“The Love. Umm, yes please. The vibe. The food. The staff. All great.I went for a solo dinner while in town for a conference. I initially wanted to get the fried chicken with grits and collards but my Server mentioned the special for the night, the ribeye with macaroni & cheese and said he’d go with the ribeye. So I did! It was a double the price but I was out of town and why not treat myself to a steak! It did not disappoint, so so good. Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache so I didn’t have a cocktail but the iced tea was good. ? I live in Atlanta, so hopefully I’ll be back soon enough to try out a drink. I had a lovely meal and it was pretty busy Sunday night. I guess it’s a popular spot.“

“Walking in here and you're immediately greeted with a wonderful dark and cozy ambiance reminiscent of the early half of the 20th century. Decor and music all match the theme, and the mural of dogs overlook all diners. The wine and spirit menu is very extensive, and the cocktails are premium. The sidecar was actually 10/10 blended and tasted exactly as it should. The biscuits served to start come with delicious honey butter and are quite tasty, warm, and flaky. Steak was cooked beautifully and was a high end chop. The blue cheese melted on top added great savory flavor to complement the steak. The sides were great as well. Nicely cooked sprouts and very buttery, creamy mashed potatoes. Do recommend the baked Alaska though it is very sugary! Quite an uncommon dessert and they do it well. Nice end to the meal. Overall a very tasty and memorable dinner. Thanks“

“First time at River Twice.Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a $75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a crème sauce.Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead.Well made, filling, and slightlyunremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. Finally, the winter citrus creamsicle was fun, creative, light, and the perfect ending to a super cool dining experience. Highly recommend River Twice for the adventurous eater!“

“Customer service was exceptional. Seating area was a bit small but everyone was so friendly and worked as a team. Honestly the best service I ever had. I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. Eyes rolled in the back of his head y’all. Everything was so well and for my first time they left a lasting impression. Would definitely dine here again. I’m just disappointed the shrimp creole isn’t on the regular menu.“

“Decadent parties and fragrant coffee, this cafe is a must visit. The pistachio sticky bun lives up to its reputation! The bagels are more like a sandwich than bagel but also delicious. It gets quite crowded on weekends so come early for a spot. They have a cute outdoor patio for the warmer months.“

“Celebrated our 5th anniversary here tonight while visiting Philly. Beautiful ambiance and impeccable service. Rebecca our server was kind, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our experience great. We did the Chef’s which was seasonal, thoughtful and delicious. Each serving was creative and intriguing. Compliments to Chef Kevin McWilliams. If you live in or near the Philly area please give this place a try!“

“Amazing little bar with a great beer selection and excellent bar food. The wings were among the best I’ve ever had (and I’m from Alberta - we take wings seriously!) knowledgeable server and very friendly. They put a lot of care into the food and drink of this bar and it shows.“

“Absolutely loved the Sundae. Potato chips and kettle corn must be in all of my sundaes going forward. The latkes were phenomenal - must order. The harissa broccoli was delish. The burrata and focaccia was a delightful favourite. The Caesar salad was overdressed and the croutons were too hard for my preference. The pepperoni pasta was exactly that - not the worst but it was something I'd make drunk in my kitchen at 3 am. Fries were meh.A solid 4 on the food front. Go just for the decor alone, feeling like I was in an 80s golf clubhouse. The pool table is cute and fun too.“

“A bit loud but great food and so many choices! I would say they offer a good price for the quality. The pizza was top notch - fresh ingredients and well made, as were the polish pierogi, much lighter and more enjoyable than what I’ve had elsewhere. Definitely make a reservation. And there’s no signage outside so make note of the street address so you can find the right door (only the number outside). Have a blast there!Vegetarian options: Yes, many!“

“If you're a cheesesteak aficionado like me, then this spot is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. First off, let's talk about the star of the show - the cheesesteak itself. It's evident that they take pride in using only the freshest ingredients, with the steak never seeing the inside of a freezer. The soft sesame seed wedge perfectly complements the juicy, flavorful meat. And speaking of meat, they don't skimp on quality here. Wagyu, rib eye, and NY strip - need I say more? Each bite is a savory symphony of premium beef. What truly sets this place apart is their commitment to cooking each cheesesteak to order. No dried-out meat sitting on the side of the grill here. Every sandwich is crafted with care, ensuring maximum freshness and flavor. Now, I'll admit, the price may be a tad higher than your average cheesesteak joint, but trust me, it's worth every penny. You're paying for top-notch ingredients and impeccable craftsmanship. And the customer service was on point! From the friendly greeting at the door to the attentive staff throughout our meal, they made us feel like valued guests. If you're in downtown Philly craving a cheesesteak experience that's a cut above the rest, look no further. This place delivers on quality, flavor, and hospitality. Can't wait to come back for more!!“

“My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner. Excellent music playing, including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Townes van Zandt and beautiful, cozy atmosphere. Began with the venison scrapple (to die for), then to the cheese board (delicious goat cheese), pierogies (incredibly delicate). Then to the venison which was cooked to perfection along with the various sides. Dessert was a cheesecake tart and Elwood tea, very tasty and rich cheesecake. The 2 cookies at the 2nd were also delicious. I don't know if I ever had a better time at a restaurant, but this is easily top 5 meals I've had in years.“

“Once again, another wonderful meal! I ordered the Brussels sprout salad which I had not tried before. Glad I did! Lovely mix of crunchy sprouts, cranberries, walnuts, apple& Gorgonzola with dressing that complimented all of the flavors. Also had the salmon appetizer which is reliably excellent. Main courses of doradd & short rib delicious. I loved the chocolate cake & the “taste” of crème brûlée & ice cream are a great way to try several desserts. Veronica was lovely & helpful. “This brewery is located at 5th street and Spring Garden street. It has a varied menu and I tried the hummus platter which was rich and smooth. Very fresh vegetables and warm pita triangles. A love stout vanilla beer which was smooth n creamy. My friend had an American burger with fries "very juicy" she like the fries too. My other friend had pork belly on bao buns steamed he said it was okay but he isn't pleased with most things unless his Mom makes it. Service was fantastic!! We ate outside in an enclosed area with ceiling heaters. Quieter. Inside there is a rectangular bar and a huge room filled with Highwood and picnic tables with TVs all around. A great place to meet friends and hangout to watch sports. There beers are excellent.“

“Came here for a business dinner. It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. This is definitely a high end place that is worth a visit. This may be one of the best restaurants in Philly.“

“In from va beach for vball tournament. Local friend showed me around and I was lucky enough to land here. The short rib with asparagus and potatoes as side was nothing other than amazing. “The food was amazing! Although they had a children’s menu, we decided to order a plate for the kids to share. We ordered the mussels (appetizer), slow cooked pork chop, braised beef short ribs and the roasted salmon (mains). Everything was delicious. The pork chop and beef ribs were extremely tender and juicy. The risotto that came with the beef ribs was full of flavor. We cleaned the plates and my kids (who are picky eaters) ate everything, including the vegetables. Not only was the food great, but the service was exceptional. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Our server (regret not asking for his name) stopped by several times throughout our meal to make sure everything was good and to check if we needed anything else. After paying our bill, we were on our way to get our car and found out it was towed because we parked in a no parking zone. (Beware of the signs and read carefully.) Not knowing what to do, we went back to the restaurant for help. That’s how friendly and approachable the staff was. They all helped by looking up phone numbers for the Philadelphia parking authority (I’m not from Philly), helping me call a cab and staying with us (even though they were closing) until our cab arrived. My kids and I are now back at our hotel and extremely grateful for their help. I never really write reviews, but I had to write this one. My first trip to Philly was definitely an unforgettable experience. If I ever take another trip back here, I will definitely come back to Redcrest Kitchen.“

“Great service great food and was in great taste. Not ideal for large groups but we managed to get Reservations for a party of 8 and was seated in the back near the kitchen. They had fantastic craft drinks, delish foods to share like family style and great ambience! Located in a cute neighborhood although it was a little scary to drive to in very narrow streets that are one way, so glad we Uber-ed there since the street parking was a bit cramped as well. “I’m not sure if this page is current…seems you have moved to a new location, but I wanted to leave a review anyway. My family had dinner at your new location yesterday and it was hands down the best service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I never really take the time to leave reviews so the fact that I’m doing so speaks volumes. Food, atmosphere, service, and prices were all top notch. It’s always a struggle to find a restaurant with all 4 of those qualities, let alone a menu with enough options to please everyone in my family since they all have different tastes. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable and the owner even came out to greet us. We will definitely be back soon!“

“The food was delicious, albeit pricy, and was neatly complemented by the DJ set as part of their spring happy hour celebrations. “Vernick Food & Drink- Philadelphia, Pa. 5 Stars NUMBER 1 ALL USA ALL-TIME!! As we drive north on Christmas Eve I felt a stop in the City of Brotherly Love was appropriate. It was not easy to reserve a fine dining adventure. Vernick could get us in at 11:00pm. I took it because I know how highly regarded this locale is. As we were driving I called and asked if there had been any cancellations. Lucky for me there was. 6:30pm. With a nine year old in tow it was much better. So we get to the restaurant and it's very small but packed to the rafters with people. This to me is always a good sign. All of the tables were very close together. However, being in an establishment like this you never have to worry. Everyone was dressed up and professional. They only downside to this review is it was too dark inside for me to snap pics of the food. I took them but they did not come out well. On to the substance of the experience. The drink menu is easily the coolest array of cocktails I have ever experienced. I started with the House Old Fashioned. A perfect balance of flavors between the bourbon, the butters and the Demerara sugar. My second drink was the Deshler a fine combination of top shelf rye whiskey, dubonnet and dry curaçao. If we were staying in town a few days I would have had more. As I perused the menu I began to wonder why restaurants with a diverse menu like Vernicks do not exist in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I started with fluke served sashimi style in a light piquant broth. The fluke was so fresh it was still moving on my plate. This was my first foray with fluke and it was way worth it. The adventure continued with veal sweetbreads. This organ was so juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent and smooth. I wrapped up with the venison. I have consumed venison over 20 times in my life. Every single time I always got a gamey note at the end. The Vernick venison was sans that note. How they did it I do not know. My daughter who is finicky tried it and thought it was filet mignon. After finishing the meal, we went to exit and the hostess was handing out packs of fresh baked chocolate fudge cookies. Thoroughly amazing. Big Boy rates this number 1 in the country.“

“Visited for lunch on a sunny Sunday. Solid wine and beer list and fantastic food! The only downside was that there is limited seating and we were near the windows. The sun was streaming in and there was no window shade. Not only were we warm, we ate the whole meal with the sun in our eyes! I’m hoping they fix this issue bc it’s an easy fix and the food was truly delicious“

“Went last week and had an amazing experience especially the assistance we received from our waitress and the pastry chef. I had the one of the special entrees of the day- duck breast and since I’m not drinking, their lavender lemonade was both cute and tasty. A little tart, but very lemonadey. My husband got a ton a stuff that I don’t remember, but he enjoyed every drink, appetizer ( it was a tuna bonbon special) and entree. I’ve driven past this place for years, so it was great to finally pop in. Added bonus, located in northwest Philly which is such an amazing part of the city.“

“Another wonderful dining experience at the Valley Green Inn. This time my party of four came for Sunday brunch. We were happily surprised with a complementary basket of warm mini muffins. Which went very well with our glasses of very reasonably priced and good dry white. Two of us had the crabcake sandwich with fries which was delicious. my other two dining companions had salads – one a beautiful quinoa, and the other a large salad with chicken, both of which they enjoyed. Now, the service! We were fortunate to get Tristan again as our server. He was a delight as usual with attentive and upbeat service. As I said, a wonderful dining experience – good food, good service, and the beautiful ambience of the Wissahickon . What could be better. “

“First time here. Food and service were great. We arrived about 430 on a Saturday and I was surprised how busy it was. We only waited 15 minutes for our table but thereafter it got really busy. A little too loud for our taste. People allowing their kids to scream and holler while you’re trying to enjoy your meal and have a conversation. Adults talking so loud as if they are in a club instead of a restaurant. Next time I think we will visit during the week.“
