.“

“We recently visited McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House with the family, and it was a fantastic experience! We tried the Portland dip and the burger of the month, both super yummy. Plus, we hit the jackpot by getting to do the flight tasting from Brewfest on Saturday. I have to say, the Creme De Coffea Blonde Porter was a standout—absolutely delicious! I also love that it’s a family-friendly spot, making it perfect for a fun outing. We'll be back!“
“Our first time here and the beer was good! The food ops are endless with all the food carts! The place was hopping for a Friday night and it is family and pet friendly. I couldn’t believe how many kids there were!“

“I've always loved McMenamins. Great service and great food. Best part is learning the history at each location! Fish and chips, beer is top notch! Have to give a huge shoutout to Ryan, our waiter. Superior service with a smile and went above and beyond to make my 10 year old comfortable!!! Such a sweetheart, will be back to see him!“

“Honestly, I had low expectations coming here as the atmosphere inside was giving me 80s office plaza vibes, but they had a really great beer selection (dark, light, ciders, etc) and their bar food was great! Exactly what we needed for a happy hour. Their patio is great especially on a nice day with a breeze! This place did not disappoint“

“Had a wonderful meal with a bartender that was so attentive and bubbly. She’s one of the better bartenders I’ve had in this area in years. Great food, incredible space, this will be a go-to for a long time coming. I can’t remember her name but she has curly hair and maybe glasses? She’s an asset to this business.“

“We had to sit ourselves in a crowded restaurant. Then we then had to scan a code with our phone to create an order and then pay for it before it was delivered. We waited for about 10 minutes and then a person came with our drinks. The drinks were good. Then a little while later, another person showed up with our food. The food was good. The drinks and food were good, just wish the service had been a little more personal.“

“The food in every McMenamins location is pretty consistently very good but not great. That being said, if you're in the mood for a burger, I have yet to find burgers in Portland that are significantly better than the these ones. Notably, at this particular location, every time I've been, the service has been excellent. The waiters who are cordial, kind and attentive without being too pushy about anything or to get you out the door. That in addition to that cozy atmosphere with good heating, music and decorations makes it a great place to chill if you need a bite to eat and an hour or two to relax without being bothered.“

“We love McMenamins and visit the different locations regularly (passport holders). Our only gentle complaint is the menu rarely changes. Core items are the same from Tacoma to Portland, so it does get a little stale for us regulars. But again, we're huge fans and staunch supporters. My husband even proposed at a McMenamins (Anderson School) and we stay at a different hotel every year for my birthday. Highly recommend!“

“It had been years since I was last here. Still has the cool low light vibe with the wood stove burning on a cold January day. Soup, sald half sandwich lunch special hit the spot, and my spouse enjoyed her Dungeon burger. A little pricey for what you get, but the ambience and nostalgia made it worth it.“

“We recently dined in at this location and we were all blown away by the service, food and atmosphere. Zack was our waiter and he was very attentive and friendly. The entire staff was incredibly accommodating to our large party and small kids. The food came out quickly, even on a busy evening and everything was delicious. Really fun, lively environment! Melissa the manager was friendly and clearly has a great team working there. All around, just really happy with our recent experience and we'll be back!“
“If you are in portland do make it a point t to visit Leikam, it's not downtown, not fancy, next to under consturction lots...BUT it's a must!
What they lack in location they make up in the best bar crew, backyard bar feel..so fun to just chill and chat about anything under the sun or moon.
Oh and the beers awesome too!!
Forget the fancy Portland breweries..this is the one to be at!“

“I saw a review on crypto investment that changed my story for good. I never believed it at first but after much convincing by my account manager in the person of Mrs Craig Vanessa I decided to give it a trial with just $5,000 even though there was a lower cost of investment. Starting with this, I made a profit of $35,500 in the first week. I am sharing this here for those that may have an interest. Mrs. Craig Vanessa is genuine and her style of trade is unique. Completely top-notch and different from the rest. Contact her today and you will not regret it. Send her a DM on WhatsApp via the number on her Facebook: Mrs Craig Vanessa“

“We had the Charcuterie. It was good. They had friendly staff, good selection of beer at a fair price, and the facility was big and roomy including the outside seating. We will probably be back to try the pizza. The pizzas seem kind of small for the price they are charging.“

“It's a McMenamin's restaurant. Attach everything that goes with it: antique signage, proprietary arty atmosphere, wide variety of microbrews, and sturdy pub fare.
McMenamin's no longer cuts their own fries. I miss that terribly. These days, I find myself resorting to their tots, as their mass-produced shoestrings taste like sadness and missed opportunity. Seriously. DQ does fries better than McMenamin's nowadays. I feel like it's the end of an era.
Still and yet, their trademark burger offerings and high-quality ingredients don't disappoint. Their excellent variety of ciders and gf substitutions allow this seasoned pub ruminant-turned-cliche to still have a great experience. Don't expect a celiac-safe space. But intolerants should be fine.
Waitstaff are seasoned pros, and do a great job.
Glad to have this location in outer SE. It's an oasis in an otherwise big-box section of town.“
“Pumpkin Patch Ale: Although I've become less of a beer guy since my college days, I like to try at least one new pumpkin beer each fall. Rogue was founded in 1988 by Jack Joyce, Bob Woodell, Rob Strasser, and Jeff Schultz. Since its inception, they have only had two brewmasters and have won more than 2,000 awards for taste, quality, and packaging. For starters, I love the artwork on the can, which in my opinion is just as important as the taste as I like to display my pumpkin beer bottles and cans this time of year. It's an eye-catching pumpkin orange with a depiction of a pumpkin patch and one particularly ghoulish looking pumpkin. Pumpkin Patch Ale is made using whole pumpkins that Rogue chops up and roasts by hand. Hand roasting allows for a more precise caramelization of the natural sugars. Combining the sugars with the perfect balance of spices results in Pumpkin Patch Ale's signature flavor. The ale comes in at 6.1% ABV and has an IBU of 25. It pours an orangish/amber color and is slightly hazy. I found the flavor to be a mild pumpkin that was not overly spicy or too vegetable-like. Very drinkable, Doughboy approved.

“2024 update: We came for dinner and some cider, and the food was really good! My foodie son said it was the best burger he's ever had! We also really enjoyed the fondue with Pretzel and sausage.
What's not to like about a cider taproom! The cider options were very good, and the staff was very nice and attentive. I sampled all of the ciders available, and settled on the grape cider as it was different than the other ciders.
There were plenty of TVs for watching the game, and a few different seating areas.
I'll definitely be coming back to enjoy more ciders.“
