“I’ve been coming to Candy Mountain Creamery with my family for a while now, and it’s always been one of our favorite spots. The ice cream is great, and the overall atmosphere has usually been welcoming and relaxed at both the store and the ice cream truck.
That’s why this recent visit stood out in a disappointing way. There was an older employee working who made the environment feel noticeably tense and uncomfortable. There was also a bit of an attitude during our interaction—it felt like I had annoyed or interrupted her while she was doing a task, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. This was very different from the positive experiences we’ve had here in the past. Even the kids noticed it.
I’m sharing this because it felt so out of character for this place. I hope it was just an off day, as we’ve really enjoyed coming here and would love to continue supporting the business.“
“A true hidden gem. Probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had, and my toddler (and my husband and I) had such a good time feeding and petting the animals. This place presents a wonderful way to bring awareness to our dairy farmers and we will certainly be back to support as much as we can.“

The customer service is A1
The product is superb & they let you mix flavorz to customize your ice cream..
I forgot to mention that their waffle cones and bowls are made on site & can be smelled from yards away.
When you lean into the window there is no smell of sour milk either.

“Excellent! They have the best custard known to man! And their variety of Italian ice flavors are wonderful! Still have many of the original flavors we've grown to love plus many other mixes of custard, Italian ice, frappes, lemonade, and more. It's been my favorite gelati joint for over 10 years.
Parking: There are about 5 parking spots in front of the shop, however in the summertime they are always full. In the Lemoyne location, there is a Dollar General next door that allow customers to park and walk a few feet to the shop.
Kid-friendliness: There are a few picnic benches where many families sit with children and doggies too!
Wheelchair accessibility: It's all one level so yes it is wheelchair accessible.“

“Rakestraw’s is my go-to stop for ice cream. Their ice cream is outstanding! They always have my favorite flavor, Banana Pudding, in stock. My kids love their homemade milkshakes!
The portion sizes are incredibly generous, especially for the price, and the waffle cones are absolutely delicious. Every visit is a great value!
What really sets Rakestraw’s apart, though, is the people. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the owners are fantastic. They are genuinely invested in the community and have supported our school through several giveback events over the past few years. It’s clear they care about more than just serving great ice cream.
If you’re looking for amazing ice cream, friendly service, and a business that gives back to the community, Rakestraw’s is hard to beat!“

“I would like to personally write a review on Evan, one of the best employees I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. Evan is a spectacular worker and is always so friendly. He cracks me and my husband up always! He has a positive attitude and he is a hard worker. We always enjoy getting some ice cream during shopping and he makes the experience ever so much better. “Visited Cold Stone Creamery in Mechanicsburg recently and had a really good experience. The ice cream was fresh, creamy, and the mix-ins were blended perfectly. Staff was friendly and patient while taking the order, and the place had a nice atmosphere. Loved the variety of flavors and toppings available. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving desserts or ice cream with friends and family. Will be visiting again soon!“

“I have been a Dairy Queen fan for probably 40+ years of my life. Started out as an occasional treat for my husband and I when we were first married in Hagerstown, MD. Over the years we’ve moved around with his job, and we’ve ended up retiring here in Mechanicsburg. We’ve been going to the Simpson St. Dairy Queen for over 24 years and I have to tell you, the people who work there are like family to us, especially to me since I am usually the customer. They are always ready to serve you with a smile and a kind word, even when they are BUSY! I have three grown daughters who all live far away and I miss them, but the girls here are like daughters to me. Today, on the day before Mother’s Day, when I was feeling a little down because I couldn’t be with my own daughters, I was given a special treat that MADE MY DAY! In a world where we are struggling with a virus, and we read of so much suffering, it is a blessing to know that there are loving people who care for others that they only know from serving them! If you’ve never been here you need to go, not only for the delicious ice cream, but for the family-friendly atmosphere and service! Wendy R.“

“I really enjoy the Louise drive location (close to my work!!) They always have super delicious coffees every month and I love a local shop! I also really love the community aspect I see in their social media, it's part of what keeps me coming back over and over again! “I am happy this Dairy Queen is open during the winter months. I hope they will continue to do so. The ice cream is superb and the atmosphere is family friendly. I am an out-of-towner and wish the Dairy Queen outlets in my area were like this one. GREAT PLACE TO VISIT!“
