“The group I was with booked the second floor. There was another group there as well. Very loud and echos. Could not communicate with anyone more than 3' away.

Food and beer were good but the person taking orders stood at one end of the room. With a bigger crowd, it was difficult to get to him. Think they lost a lot of sales because folks sat with no food or drinks because he didn't visit the tables to take orders.“

“We live 3/4 across the country in Indiana but every time we come to town we always visit the Ale & Cider House. The lady who owns the place and always seems to take care of us and is always very friendly. As for the beers and ciders they are the best we’ve had. Loved the ciders before they filtered them but still taste just as good but without the “look”.😉 A true gem that you must try next time you are in the quaint little town of West Linn. “I was working at the college and stopped here with a few co-workers for lunch. I had the pork ribs, which were very good. We sat at a high top table inside. I had the tap water to drink. I like when they provide a water tap where you can refill your water. There is outdoor seating as well. Some brought in a cute dog while we were eating, so assume it is dag friendly, but I would double check“

“We figured this was a must go to cider taproom for the Portland area. We’ve seen their ciders in liquor stores all over the country and by the name I would assume it’s the flagship of the city. The taproom did not disappoint. They had a large selection of their own ciders and a few guests cider and beers as well as a couple cider cocktails. We got a flight and tried a couple of their cider cocktails, all of which were delicious. My girlfriend got a seasonal pumpkin chai spice cocktail that came with a souvenir glass, which was awesome since we love collecting glasses from our favorite taprooms. We got the pretzel and cider cheese, which was delicious. It was our second favorite “beer” cheese (behind 19 Acres’s cider cheese). The service was a bit iffy though, there were 3 employees. One of which did a good job all around interacting with guests and serving good drinks, one was a guy that seemed to be in training so was a bit timid to go out on his own, and one was a larger female that was absolutely terrible. She would greet and setup every single table, then never come back. We watched as every single group waited 10+ minutes for her to come back, but she never did. She spent the entire time talking to two regulars at the bar and giving them what seemed like a dozen free tasters. Overall though, this is an awesome place that I’ll definitely go back to… I just hope that bartender isn’t there.“

“This place is engraved in my mind from a random snowstorm that struck about 8 years ago. In a nutshell, my friend and I got stuck at McMenamins from a snowstorm then ate and drank like royalty. Their food is delicious and their brews top it off for the ultimate experience. So next time there's a snowstorm, drop by John Barleycorns.“

“The gluten free food here is some of the best I've ever had. You'd never guess it's gluten free. The fried chicken is crunchy, moist as you bite into it and flavorful. Even better are the fish and chips. If you have celiacs and want to eat food you've not had in years this is the place. The beers are gluten free and delicious.“

Beer is mid. I tried Fracture's Pale and west coast IPA: nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. Very west coast flavor that neither pushes boundaries or offends.

“Great local taproom. They play great music on a double record player, and great live music on the weekends. The cider in particular is very good. The food is hot or miss, the pizza is great if a little pricey, the apps and sandwiches are getting better.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not easily accessed by wheelchair that I could see. At least one or 2 steps at every entrance.“

“Spacey brewery with a large selection of beers, a decent food menu, other drink options, and affordable prices. There are two sections of seating available, one with table service and one where you order from a QR code. I’m not sure if there was bar seating there or now. The burger was good but the fries are what made the dish, and I really enjoyed the beee that I had. Would definitely come here again if I ever find myself in Portland again!“

“Our first visit . . instantly charmed. We wanted to have a pre event drink or two before our corporate dinner up the street and are we ever glad we did. Very nice atmosphere and service, great beer of course and a very inviting looking back patio area. Also, really enjoyed the hanging plants and skylight. We definately plan to come back.“

“Super cool Movie Theater! There is a ton of seating, even upstairs like in a theater. The building itself is really cool and also has a bar next door that is super fun. For the movie, you can buy actual food and drinks and some of the seats in the theater have tables, so you can eat and watch comfortably. “Excellent Coffee Tour. The gentleman that did the tour was extremely knowledgeable about all things coffee. It was easy to follow the things that he said and we were able to sample the Sumatra and Kenya blends. I Love That Mcmenamins makes the extra effort to make sure they are working with fair trade brands and no chemicals. Its so cool to learn about the ends and outs of roasting the beans and the formulas they have to follow. I had no idea all that went into making an awesome cup of coffee.“

“We made it here during happy hour and it was great. We had the happy hour smash burgers, Cajun tots, Caesar salad and churros. I would go back for 1,000 of those burgers. We also had one drink which was made perfectly (Spar citrus vodka, muffled lemon and lime, and soda water). Service was amazing. I’ll be back soon.“

“Stopped in for a date night dinner to check out the atmosphere and seasonal menu. Big Grateful Dead fan so I was excited!! Walked in and they were playing Jerry over the speakers and the place is filled with Grateful Dead decor. We walked around and took it all in while waiting for our drinks to arrive. It is mostly handmade decor but there is a lot to look at.

Started with a Cider Flight and a Strawberry Lemonade. The Ciders were good, with the Blackberry was the best in my opinion. Strawberry Lemonade was weak and didn't taste like lemonade. I think that lemonade wa the only disappointing aspect to the meal.

Food came and we decided to split a Tuna Melt with Cajun Fries and Cheese Curds. The Tina Melt was toasted to perfection and delicious. Not too much sauce so it didn't drip a ton. Cajun Fries had a kick and paired expertly with the Peppercorn Ranch, which is maybe some of the best Ranch I've EVER had!! Cheese Curds were extra crunchy and delicious! Overall, the food did not disappoint and was just enough to fill us up!!

“Only just discovered this location (new to the neighborhood), so only been a few times so far. Each time we've tried something new and have not been disappointed yet. “McMenamins Chapel Pub is such a gem! I ordered the Communications Breakdown sub with the Beyond Meat veggie patty and it was excellent. They make their own sauces and you can really taste the freshness—everything came together perfectly. The fries were crispy and flavorful, and the portion was generous for the price.
