“Oregon Mini Society descended on McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern, and it could not have been a better destination.

First off, the table. If you know, you know. The massive old-growth timber round table just inside the side entrance is worth the visit alone. It’s the kind of table that makes you want to count the growth rings and debate its age over lunch (we considered it… then the food arrived and priorities shifted). It comfortably handled our lively group and instantly set the tone for a relaxed, communal gathering.

The staff was friendly, patient, and genuinely accommodating. When a group of classic car enthusiasts shows up talking oil pressure, tire pressure, and twisty roads, that can go one of two ways. Here, we were welcomed like regulars.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and historic, and the setting makes it an ideal starting point, mid-point, or finish line for any car club tour. Easy access, plenty of space, and just the right vibe for lingering conversations after the engines cool.

If you’re planning a group drive or just want a spot with character and great service, Rock Creek Tavern checks every box.

“It has been super hard to find good sushi near where I live, but this place delivered! And it's an authentic Japanese restaurant ( our server was Japanese and very nice, the back of the menu was also in Japanese). My boyfriend got their katsu curry and it looked, smelled and tasted just like the curry I had in Japan. Super happy with this place“

“We came in about an hour before close, they welcomed us in and let us pick our seats. We were attended to promptly and got our orders in. The chef came out to ask if I was aware of what I was ordering (beef pho with only tripe, since I love tripe and my kids also love it and always steal most of it from me). I kindly let him know we did know and appreciated him making sure we knew what we were ordering. They seemed quite delighted that my young children (7 and 10) were enjoying the tripe so much. Towards the end, my daughter tried a piece of jalapeño that I had added and had been sitting in the soup and had been diluted. She decided that it was not spicy and brazenly attempted to eat a slice of raw jalapeño that came with the pho as well and immediately regretted it. She was in tears and the server was so nice and offered her candies to help with the spice. When she noticed it wasn't helping while I was trying to pay, she got the chef and he came back and gave my daughter milk that helped a bunch. They did not even charge extra, though I did offer. As we were leaving, my daughter gratefully looked up at me and said "mama, they're so kind" with her teary eyes and a smile. We will 100% be back. Super tasty food at a good price but most importantly, such lovely staff members. I am beyond grateful to them for our experience tonight.“

“Very calming. Good location. Mango lassi is the best I’ve had! I had the paneer mutter mushroom ( very creamy a little sweet and great flavor!) and the cheese masala dosa (it’s a filled crepe and comes with dipping sauces) with some garlic naan bread baked here. Everything tastes fresh and very lovely people. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options!“

“Had a wonderful Veterans meal at thr Tanasborne location. Casey was our server. She was very professional and friendly,. Everything was prepaired just as requested, and she stopped by to ask if everything was OK 3 or 4 times. The best Veterans meal I have ever had. Will be returning again many times before next year. “I remember going to their original location down on Main St. right next to/connecting to the Half Moon. I moved here in 2008 and have known them for 14 years now. From the very first time, they all treated me with respect and kindness, very genuine and humble... GREAT PEOPLE!! It used to be you could dine in at both places. “This family owned place is a staple i tell people about across the world (littorally multiple times while in japan). This is the place that makes mexican food well. It is always made well without fail. I miss the toppings bar from a few years back, but the whole restaurant always feels up to par or exceeding standards. “Love this brewery! Staff are friendly, the beer is absolutely top notch, place is small but cozy and inviting! Generally have some excellent shanties playing and a dart board in the corner...taste of Irish, anyone?! Brewer does a phenomenal scotch ale, and the Meanderin' Mandarin Pale Ale is delicious. I could drink that stuff for brekky! Comedy nights, bottle swaps, and other events on a regular basis. Check them out! Kudos, Three Mugs!“

“We went for the Wassail Cider Fest for the first time and it was energetic! The band performance was something I'd never seen before and hosting it in their barn really added to the experience. They had a great cider selection from a very wide variety of vendors. It was very crowded and difficult to move around at times due to the high volume of traffic. The parking lot was full so we parked nearby at the Fred Meyer and walked which was to be expected. We got food from their restaurant after and besides a slightly burnt pattie on one of our burgers, they do a good job. And service is always great. Overall we had a great time! Spending per person includes our event tickets which was $48 per person.“

“We had a late lunch around 2pm here on a Saturday after fishing near Hagg lake. We had a party of 9 and had a party room available that could fit us all together at one table. We appreciated being able to be seated together. They do charge a tip/service charge of 18% to use the room. We tried the chicken teriyaki don, katsu don, beef don, and salmon teriyaki don,oyakodon, as well as a salmon avocado roll. Everything was presented nicely and tasty. The dons included a small dish of soy based green beans. The one drawback was the kitchen was a little on the slow side, perhaps due to the time (2pm) we were being served.“
