“Consistently outstanding. They do their own local delivery which is a genuine attribute on a night where you just don't want to venture out.The wait staff is superior and always cheery and friendly. Nothing but the highest praise.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible for physically handicapped diners, perfect for a wheelchair plus during warmer weather they have outside seating that's glorious.“
“Street Wok is an excellent choice if you’re looking for standard Chinese food done exceptionally well. All the regular go-to’s are fresh and well-flavored - sesame chicken, orange chicken, won-ton soup etc. The food is several notches above the usual fare you’ll fine in most US cities. Located in an unremarkable strip mall with basic, almost barren decor, it’s easy to miss. Most people seem to do to-go orders, and the dine-in experience includes a looping Chinese song that played a minimum 12 times during our 30 minute lunch :-)“
“This is one of only a few places that serve Laksa, which is what I was looking for. It was very good, and very filling. When asked, they told me they serve Laksa because the owner was from Singapore. As others have noted, the staff is very nice.“
“One of my top 5 favorite place to eat in PDX. The sesame noodles are bright, fresh, and chewy. Served chilled and perfect for summer time. The pork is tender and perfectly seasoned.I have a difficult time finding food that's not too spicy (seems a current PDX trend). They balance it perfectly. I'd more or less given up on enjoying that mouth numbing delightfulness of the Sichuan peppercorn without being blasted with the heat of a million chilies. But they've found the sweet spot. Prices on par with other places in the area. Plus you can enjoy the food in their neighboring establishment, Holy Ghost.I highly recommend paring any noodle dish with the 5min Gin Fizz!“
“Literally can't not tell you how amazing this place is. Not only are they the KINDEST humans, but the food was beyond incredible. I was craving shrimp, and it was not on the regular menu since it's a random special. Surprisingly, he said he had some and would make it for me. We had the lollipop garlic noodles which were DELICIOUS, tofu, the fried chicken, and shrimp garlic noodles. They were so accommodating. We will be back 1 million percent.“
“Amazing food and so many vegan options. We got chow mein, fried rice, garlic broccoli, sweet and sour tofu, egg rolls, and dumplings and everything was delicious. Very good portion sizes, too! We will have leftovers for a while now, yay. Definitely will be back!“
“They have authentic Orange Chicken! A lot of Chinese restaurants serve the Chicken and sauce separately to save money where you have to dip the chicken into the sauce. Not at Golden Taste! They actually take the time to cook the sauce INTO the chicken which is the way it should be done! Also their fried won ton is the best I had in a long time! Friendly staff and good atmosphere. This is my go to place from now on.“
“Solid vegetarian options. Different items for specials than I e had anywhere else and they were very good. Really enjoyed the curry and the jalepenos. Threw a side of pan fried noodles with the jalepenos and it was a delight.Vegetarian options: Good options that are tasty!“
“Super stoked to have a solid Chinese takeout style spot so close to me. The lunch special was a great price and the portions were perfect. The food was quality. I’m a sucker for crispy beef and was super pleased with my order.Crab puffs was killer as well“
“I highly recommend the Xiao Long Bao; the rich soup and generous filling make it almost perfect. The dry-fried green beans have a rich flavor, and the hot and sour soup is delicious too. Their egg drop soup is a favorite among kids. We also ordered the assorted fried noodles, which had plenty of ingredients and a large portion size. However, some of the pan-fried dumplings(紅油抄手) were overcooked and the skin was too soft. The dry pot series is also highly recommended; we tried the dry pot intestine. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the food here. However, the service is just okay and could be better."“
“This place is seriously my favorite restaurant in Portland, if not anywhere. The orange veggie chicken is my go to, and the shrimp is also amazing. I've been a vegetarian for 13 years and very rarely have I found veggie Chinese food that isn't tofu. The options here are mindblowing.“
“Went for lunch and had a seafood combo for two. It was heaven! Also had their seasonal teacup dumplings which, should not be seasonal and a staple but something to look forward to! So much food. Great taste! Fun presentation and experience. Service was wonderful, attentive, and friendly. Can't wait to go back and try more!“
“Literally one of the best Chinese food places I’ve eaten at in the Portland area. I don’t understand any of the under 4-5 star reviews here! Everything we’ve tried from this place has been amazing, incredibly flavorful, nourishing and delicious. The Sour Won Ton Soup, Mongolian Beef Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chow Mein, any of their fried rice, and the rib dishes are some of our favorites. Very reasonably priced as well considering most restaurant pricing these days. They also have a yummy drink menu with bubble teas. Perfect place for a date night, family meal or getting takeout. If you live in Happy Valley and you haven’t tried this place yet…definitely do!!“
“I had vegetarian lo mein noodles that was delicious. Generous small pea pods, roasted green beans etc Delicious. They also make great egg rolls. They are deep fried but the oil is light the filling delicious and the dipping sauces just right. The number 8 has Mar Far chicken which is deepfried with that same lightness leaving the flavor of the chicken and the filling of the shrimp roll unencumbered by any oily tasteVegetarian options: Make requests. The vegetarian lo mein wasn't on the menu so I asked if they could and they did. Next time I go I'm going to ask if they can make tofu General Tso's no chicken. The hot and sour soup was tasty and brothy. Same for their Egg Flower soup“
“For my dad's birthday yesterday, I went with the whole family. The mongolian beef and kung pao shrimp that I had was delicious. The rice was freshly cooked and the soy sauce tasted good as well. We will be back next time, Even the water and tea was good and the service was very friendly. Never messed up our orders, will be back again:)Vegetarian options: The veggies are probably the only thing that comes to mind! But other then that no vegetarian options are available here.Parking: The parking is not too crowded but does become that way on every Friday and Monday.Kid-friendliness: I did see some kids come through here so it is also very kid friendly.“
“They prefer cash but do accept credit cards due to increased merchant fees.Anyways, I drove from Beaverton just to try this spot and I'd do it again since it was worth it. Don't expect a 5 star atmosphere but for what they offer, it hits the spot. I liked it better than the most recent pho (Vietnamese food) I've had. The Chinese donut was delicious too. Not overly sweet. Some might even say not sweet enough. You can modify the type of noodles that the noodle soup comes with. I think I had the thin vermicelli noodles. Others I overheard had the thicker ones.Very laid-back. Limited dine in spots for when they're busy however. But I don't think you can beat the price at this very moment.I ordered the number 9. Brisket and beef noodles.Parking: Lots of graffiti on the fences but there seemed to be plenty of parking when I arrived. May have a difficult time turning left during rush hour however when exiting their premise.“
“Never disappoints! Love their napa cold slaw salad that comes with the buns, always crunchy and yummy. Miso pork belly bun is so freakin good I keep coming back for MORE! The bun itself is so fluffy and most likely the best steamed bun you can find in town!“
“Five stars as usual! Thank you for our food! Served fast and hot and always SO much food! We appreciate your business. Sorry for the absolutely rude lady that was in tonight. We've never had a bad experience In all our yrs of getting food. Also best portion of crab puffs in town!“
“The dim sum is good but like most dim sum restaurants, it can get really busy and service can get slow but that's understandable. Crowds stack up fast on weekends so try to get there early or be prepared to wait for a table. I'd say it's the best dim sum in town but it's not like there's too many dim sum options in Portland.“
“Very tasty Chinese dine-in and takeout. I particularly enjoy the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Chicken Almond Subgum. Prompt and friendly service, and a very unusual mint & mauve color scheme.Vegetarian options: Tofu dishes.Parking: 20-30 spaces. I always find a space.“
“I'm stingy with 5-Stars, this earns more like 4.5, but heck, let's round up.Winner, Winner on taste and price, i.e., value. The first item is usually the most popular and that applies here: the pan fried rice cakes were excellent? The salted fish and chicken fried rice is one of the best versions I've tried. For certain, it's tops in Portland. The complementary tea was above average, while the iced limeade was oh so refreshing.Service was friendly and fast. Prices are more than fair. Ambiance is so-so as it seems like the seating layout could be improved to allow for more customers. Parking can be tough during peak hours. Lastly, they close way too early for an Asian restaurant, especially a popular tone.“
“I can't pronounce anything that I ordered except for the "Meat Folder," (yes, really) but gosh darn it every single thing they (over)served me was amazing. Street parking only though, save for two tiny spots in the back that even a Vespa would be hard-pressed to fit into.Parking: Park on the street.“
“I ordered large hot and sour soup and it's the best I have ever had. It's perfect. Filled with meat and goodness. It has more ingredients than I've had in hot and sour soup before. The hot and sour soup I've had from other restaurants have had more water than ingredients. It has the perfect amount of spicy for a price of $7, that's wonderful. It's a beautiful restaurant inside and out. I love the lighting and decorations. It's a very peaceful environment. Happy year of the Dragon. (:Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such. ?Parking: They have a one way parking lot/loop. It was busy which is a good sign but there was a spot for me.“
“Best chow fun in town. Can't get fresher noodles anywhere because they supply most of the Chinese restaurants and stores in town with their noodles. Their fried rice is really good, too. They also make their own tofu, both fresh and fried. Their rice noodle rolls are good, too. just have to get their early in the day because they sell out fast. The owners are some of the nicest people and work extremely hard. Love giving them my business.“
“We tried BHP bc Hot Pot City was closed. Oh my. What a treat! If, like me, you are heartbroken that HPC closed, BHP has been waiting for you. Instead of AYCE, they bring out a mass of food. Plenty of beef and beautifully marbled pork. There was a basket of cabbage and bok choy. A tray w tofu, clear noodles, enoki mushrooms, meatballs and tofu sheets. Never had them before and they were quite tasty. And, the handmade noodles!! We had the split half spicy, half regular broth. My brother eats chile peppers whole. He could handle the spicy. I love spicy but next time I will go regular and dip in chile oil. The broth is very tasty even before you start cooking. I wish I saved room to drink it all, but we were stuffed. You could easily feed three and enjoy potsticker and more veggies. We will definitely be back!!Parking: BHP is setback from the street, in the back of the parking lot.i had a navigator who directed me. I would have passed it.“
“Greetings,Was hungry after work and the Veggie Lo Mein looked good and wasn't too spendy. It was delicious and flavorful with lots of veggies. Would definitely get again.Have also tried a bubble tea that was good as well, and I like I could choose the milk and it includes 2 add ins.Customer service is excellent ?. Great job all around: thank you!“
“I grew up going here and had to go back on a recent trip home, it was such a pleasant surprise to see the bright and airy remodel, it looks so good! I've always been a fan of their food, the perfect crispy and sweet deep fried goodness you can't help but love. They've also added some new things to the menu too! We got the family style dinner special and it was even better than I remembered.Vegetarian options: The salt and pepper tofu is AMAZING“
“Man on man what can I say is sushi and Chinese food is your idea of good food you got to try this place you will not be disappointedVegetarian options: They go out of your way for a special requests and they do it right they strive to put out good food and never had a bad plate of food yet“
“I have never been to this place in all my life. But today I was at the seafood store next door to this restaurant and I was hungry, so my dad and I decided to check out this place. Our waitress gave us a nice table, and we ordered our food. It came surprisingly quickly and it was delicious. We couldn't finish all the food, so we took it home.In all, this was perfect experience. Customer service was exelent, and the exterior is majestic. It is like you have been transported to another country for a little time if you life.I recommend that everyone come to this restaurant. Trust me, you will not regret it.“
“I'm vegan and their tofu with vegetables over rice noodles was very good. Hot and fast. Good service and clean restaurant. Recommend. They should be busier on a Saturday night but I read a lot of people order to go from them.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie dishes and tofu dishes and bean curd soupsDietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly“
“Love this place! Never been there but I use DoorDash. LOVE the egg drop soup. Has some veggies in it along with plenty of egg, nice texture. Also love the fried rice, and the spring rolls are fabulous. Food travels well. It always makes me happy. Gotta go, it just arrived....“
“Best Chinese food around! Service is great. Food is amazing! Amazing little hole in the wall kinda place. Not over priced. My kids are super picky and they loved their egg flower soup and BBQ pork. Can't wait to plan our next family date night there!“
“I have been eating here for 20+ years, off and on...moving out of state and back. The food has consistently been good all of that time. The wait staff is the best. The prices are reasonable. You just can't go wrong eating at this place. It is good!!! Well-known by locals.Parking: You can park across the street at night.“
“We play the occasional pool match out of here. The tables are decent. They've had problems with the roof leaking occasionally, and that might shut down a table or two. They do their best to get the roof fixed, but the leak seems to keep moving spots. The chinese food is great and one of my favorite places to get some. They've added a covered back patio in the last couple of years and have an older pool table out there.Parking: Parking is out front and back, with a few spots along one side of the building.“
“This place has great food and oh so good service. Lunch special is 8.95 and includes soup spring roll and rice. Kung pao chicken is delicious. Might want to stay away from the Sesame beef. Too much coating for my taste. Best Chinese food since we moved back here 8 yrs. ago. You should try it.“
“When it comes to the "3 star rule" for Chinese food, Bamboo Cafe breaks the norm. Do not brush this spot off. The food is fairly priced (all food is expensive these days, get over it) and it was even better priced a few years ago.Large servings, great flavor, fast service. What more could you ask for? Been coming here for years and it has been consistent the whole time. I will continue to come here into the future and I can only pray that they stay open until the day I die.“
“We had lunch here. Very clean restaurant with clean bathroom. Their roast pork and duck seemed to be very popular. Lots of take-outs for those items. Roast duck sold out by the time we finished lunch. Right amount of salt in their food. We will definitely return in the future.“
“Honestly I love having a super cheap option for Chinese food but you really get what you pay for. I have only been 3 times and they have gotten my order wrong twice. Maybe they really don’t know what the difference is between chow mein, lo mein and sub gum but I do and now I’m pissed especially after arguing with the guy about what they gave me and he assured me it was the chow mein (translates to fried noodle) to which I got sub gum (which I hate). His words were “chow mein is not yellow noodle (yes it is) and it is actually the lo mein” (roughly translates to cold noodle)(and again I didn’t get either of those)Update- been getting the general tsao chicken with fried rice and side crab Rangoon like once a month for the last year! It’s the good kinda cheap Chinese food“
“Wow. All I can say is wow! This place was so much fun. The bartender was great (I think her name was tabby). The prices were pretty good. At first you walk in and see a very small space with almost nothing going on but after 2 hours of drinking you find yourself surrounded by interesting and fun people. We have been here twice and had lots of fun both times. The only thing I can complain about is the terrible fried food and I've heard that some staff work for free. Also there is no beer on tap and you can never win on the gambling machines.“
“I have eaten here for years. Great reasonably priced food. The food is like old school Chinese Food. The egg fu Yung is made with the vegetables and meat incorporated into the patties. They are light and flavorful. The sweet and sour chicken is perfect. They only do takeout.“
