I have been around for over 40 years and have eaten at sandwich shops all over, but Peppi's blew me away. Not only is this my absolute favorite sub spot now, it easily earned a spot in my top 3 favorite restaurants anywhere. It might even be number one.

The Highlights:
* The Food: The subs my wife and I ordered were unreal. Fresh, loaded, and hands down the best we have ever had.

* The Value: The portion sizes are massive for what you pay. It feels like a throwback to the days when you actually got incredible value for your money.

* The Staff: Some of the friendliest, most welcoming people you will meet. You can tell they take genuine pride in their food, their history, and taking care of their customers.

* The Atmosphere: Plenty of comfortable, clean seating and a huge menu with tons of great options to choose from.

If you are anywhere near the North Side, this place is an absolute must-visit. We will be back on a regular basis.“

“Greatest food in America is right here. I'm a die hard, black & gold bleeding fan from Columbus, Ohio and visiting Peppi's for a RothlisBurger is a staple of my visits to Pittsburgh. I absolutely will always make time to eat at this restaurant. The only downside is it's cash only and the ATM in the restaurant only allows withdraws in increments of $20s, other than that, this is a 5 star restaurant. Go Steelers!!“

The Steakhouse Panini and Italian Panini were nothing short of amazing! I absolutely love a good panini and these were the best I've ever had. We also grabbed a cinnamon roll and brownie - 11/10, no notes.
The staff were also so friendly. I get overwhelmed easily and I did not feel rushed into picking my order.
I wish we didn't live so far away - Breadbox would be a regular stop for us.“

“This is hands down the best fish and chip spot in Pittsburgh. The fish, shrimp and fries were excellent. Perfectly crispy on the outside and the inside just melts in your mouth. The house made donuts are also to die for. Highly recommend checking them out and the owner is super nice too!“

“The people working at Jersey Mike's on Saturday evening, July 18 2020 went above and beyond for us. I placed an online order and on our way to get the order the vehicle we were driving in broke down. I called and explained the situation because I knew we wouldn't get there before close. The person I spoke with was so kind and assured me I could still get my order. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get there at all and when I called to explain and offer my order to the closing team, the person who answered was again so kind and offered to refund my order even though I had no intention of asking for that. It was just a nice gesture and the care they showed for our situation was amazing. I will make sure to order from them more often! Thanks guys!“

I was skeptical about the hummus being on the sandwich and originally asked for it to be made without but i’m honestly glad that they ended up putting it on there because it took it to a whole new level! “The workers are absolutely amazing, they wernt above and beyond to be kind and welcoming. The restaurant is absolutely freezing. I had to keep my coat and hat on and still felt so cold I ate quickly so my kid and I could leave.

The bathrooms are even colder, it's as though the heat isn't working at all or somebody higher up is being cheap and not turning it on.

People shouldn't have to work in conditions like this, they deserve better.“

“A fun setup! Our first time at this location. We were seated upstairs. Was definitely a little snug for our party, but food was amazing as always with Primanti. My only complaint was that we may have been overlooked a little, not being on the main floor. Drinks took a bit to get refilled. Other than that, a nice experience. Would return!“

“This JJ wasn’t terrible. The counter person was slightly condescending. She didn’t understand that I eat a Jimmy John’s multiple times a week because she felt the need to tell me what comes on the same sandwich that I ordered every time.
My instructions were not followed, and my sandwich did not meet my expectations. Even though they did not meet my expectations, I will go and give them another chance.
You know how distracting it is when you’re on your phone and there are no other customers, and instead of cleaning, maintaining your Restaurant following the one and only order you’ve probably gotten in one hour. You dropped the ball.
Not thrilled with this visit, but I will allow them to redeem themselves on my next visit.“

“Lunch rush mishap.
There was a decent amount of patrons when I entered. The crew was noticably busy with online orders and a large line at the counter.
They took my order and asked my name. Guy said someone with same name was ahead of me, so he added "v2" to the end of my name on the ticket.
Well.... I waited.... and waited until I realized people who ordered after me, got their food before me.
Told them I'm still waiting.... They must have given the order away to someone else or couldn't read the ticket properly.

But they corrected the issue in a timely manner.“

“First time at the chain. Had the Italian. Jumbo feeds 2 people with one big meal or two medium sized meals. Nothing special but not bad. Soft roll was good. Cold cuts were ok. Staff was helpful and efficient. Nice alternative to burgers. Would buy again.“

“I stopped going to Subway a few years ago because of quality was terrible. A couple of years ago I moved and was very close to this location in Westview plaza. I don't know if it is just this location or all subways have stepped up their game but I have never gotten a bad meal at this place!
Everything is fresh and it fills me up. The best part is I order through the app and they always have at least buy one get a second for 50% off and run a buy one get one free promotion very frequently. Currently they are doing the buy one get one free promotion and I have gone there three times in the last 5 days. All three times the food was delicious and did not take long to get. I highly recommend this place.“

“On the evening of Jan 7, 2025 we were hungry travelers coming through Pittsburg on our way home. We headed to chipotle when we saw this little sub station. So happy we stopped here instead! The food was DELICIOUS and the service just as great. The young men greeted us enthusiastically and took good care to make us super tasty subs! The place is clean and fun. We 💯 recommend! The bread is unique but amazing.. soft and chewy on this inside and crispy on the outside- holds all the goodies inside. We could taste every single ingredient - not just a bread sandwich. “Good subs...hot and cold. The staff is accommodating to special requests, like using a different cheese on a sandwich or adding lettuce and tomato to normally naked sandwiches. It's worth looking in your mail or inside local magazines for discount coupons that reduce the price by several dollars or by a percentage of the total bill. These Subs are not cheap but they're also a higher quality than what is available at some places.“
