“Had the most amazing experience here! They were able to get us as a walk in but I would definitely make reservations next time! We sat at the bar and had the most amazing food. Definitely would stop here if you have the chance. This place is worth waiting until dinner for. The view of the sunsetting over the water while eating exquisite food, there is nothing quite like it. Each bite was absolutely amazing like music dancing across your taste buds. My husband and I loved everything we tried. We got coconut shrimp, oysters and chips, and lingcod with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts.
The coconut shrimp mixed with the seaweed salad gave the perfect balance of refreshing and rejuvenating paired with the exquisite mango honey marinade.
The oysters and chips were phenomenal, the chips were crisp and hot with the perfect amount of seasoning and the oysters weren’t too fishy.
The lingcod melted in your mouth with each bite. When eating the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with each bite of lingcod, I couldn’t imagine a better combination for all of my tastebuds.
Our only compliant was how hot it was in the restaurant, it was quite hot and was easy to start over heating.“

“My friend and I had lunch here on April 4th. The menu has so many interesting dishes it was hard to decided what to order. We had the small plate scallops, a dozen grilled oysters and shared the black cod salad. Everything was fantastic and prepared perfectly. I had their specialty "for a cause" cocktail Guardian Forest; I loved it. My friend had their bloody mary and said it was good. I was not bothered at all by the 20% add for service. The service was great and the food was delicious; so I would have tipped that anyways. I loved that there is fresh fish market and they also sell other products they make there, like the bloody mary mix, salad dressings, tartar sauce, salamon spread, etc. I look forward to returning again.“

“We visited in 2018 while on a cross country camping trip. I never wrote a review but we often talk about how good our meal was. Very generous offerings. We shared a crab cocktail that was loaded with crab and the ciopinno & pasta. I chatted with the chef/owner about the ol submarine steamers. Found the place on a whim as we were walking by and some folks sitting out front waiting for them to open lured us in. So glad we did! We are 3000 miles away now but hope to get back that way someday.“

“We stopped by for lunch during our search for the best fish and chips on the Oregon Coast. Started with a small cup of clam chowder that was perfect. Super thick and flavorful, hot, fresh and containing nice chunks of clam. A big Yes to that one. Next we enjoyed the Coconut Prawn appetizer. The menu describes the sauce served with this item as a curry, but we did not get notes of that while enjoying it. Usually restaurants smash the prawns flat which IMHO dries them out during cooking. These were butterflied and allowed to retain natural shape then coated lightly and deep fried. Delish just like that, but NO - they add a bed of cabbage, sprinkle fresh coconut and chopped mango chutney on top! No sauce needed- they were amazing. Hubby doesn't even like coconut and he loved this dish. We could have ended there but then our rock fish and chips arrived. Beautiful medium ( nicely uniform) pieces of fish, lightly battered and cooked to crisp perfection- thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the fish. He really enjoyed the 'chips', I prefer wedge cut or square. The coleslaw was not favored by either of us, I think more traditional ( mayo and vinegar based) goes better with the dish. I would describe it as Asian inspired, but didn't go deep. All in all a strong 4.7 out of 5 and we will return when in Newport.“

The food , clam chowder and tacos were very good. We also got to see sea lions and fishing off the bridge as we eat

“Been wanting to try this place for a long time. They just leveled up from a food cart to a brick and mortar restaurant 3 weeks ago. Everyone I have spoke to that has been here before raves about their clam Chowder and fish & chips. So we got both! We also got the Cole slaw, rosemary fries and a chicken cordon blue sandwich. Everything was lovely, we even liked the chowder more than we did at Tidal Raves which is one hell of a compliment.“

“We came to the original Mo’s after visiting the sea lions. We have eaten here many times. This time we came with our daughter, son in law and their three year old. Because the weather was pretty good (mid 60’s) we thought outside was best for the three year old. Turns out we can’t have crayons to go with the ‘color me’ menu because they fall on the ground and melt … it was mid 60’s … said three year old was UPSET. He had a color me menu and no crayons. THEN we had to order with the outside order lady who said her Diet Pepsi and Dr Pepper fountain drinks weren’t working. But we absolutely could not order those drinks inside because that would mean an additional ticket. ??? Not sure what the problem is with that? She doesn’t get the tip that was automatically added to our bill? The server was awesome but the system seems flawed. Pretty sure we are done with Mo’s. We will find somewhere else to get our fresh fish. Oh … by the way … we are from Texas and have been coming to the Oregon coast for 46 years … and have always visited one of the Mo’s locations. But the last two visits have been disappointing. Cannot recommend.“

“Gracie's Sea Hag is a local staple! The atmosphere is great as is the food. I rated this a four due to the baked patato being a bit bland and dry, even being loaded, which was kind of a small amount of cheese and bacon bit topping. It definitely could have used more toppings and been cooked just a tad more. The stuffed salmon was good, but I'm not sure it was $38 good. Our drinks were great and my GF's salmon and chips was very delicious.“

“We loved, loved, loved our waiter. And the hostess was awesome. However, given that we had a reservation and had to wait 30-40 minutes past that reservation time, standing around, UGH. That was difficult with a group of 8 and only a few chairs for waiting and them being filled. The food was awesome of course! And, we had our BEST EVER waiter at LO this visit. A super nice guy, who was friendly and funny -- that has not always been the case with prior wait service making you feel unwelcomed -- this was quite different this time and it was really nice! We brought 6 people with us from out of town, and other than the long wait (even though we had reservation) - the night was great and everyone enjoyed the food tremendously and of course, we will continue to bring our out of town guests, but I hope the reservation can actually work out where we can be seated within 10-15 minutes of reservation, not 30-40. THE HOSTESS IS AWESOME. What a great attitude and patience working the front desk! Wow...“

“When we ended up leaving The Horn due to lack of service, we came to West Coast Chowder. The service was fantastic. They even got an order of mac and cheese going for my child immediately, before we sat, understanding that she was hungry and we had already been waiting a while to eat before trying this place. Our server, Rocky, took very good care of us, the food tasted good, and the price was good too. The place was clean and had decent views from the front window. Thanks so much!

“The seafood rigatoni was very good, with great flavors! The chicken sandwich however was very dry. Unpalatably dry chicken. The waiter was friendly and on top of things, food came out quickly.“

“Newport on a Tuesday night. We drove to five restaurants before finding Zach’s Bistro. Although He was sold out of almost everything, we were able to get the most amazing dinner ever! Even my five-year-old grandson loved the food. I had the fish cakes, with artichoke and dill. Oh my goodness! It was amazing. My daughter had perfectly cooked salmon dinner. Desert was an awesome chocolate, berry and browned marshmallow. I am so happy we stumbled on this fine dining restaurant on the edge of Nye Beach area in Newport Oregon!“

“Today blew my mind away!! We have been going here for years. And the last time we went (right after covid it was not that great so today I was hesitant) but what astounded me, our server (sorry don’t know name) invited us and our dogs in. WHAT!! We were there for my Valor’s (Husky) last coast trip ever! Any day he will no longer be with us. This place he remembers as we have sat outside on the bench (cold/hot) and ate our food. He loves it. Plus on top of it, when she found out she had a hamburger patty cooked for him (no charge), even after he got snippy when she tried to clean up water. (But that is his training to keep my circle open and not let anyone distract him or me plus he’s 13 hard of hearing and loosing sight), Anyways she was so fantastic, and OMG THE FOOD I REMEMBER IS BACK. THE CLAM CHOWDER BEST EVER! Cod was so moist and delicious, husband ordered that mixture like a stew with a bunch of different meats. Holy cow right on spot. Even the bread was perfect. Most of all my dogs loved it, they were well behaved, even had a couple say “oh I have to sit next to those gorgeous puppies”, then heard our story and we cried. At the end our waitress said “can your son hold Valor so I can give you a hug?” She gave me the biggest hug ever, so did another customer. (Btw she said as long as dogs are well behaved and not mean they are welcome SO COOL)

This was such an amazing/emotional experience! The best one yet at this Chowder Bowl that I was hesitant about. I am so happy and glad she invited us in. I will definitely be going back in memory of Valor with Penny. Ready to have fantastic service and food.
