“This was my first time visiting this location, and I absolutely loved it. I’ve been to other Trader Joe’s before, usually the one on 82nd, but this was my first time at the Milwaukee store.

Everything was very nice, neat, and organized. As I approached the entrance, I noticed the beautiful display of plants and flowers, including seasonal options and a wide variety to choose from. It immediately caught my attention and made me want to stop, look around, and even smell them. The display was very inviting.

When I stepped inside, the store smelled really fresh and pleasant, which made the experience even better and welcoming. Overall, it created a great first impression and made me want to come in and shop.“

“I've never taken the time to write a review for any business, but am pretty put off and have the time. Today is my husband's and my 11th wedding anniversary. We had Saint Cupcake at our wedding with a cupcake tower and wedding topper cake in 2011. To celebrate our 11 years of marriage, we went to go pick up cupcakes. Based on online information and the sign on the door, the business closes at 5pm on Saturdays. We arrived at 4:20PM - 40 minutes before closing. Both doors were shut and locked, but there were two employees inside and cupcakes on the back counters. They ignored us, even though I attempted to open each of the double doors - they wouldn't even look up. I knocked on the door and the woman sweeping reluctantly came and opened the door and told us that they had unfortunately closed early due to some issue. I tried to explain to her we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and had had Saint Cupcake at our wedding 11 years prior. She said they didn't have much of a selection left anyway and closed the door on us. It was a shocking and weird interaction and I was really put off. I will never go out of my way to give Saint Cupcake my business again in the future. 👎👎“

Now…the pastries…literally the best scones I’ve ever had; so flavorful and soft! The cookies were soft and the flavors hit the mark! “I went for the biscuits & gravy: Creamy, well-seasoned gravy generous with the sausage; big biscuits with a bit of crust--some of the best I've tried--and the prices are very reasonable. It's a quaint bake shop with seating where the owner anticipates regulars' coffee orders. Proudly queer-owned and adorable, complete with a small shrine to Paul Reubens. Feels very much a part of the neighborhood: a spot beloved by locals that the rest of us should feel privileged to patronize.“

“Stopped here a few times on our trip to Portland. A lot of their pastries are amazing. My personal favorite was their Ube cheesecake. We also tried their Japanese pancakes and they were so good. I would definitely recommend stopping in and getting a few pastries. The service was also great and the guy helping us was super friendly.“

“We had a wonderful experience at Cookie Crumble! We tried several flavors, including the Dubai chocolate and Nutella, and every single cookie was fresh, rich, and perfectly baked. The variety made it easy to find something for everyone, and the flavors were indulgent without being overwhelming.

What really made the visit special was the staff — they were very, very nice, genuinely friendly, and great with kids. They took the time to explain flavors and made the whole experience feel welcoming and fun.

“Cute little Asian bakery. We were there at about 3:50pm on a Sunday, and the shelves were basically empty. Must be popular to be sold out 2 hours before closing. We did end up getting a sesame moon cake, apple pie (turnover), and bbq pork steamed bun. The pork bun was hot and delicious, and tasted fresh.

Come earlier if you want the good stuff.“

“I've been gluten and dairy free since 2021... not by choice. That's also the last time I had baked goods that actually tasted like they were supposed to. I tried several items from Gem Bakery including: cupcakes, chocolate cake, glazed donut, caramel brownie, chocolate cookie, and bagels. Oh my goodness, they were just how I remembered them tasting! Texture was spot-on, flavor was delicious, and I wouldn't have known the desserts were gluten and dairy free at all. There were no gritty or gummy textures in the wheat flour replacement and there wasn't an overwhelming coconut flavor where dairy was replaced. I hope to return to this basket every time we visit Portland!“

Today I had to run out to Molalla for a plant delivery and, on a whim, typed “bakery” into Maps… and THANK GOODNESS I did, because this place is an absolute treasure! 💎 Tucked just off Beavercreek Road near 213, it’s hidden among the warehouse spaces — but trust me, once you turn off the main road, it’s right there and so worth the stop. The moment I walked in, I was hit with THE most heavenly smell. You know that warm, cozy, life-is-good kind of aroma? Yeah, that. Fresh cinnamon rolls, hot focaccia, cookies just out of the oven, quiche, sandwiches… it was sensory overload in the best possible way. I genuinely wanted to buy one of everything. I ended up grabbing both focaccias — the rosemary sea salt (perfection) and their special mascarpone version — plus a ham & cheese quiche made with locally raised ham from Campfire Farms here in Oregon City. The fact that they source local ingredients whenever possible? Huge bonus. And let me just say… this focaccia might actually be the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Dipped it in olive oil, herbs, and a drizzle of caramelized onion balsamic and suddenly remembered that simple, high-quality food is pure magic. Inside, the space is ADORABLE — a beautiful mural, shelves filled with local goods, tea, and giftable goodies. It feels homey, creative, and genuinely cared for. Everything here is freshly baked DAILY, and they’re only open Thursday–Saturday, so plan ahead! They’re also taking Thanksgiving pie orders (and likely more holiday desserts), so if you want to impress your guests this season, place a preorder ASAP. Trust me. I’ve been missing Singer Hill Café ever since they closed, and finding a spot with this kind of warmth, quality, and genuinely kind people makes me SO happy. I’m already planning my next visit. “my favourite, favourite place to stop by for a morning coffee and treat. the blueberry scones are amazing but they’re usually sold out by the time I get there. love the cinnamon rolls too cuz they’re unglazed and not too sweet. the only thing I don’t like is their stupid screen menu that switches between drinks and advertisements so you only have like ten seconds to pick a drink before it disappears to a picture of an english muffin.
other than that, lovely atmosphere in here and friendly service. simple, reasonably priced, and reliable. it’s been around forever and I hope it lasts a long time :-)“
