“I know seafood establishments are popping up all over the place now, and I can say I think I've just about tried every one of them. I must say this has been one of the best ones that I've had thus far. The crabs' legs were fresh, the shrimp was a nice size and not overcooked ?, the broccoli was nice and crisp, the corn was amazing, the potatoes was just right and the overall seasoning was perfect ??. And the customer service was excellent. Will definitely recommend this restaurant as one of the best seafood spots in Philly. Hat's off to the cook, owner, and staff.“

“OMG I was walking by this restaurant and smelled the good food. I had to stop in. I ordered the curry chicken dinner, yams and collard greens and rice and beans . Amazing is an understatement . “Ok so it was our first time going here and we just drove from Jersey where we reside and ate here.It took longer than expected to get our food but it was well worth it . Terell the owners 19yr old son showed up and showed of with great costumer service ,excellent food and yeah he put the presentation down on our platters. I gotta say it was really refreshing to hear and see a 19 yr old holding down a restaurant by himself while mom had the day of and he did her and us justice . “Nice BBQ spot in the cut. It is a spot for to-go. When I opened the door the cook what there to greet me. I ordered BBQ Brisket Sandwich w/ Pork & Beans and Mac & Cheese. Cornbread came with it. The BBQ sauce was nice and sweet and savory. Good taste. I'll say I've taste that sauce before for sure. Brisket was a delicious and well seasoned. Mac & Cheese was okay. It should use different cheese and seasonings but I still ate it. Pork & Beans was my favoriteeee - nice sweet & smokey sauce for the pork and beans. Cornbread was not that good. Service was great! “Jamil’s Cafe catered my daughter’s baby shower. Food was excellent. Arrived on time fresh and hot. He set up and gave me extra equipment. Everyone loved the food seasoned to perfection. The professionalism I received from beginning to the end was outstanding. Definitely booking again :)“

“This food really made me smile. I'm always skeptical about soul food spots because the mac fails to be cheesy and the veggies lack flavor but this place did not disappoint. I had the shrimp and my husband had the fish and I must say I properly enjoyed my food. The only change I would've asked for was to cook the cabbage a little shorter because I prefer mines to be a bit more crunchy but even without that I properly enjoyed them. It also heats up well which is important for me because I can never eat all of my food. I would definitely recommend eating here if you enjoy properly seasoned food.“

“I’ve been going to Lagos since 2015 Lagos will never do you wrong from the Rice to the Pasta to the Wings and the Pizza my favorite thing about them is their homemade strawberry lemonade with real fresh cut up strawberry pieces in it. “I had the chicken steak and the Jon Burger. The chicken was well trimmed and uniformly diced. The pieces were nicely seasoned and seared. The onions and peppers were seasoned and carmelized. The sauce and cheese added more tangy and spicy and sweet. The meat lasted as long as the roll, which was nice and buttery.I had the Jon Burger immediately after, but it deserve to be appreciated on its own. The turkey patty was thick, the chewing was good, and my taste buds sensed new things even after all the flavors of the chicken steak. I’m coming back to try the rest.Kid-friendliness: The pieces of chicken are bite-sized, uniform and very tender. The ground turkey is uniformly moist and well seasoned.“

“Today was my first time ordering from this restaurant.I want to start with the lady at the counter taking orders, she was extremely pleasant and professional, awesome vibes from everyone I seen behind the counter. Thank you, it’s nice to step into an establishment and not be hit with a bunch of workers who have attitudes. I knew I would be back off this alone!We ordered 2 rib platters one with yams the other Mac n cheese and both platters had greens. The ribs OMG the ribs were so tender just melted in your mouth, would have been nice to taste more seasoning however they were delicious I will order them again. The yams…I’m not sure what I think about them, first time for me with the pineapple mixed in yams a little sweet. I will need to try them again…the collard greens, to me didn’t taste like they were seasoned, would have been great to have some smoked turkey meat or even flavor of the smoked meat. I thought they were bland! What I will say about those collard greens they were cleaned well, I could taste it! The cornbread was delicious and the Mac and cheese must of been good because my husband didn’t say otherwise. He also did like the greens and was very satisfied with the ribs as well.I can’t wait to go back and try other items on their menu.“

“The food is delicious. I mainly purchase egusi and fufu or cassava leaf and fufu. I have tried the vegetable fried rice and jollof rice. It was good. I will try the jolloff rice again to see if I truly like it. The service is good. The folks at the window are friendly. There's a dine-in option. There are plenty of beverage options.“
