“The Italian sub from Peppi's in Pittsburgh is a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The generous layers of savory pepperoni, salami, and capicola are perfectly complemented by the crisp freshness of lettuce, tomatoes, and tangy banana peppers. The sandwich is expertly assembled and the bread is just the right amount of crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The robust flavors of the meats are balanced by the creamy richness of the provolone cheese and zesty Italian dressing. Every bite is a satisfying mix of Italian flavors that leaves you wanting more. Overall, Peppi's Italian sub is a must-try for anyone craving a classic, hearty sandwich experience.“
“Stopped by after a leisurely stroll at Riverview Park, and what a gem! The food was delicious, and you can totally tell it’s prepared with love. The staff was super friendly too. Can’t wait to go back and try some other items on the menu!“
“We own a masonry business so we are always on the go. Didnt have time to cook so we decided to stop and pick up some hoagies and salad. First time there and it won't be our last! Everything was fresh and delicious! Everyone who works there were so kind. We will be back!“
“I love this sub shop! The bread and deli ingredients are always fresh, the meatballs are delicious, and the workers go out of their way to learn your sub order so you feel special when you walk in. There’s never a long wait even during a busy lunch rush. I’ll be a repeat customer for a long time!“
“It's a classic older family run restaurant. 1980's Pepsi menu boards, cheap prices, family owned, etc. The subs/hoagies are 100% over rated. Now the burgers, pizzas, fries, broccoli bites are worth it. They are priced well and taste pretty good. Have been there a few times to try their menu and can see going back.“
“I love this spot! I can’t believe I lived in SS for 3 yrs before stepping inside. I love their tot boxes for brunch or dinner and everything I get is always 10/10 I can’t even recommend one item over another! The staff also kindly (once) allowed me to trim and propagate some rogue baby spider plants, which I now enjoy daily in my home!“
“Great service, delicious sandwiches and large portions for the price. Since the meat was tender, our 14-mth old tried the Wiz, the Cathedral and the Butcher and loved all of them. We will be back since it is a short walk from the National Aviary, Carnegie Science Center and Children's museum.“
“I'm visiting Pittsburgh with my girlfriend and we decided to try out this deli. We got a Teresa's Arrosto diManzo and a Tutti. Portions are generous and they come with a pickle spear. We toasted on the pickle and both bit in. The pickle was perfect. The Tutti had a nice balsamic dressing and I polished it off fast. To my girlfriend's chagrin. The Arrosto had a nice horseradish dressing. It was amazing. Definitely enjoyed my time here.“
“Holyyyyy smokes!!!! Is all I can say.Whoever the cooks are, KNOW what they’re doing!! Was worth every penny we spent. Was $46 for two adults and our 2 year old and it was worth every penny! My kiddo loved the burger and friesThe hot wings were delicious, crispy and fresh! The Philly was ?????? and the ol fry burger (I think that’s the name) was BOMB!!!Thank you guys.“
“Last night, after a few hours of running around shopping as a family, the kids wanted McDonald's yet again. Mom and Dad just couldn't stand to stomach another fried fast food meal. So we got the kids what they wanted since they were good and well-behaved, and booked it up the hill from the Waterfront to Jersey Mike's. We arrived about 5 minutes before closing time. Not ideal for an employee that is trying to clean-up the kitchen and store and get home on a Friday night. However the two gentleman working last night on 3/15/24, made sure that we had a delicious Jersey Mike's sub to eat. The young man making the subs could've easily slopped something together for us, but he took the time and care to craft us a quality product that we appreciated and enjoyed. I just wanted to give the two workers a shout out for making our night and truly exemplifying the slogan we see on ads for Jersey Mike's and making it a Sub Above!Thank You!“
“Comfy, tasty, and friendly.Food was great. Tasted like home cooked except better because it's a home that serves dozens of meals on a grill that shares the flavors between all of them. All of us were happy with the food. It was reasonably priced. The waitresses were accomodating to our party of 10 with 4 children and an infant. One of the waitresses played eye candy with my 1 year old and it was cute. The place is quaint, in a nice part of town, and isn't yuppy. It was full of nice people enjoying the atmosphere. Local news was on in the background and the soda machine reminded me of going out when I was a kid.“
“The true authentic Pittsburgh experience; For the most part, the food is the same at all the Primantis but the location in the strip district is the original. Stop at this location if it's your first time in Pittsburgh. The place has the old timer bar feal. Good stop after getting a few beers at the local bars All sandwiches come topped with coleslaw and fresh cut french fries on thick Italian bread. Hot sauce is the condiment of choice with these sandwiches. I recommend the roast, beef and cheese.“
“They make really good sandwiches. I had the Italian sub. The bread was soft and chewy and the fillings were tasty. I will probably go extra meat next time just because it tasted so good. My wife had the fish sandwich. This was no little fish sandwich! The filet of fish hung out a good 3 inches in each side of the bun. It's a plain sandwich with just the fish, but it was light and flakey (you can add cheese, tartar or ketchup. I would definitely recommend it.“
“I have always had a good experience here. Everyone is very friendly and easy to chat with. I always have a good sandwich here but today just seemed to hit the spot. Best sandwich I have had in a while. Fresh produce, layered well, very nicely put together. Thank you guys.“
“Having moved away, it's been thirty ish years since I last had a Primanti bros sandwich, and it's still as tasty as ever. Sure, slaw and fries in the sandwich may seem a little gimmicky, but it goes together well and you can see how it would have been convenient for workers/drivers in the strip district.Anyway, it's a busy sports bar. And a bit of Pittsburgh history, though you might not be able to tell since they're busy selling sandwiches and aren't trading on their local fame. Maybe the original shop in the strip district will have more memorabilia type of stuff. The Oakland one doesn't... And doesn't have room for it. IIRC the Oakland location was their first expansion out of the strip district. Now they have many locations in the greater Pittsburgh area.“
“Amazing staff/Cooks, friendly great Vibes. My "Veggie Sub" was made with "Culinary Love". A delicious plus are the fresh made Cannolis.Vegetarian options: "Plant-based & Veggie Sub" Deliciously seasoned well with culinary love".“
“Dope little spot in Lawrenceville. Still owned by Cinderlands but rebranded. This menu is definitely better than the previous. Both beers tried were tasty. Also had the Kitchen Sink salad, which was a very generous portion and had lots of meat for $10. The Italian dressing is heavy on the red wine vinegar but otherwise tasty. Tots were just average. LTO burger was delicious as well as the pasta salad. Prices are reasonable.“
“I'm not typically one to do reviews for chain fast food restaurants but i just need people to know how great this location is. The service is always amazing, the food is always fresh and most importantly the place is always SO spotless and clean, like i can eat off the floor! (You know what im trying to say). Idk who owns this franchise but on this day and age it's hard to find employees who care, treat them right because your location is clearly doing something right!“
“So glad Jersey Mike's opened in Mt. Lebanon. The store is convenient, with easy parking and easy access. The store is clean and new, so I like going there. The workers were friendly and did not rush us as we decided what to get. Ended up with four people sharing two large subs: Philly cheesesteak and Italian. Both were really good and fresh. Nice amount of toppings. Bread was fresh. Enjoyed the overall experience.“
“I originally ordered my food for delivery but there was an error with the service so I ended up having to reorder and pick it up in person. The staff was so friendly and helpful about the situation over the phone and in person. I would go back for the customer service alone, but the sandwiches being great was an added bonus!“
“I’ve always loved firehouse. Such a great place for a fabulous sandwich. I always get the same thing because I know it’s going to be delicious every time it’s always clean and the workers always say hi to me which makes me feel appreciated. The food is consistent and I’ve never had a bad meal there. They also have a Coke freestyle which is a blessing. you know sometimes when you get sick of food when you eat it too much I could eat fire house until I die and never be sick of it so in conclusion 10 out of 10 would recommend.Parking: Plenty of spaceKid-friendliness: Lots of food options for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Very accessible“
“I was a little hesitant to eat dinner at a sandwich place for one of my few meals while in town for work, but I’m glad we came here. Great prices, good server, nice atmosphere, and a MASSIVE sandwich. I had the “When pigs fly”. It was very good. I couldn’t eat it all. You will not leave hungry or disappointed. The square that this place is on is a really nice area to walk around as well.“
“For years I had longed to take on the RoethlisBurger, but Peppi's hours aren't the most convenient for me. That is until a Saturday evening at Altar Bar with Icarus Witch and Kamelot caused Kay and I to track down dinner in the Strip District. And there it was, Peppi's. And they were...open?"Yeah, 'til 8PM," a guy behind the counter said."But the sign says...""Oh, ignore that. What'll it be, man?"Kay was frightened of the RoethlisBurger, so when I ordered it, she ran to The Clown across the street. After the fellow took my order, I was given a ticket, and was told to sit down and relax. As I waited, I took in the surroundings, gazing at the sports memorabilia and photos of patrons both ordinary and famous.Just as hunger pangs assailed my belly, there it was, enveloped in a paper plate in front of me: A homonculous of loose meat a la Maid-Rite gone malevolent. Ground beef, hot sausage, onions, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, scrambled eggs, and 'Merican cheese were all packed into a bread that was as flaxen as a Valkyrie and as airy as the morning mist. Upon doing some research I've found that it is called a Portuguese Roll, and it is pulchritudinous. This behemoth of a breakfast sandwich dazzled my tongue with its spice, filled my stomach amply with its bulky, chunky proteins, and soothed me with its fresh, fundamental vegetables, all of it held together with that amazing roll of rolls that threatens to make Italian bread passe via its sublime texture alone.'Tis the greatest sloppy joe to ever emerge from a steaming flattop.P.S. I found nothing "shabby" or "greasy" or "dirty" or "loud" about Peppi's. The service was friendly, the restaurant itself was clean, the atmosphere was quiet, and the sandwich was triumphant. If Primanti Brothers has a true parallel, it is Peppi's.One half of a Roethlis-Burger. I ate the first half and realized I didn't snap a pic.“
“I was really in the mood for something different, so I decided to try something new and got the chipotle chicken sub instead. It was really good! The chicken was nice and spicy, and the cheese and vegetables went well with it. I'll definitely be getting this again.“
“A Pittsburgh classic, worth experiencing at least once. My sandwich (double egg and cheese) was excellent, the fries so savory and the cole slaw so crisp. Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian options, but my go-to is the double egg and cheese classic sandwich. They used to have an impossible or beyond burger, iirc, but I didn't see that on the menu this time around.“
“I usually don’t leave reviews but the customer service was so good! Some homeless man tried to come and ask for my food as I was ringing out … the employees put him in check! On top of them toasting my Italian BMT perfect I had to sit down and dine-in! With everything else being closed they open early just perfect for a early lunch snack!“
“Emma's is great! They have a ton of menu options as well as "build your own" options. They sell products from local vendors (sauces, pasta, coffee, pierogis)There are many tables in a spacious area if you want to sit down and eat thereThe staff was extremely nice, friendly and welcoming. They are open Monday-Friday. I wish they were open on the weekends too!“
“Super clean store! Very spacious. I was there for the free subs this week. Waited little time. The owner made my sub from scratch, toasted it, and did everything I asked. I bought another since the one was free. Both subs were fresh, tasty, and top notch. Everyone there for the free subs was treated with respect and kindness. It was a great experience. I would return in a heartbeat.“
“It was okay. We waited for a bit in line, only to find out another sandwich artist was in the side room. He came out to help on the line once asked by the single artist in the main room. We were pressed for time as we were inbetween basketball games in a tournament in the PT muni center up the street. Food was okay, and the restaurant seemed clean. Overall just, meh.“
“I was visiting the Western Pennsylvania area and came here for lunch. Had the pastrami combo with superb coleslaw and pickles. Scrumptious sandwich that was filling along with being downright delightful! Well worth it here! Staff ensures great attention and thoughtful conversation!“
“Let's try this again the best Subway in the world is in Westview Pennsylvania honestly I have nothing to do with it the lady that runs it has been running it for so many years and does such a good job she's a big round of applause and thank you I have nothing to do with this I promise she is working hard I appreciate it I don't mind spending money there I appreciate i appreciate it thank you“
“Their service is Wonderful! You are Greeted with a smile. And the food is Absolutely Delicious!Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces located in the back of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: And there are plenty of tables inside the restaurant for family to enjoy a great meal.“
“These subs are pretty good. Unlike Subway, you do actually get a decent amount of toppings, and you do get a little more meat on their subs. But I guess with that little bit extra is the price difference. These subs are on the tad pricey side, though. Overall, it's a good place to grab a sub.“
“I loved experiencing the primanti sandwich in Pittsburgh. The number two best seller Pitts-burger was average. I would suggest any of the other originals. The slaw that is one of the toppings was great l just don't love items on a sandwich that make your bread soggy. There are generous children options available. I shared a picture of the pizza and fries. The lunch hour on a Sunday is busy so nice to see an active environment. It's an experience and a great place to dine with others.“
“This is the best subway I have been to in Pittsburgh. It is the cleanest one with the nicestt staff. During the pandemic everyone wrote masks. They even insisted customers wear them. I go there a couple times a months and they always have what I want. I can't recommend this place enough“
“I was in on June 9th, 2022 and was waited on by a lovely woman named Carissa. I was unsure on what to order and she gave great recommendations on what sandwich to order. She suggested the chicken and bacon ranch, which was amazing. I never buy chips or a drink either but she was able to sell me on those too. If she’s not manager yet she needs to be. Stellar service!“
“It looks like just another strip mall shotgun restaurant, but don't let its looks fool you. While a sub here will cost you a little bit more than Subway, remember, you get what you pay for, and here the difference in taste and quality is substantially better than the competition.“
“Stopped by right at opening to get an early lunch.Service was quick and friendly. Got the Audiablo, which I loved. Bread was tasty and the meats had a good spice to them. This was my first time to Pittsburgh but I'm sure I'll visit PrimoHoagies again when I return.“
“The hired associates were amazingly awesome! I showed them a discount coupon, and they directed me immediately to the menu board, which was appropriate for what was being offered. I didn't have to waste any time looking at the rest of the menus to decide what I was going to eat. Thanx guys! Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the ingredients. I've been to other Subways, but the one in Downtown McKeesport, by far, had the creamiest tasting tuna fish, while the others were drier tasting. This is a challenge to all Subways, make your tuna fish creamier!“
“Ashley and Amanda swift and friendly service. They pivoted with grace when I decided I wanted to make my salad a sub halfway through the creation. I must say as an out of towner frequenting the Greater Pittsburgh ares the put Bethel and South Hills on the map and booked this spot as a place to return. Double AA's powering this Sunway with A1 service.“
“The strip to Subway was a very good experience. There was only one person in front of us so we didn't have to wait in line long and the food was delicious. The folks working behind the counter I'll send friendly and in pretty good spirits which reflects in the experience“
“Stop in on Monday around noon , no line . Order the 6-inch chicken sub with extra chicken / pickle . food was great & service was on point . Recommend checking this place outParking: Parking can be challenging a peak hours because parking lot is share by other stores .Wheelchair accessibility: Yes , low entrance points for access of wheelchair“
“The food here is soooo good. I've had their subs and steak salad. The only complaint that I have is the wait, but I learned to order ahead. The cost is worth the amount that you got. The vibe in the restaurant is nice also. It's definitely a good place to grab a bite for lunch.“
“I'm a regular at this Subway and I have been for over 10 years. I have seen employees come and go over the years. They're like the Pirates, They become a great Sandwich Artist' Like that" and then their shipped off to another store. The gentleman they have now does a great job and he doesn't get rattled when its busy. Keep up the great work!“
